And there were so many good lines throughout as well, but ending on that one is great..
(I then came to see comments and yours

Favorite line of the movie. Awesome way to end👍🤣
A good mix of old fashioned drama & comedic theater. The arts that never end! A timeless classic if you like vintage movies.
With this ring I wed! 😂

Cute Story! Ty For Circulating these Old Black & White 🎥Movies;. 👏Sooo Refreshing watching a Whole Movie, & No One had to get Naked & it was Enjoyable AND Entertaining!👍
So true. Today's actors and writers cannot make a "G" or "PG" movie. There are few you can watch with your grandchildren without being embarrassed. Just no talent today
Photography by John Alton- one of the great exponents of light and shadow.
Thanx for that info. Those photos are striking
Fun hats and gloves....I remember wearing white gloves as a kid
'A woman's place is in the home'....who did they think took over all the jobs when the men were at war? He should have at least been grateful for her keeping things going while he was gone.
My grandmother was a "Rosie the Riveter". During the war she worked in a factory that was making parts for planes. She was also a very creative artistic person. She worked cutting & polishing windshields. The material was half inch plastic of some sort. From the scraps she made a few things. She made a necklace. She made the chain links and clasp. The pendant was made from the windshield 'plastic' . It is cut in the shape of a heart and has beveled polished edges.🙂She was a widow in her early 30's with 2 young children during the depression. She went with the kids walking across country working on farms for food. She was a kind, sweet little woman.

A fun comedy; I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks...!!
Very charming comedy! It is always a pleasant surprise to find a B picture that is equally as competent as an A picture. Well done all around. Thank you for the upload. :-)
Even better than "A".
Hi dear
I enjoy the comments as much as I enjoy the movies! Great education for me makes the movies so much more interesting.
Most women back then worked only until they got married. Once married, they happily devoted their lives to keeping the house and raising children. But feminist extremist ideology brainwashed them to be more independent, hence a lot of woman went to work from the 70's onwards, but the downside was that their financial independence also made them less willing to compromise in any disagreement that would inevitably crop up between spouses. This resulted in divorce rate and couples (married or not) breaking up, reach an all- time high. Now, one-parent and one-person households have become so common as to pass for "normal". They make up at least 50% of US households, though the media would dowplay the phenomena.

Thank you.
I remember seeing Gerald Mohr in a Lost in Space episode playing a devil when I was a kid.
Lol TRUE !
He was horrible in Detective Story.
@@keithharvey7230 Haven't seen it.
Great little movie
Thank you for posting. The B Movies are the best. Witty dialogue, the actors seem to enjoy playing off each other. Gerald Mohr, always thought he was so handsome. Died young , heart attack, (June 11, 1914- November 9, 1968). Loved his voice as well. Happy viewing from Las Vegas, NV 8/30/18

Hi Michael. 9/02/18
At 54, he was a worn out swine, not young. Hundreds of thousands of Americans still die today at his very ripe age.
I'm so happy that all the reviews by the men on this film we're favorable! The sugar Lee role reminded me of Joan 👱 Blondell in "topper returns". Great b film. I loved it in California, but something gives me the feeling he won't quite get there. All great positive reviews. Thanks for posting.

I didn't watch it all but I liked the part I did see.
Nice little flick

What a conniving evil friend. Thy shalt not covet they neighbor's spouse (so to speak).
Enjoyed movie. Gerald was on the classic radio shows. He was so handsome
did anyone notice that Vera wore her initials on her blouse like Laverne from Laverne and Shirley did?

A very zany COMEDY that keeps you guessing !!😅 well worth your watching for any comedy movie buff....vera was definitely a snake in the grass ....🐍 glad she got nothing out of her conniving her friend and both her bosses....!

The male model at the opening shot was an actor who's name was difficult to put to the face.Harry Lauter went on to a long TV and film career.
Lynne roberts. Warren Douglas,Gerald mohr,Adele Mara and Grady Sutton Star in this comedy-while her husband is away fighting world war 2, a young wife successfully manages his advertising business-a hitch develops when the husband returns and expects her to be a housewife’ - male chauvinism ( vs. feminism) at its worst! Johnny came marching home to a different world-a woman’s place is not in the home these days! I give the flick 2 stars !! ⭐️ 😮😮😮😮😮
No woman could fall in love with the Gerald Mohr character so why does the girlfriend stick around?
Money and status.
Her room in the "women's hotel" has a piano?
What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive! Spoiler alert: Vera is a viper!
From 14:55 to about 15:20 it had stereo crickets! IMDB has this listed as mono. Interesting stuff.
That was fun!!!

Adele Mara as Sugar Lee stole the movie.
Yeah....she was really good....
I hope she likes it out at California!!!!!
Maybe she'll "bag" herself her OWN fella..!!
:-D
Fun movie
I wonder how these "B" movies got funded? If they weren't intended to be block busters why make em (from a studio perspective only, i luv em).
The movie industry was completely different during this era.
To fill out the double-bill, in the same way that there had to be 'something' on the flip side of the promoted song on a record A side.
The actors were contracted to the studio they had to keep them busy. Plus most people didn't have TVs.
Me too.
Lucky he got back 2 months early or poor guy would've came back to nothing. Time has changed and for the best.

great movie.

The scene at the train station, and I swear “Pat” Lynne Roberts looks and acts just like Molly Shannon “Mary O’Malley” from SNL. Their facial expressions are eerily similar. 🤷🏼♀️
So, she acts like someone who wasn't even born then. You are either a time traveler or...

@@pravinasings8098 what do you mean? I loved the movie, but it displayed this paternalistic attitude anyhow.

@@alphonsozorro7952 Women are not the property of men.
It still amazes me how they got a woman to wear a dead fox with its head still on back in those days, kinda like getting people to wear a mask on their face today.
The difference is that fur of a dead animal is just a cruel fashion, whereas wearing a mask saves lives from death by a fatal disease.
There is still cultures around the world that still use fur for warmth and food.
Growing up, I thought those were so elegant. They looked like toys around women's necks. Different standards back then.
You are easily amazed.
Also, Ms. Williams is absolutely right.
💚🙏😇🙏💚
US women were slim and graceful, back then. Look at US sows now.
So you look at 3 actresses in a movie and by that you can tell what all the women looked like then.
They were movie stars:....
Good movie, but the upload seems to contain added Foley effects. It's a bit distracting.
Feminism is great with friends like Vera. (Sarcasm) Stay at home! Bread and circus.

Can’t you Monetise at the beginning, and at the end only, so it doesn’t spoil the film, I’ve had to stop watching
Really? She will be as big of a problem again in one week.
I'll stay with the thirties and early 40s. This disintegrates into slapstick making it an extremely bad movie.

Didn't laugh once. That's not a comedy.
sappy and corny from the word go.
This is a terrible movie. Everything you don’t do when married.
You mean like trying to tell your spouse how to live his/her life.
Also the devious manipulation the advertising people did to the client is a bad example of behavior.
Hi dear
Sorry I bumped the dislike button on accident. =\ I agree with you, though.
Totally agree .
And the moral of the story is women should quit their jobs now that the men are back from the war - otherwise they'll be miserable. This actually came from the gov't so technically its a propaganda movie even though they didn't pay for it.
How do you know? I'm sure there was a secret connection
A lot of male chauvinism!
US women were slim and graceful, back then. Look at US sows now.
Male "chauvinism" or rather, women subordination, but it worked.
