Based on the old radio series of the same name, we see the lives of several people attending a popular radio show, including a young couple who meet and fall in love at the show. Great musical acts including Nat King Cole and Spike Jones, but ZaSu Pitts almost steals the show!

Just a comment regarding the segment of his "show" at about the 11:50 mark of the film where Tom Breneman interviews a lady with the name of Marie Edgedaw from Cherry Valley. She was portrayed wonderfully by the actress Sarah Padden and I found her dialogue fascinating since I grew up in Southern California and was very familar with the area talked about Beaumont, Cherry Valley, Banning. If you're driving to Palm Springs, you would pass this area and the dialogue is exactly right about the geography so I definitely knew what "Marie Edgedaw" was saying was true! It's also very sad that Tom Breneman passed away not long after this film was made and in the prime of his career and life of an apparent heart attack at only 47 years old.

Great movie, really loved the cameos with Nat King Cole. Had no idea he played such interesting songs! Here's some lyrics if you're curious:
It's Better To Be By Yourself | Nat King Cole
It is better to be by yourself
It is better to be by yourself
Love is made by two, it don't include a third.
'cause you'll lose your chick and then you'll get the bird
So it's better to be by yourself
    Never trust a gal
    Who puts on weet dialouge
    Never trust a pal
'cause remember that man's best friend is his dog
So it's better to be by youself
It is better to be on the shelf
Be just like a hermit living in a cage
You don't get much lovin' but the dough you save
Makes it better to be by yourself
    There's a story that's told about a man's mate
When his change run out she said "i'll see you gate'"
Now he works all day and come(s) home at night,
Instead of little bitty pettin' all she wants to do is fight,
So it's better to be by yourself, boy
It's better to be by yourself, oh man
It's better to be by yourself, boy
    Thanks for the upload 💖

@@duke9555 I don't live in the States so maybe in that country people always hated, but in the early 1960s we knew all our neighbours and mothers always talked over the fences on laundry day. Neighbours actually were there for each other, feeding each other's pets when on vacation, giving rides when necessary, etc. Not everyone was sociable but far more than now. I think it is necessary for people now to think that world did not exist in order to actually keep their sanity. The dissonance would kill them if they thought about the cesspool of a world we live in now. Apparently the States has always been.

What a wonderful movie.. I am so happy for the first time in my life. God has answered all of my prayers, and everything going on, I know he loves this world he created, just not what man has done in it. I watch this PizzaFlix channel throughout this past year when I discovered it. But saw the anniversary notification, I guess I never clicked on playlists. Or maybe you have uploaded more since.. anyway, what a time to live. What a wonderful view of how things used to be. I sure wish I was as skinny as those ladies.. lol.. thank you so much. I really have a hard time sleeping and these movies really help me. Congratulations!

@Bea Plum I love those old Spike Jones records, used to have some of his 78s. The rendition of "Glowworm" in this movie is hilarious but the old recording was even better.
Edit: Later I got them again, collected on LP, so I bet they're available on CD or in some electronic format now.

A really silly show, more of a vehicle for singers and actors in cameos than a plot. But I would give ten modern, overburdened, heavy toned, and oversexed modern flicks for one of these innocent pieces of frivolity. Loved the electric car!

Love Bonita Granville, She's adorable. Terrific body, especially looks good in the blouse she wears in this movie. I get her mixed up with Billie BUrke tho, and apparently I'm not the only one, according to comments.

Bonita has acted since she was a young girl, a Very pretty lady. Billie Burke was the good witch Glinda in the Wizard of Oz. Billie has been in many many movies. All the Topper movies. All her filmography is amazing. I dont know where she found the time, or energy to do all she did. She was also.married to Florenz Ziegfeld Jr. he was a Broadway producer & he also had the Ziegfeld Follies.,He was quite a showman back in that day, and quite handsome. Some of the stories of these actors and actresses are wonderful to read. Some have had good times & some bad times. Proves we all are human & that we all share in the human experience .We all have ups & downs just like everyone else.

Seems Dorothy was still in shock and mourning the man she loved, so I wasn't buying it that she wasn't given time to get over that shock, do some grieving. But then I didn't write the script. Overall a good Hollywood movie. Great character actors. Loved the old lady, Beaulah BOndi; interesting her ole here similar to her real life when she was elderly: Despite the fact that she was known for playing mother figures, Bondi never married in real life. She died from pulmonary complications caused by broken ribs suffered when she tripped over her cat in her home on January 11, 1981, at age 91.
.Also loved how the cheating man's wife (Billie Burke) did a 180. I didn't even recognize Billie Burke; she's such a good character actress. Seemed like an old lady when saying goodbye to sleeping husband, then adorable fox after going to beauty salon.
