    If the actors and actresses of today could only act like the actors and actresses of yesterdays stars have done then they could really say they are actors and actresses but I'm sorry they could never muster up to the ones who paved the paths for them. These movies from the late 20's through the 40's are, were and always will be the best then the rest. The movies had a story plot from start to the end. The movies of today aren't worth watching. They jump all over the place that leaves you quessing and hanging. These were the best years that you really can call a movie a movie. B/W were the best. Please keep them coming for i watch nothing else but the movies from this era

    When a macho pilot is treated by a woman doctor, complications ensue! Ruth hussey is the doctor-John Carroll is the pilot-Charlie ruggles is hussey’s doctor father and Ann Rutherford (poor girl) is the lady who stuck with useless dates! It all comes out as a funny comedy for all concerned! Pretty good one- liners! I declare this patient cured! 😂😂😂😂😊😊😊😊❤

    This is my second or third time watching this movie, but I either didn't leave a comment previously or can't find it.
    Anyway, cute movie that's a bit of a tearjerker and great fun at the same time. Charles Ruggles and Edward Everett Horton (yes, I know, he isn't in this movie) are charming, grandfatherly/uncle types who were so wonderful and who have no modern peers.
    The main actors are/were all excellent as was the story. In many respects life must have been wonderful back then...even though there was a war going on.

    If this had been Cary Grant or Melvyn Douglas with Rosalind Russell or Myrna Loy it would be famous. John Carroll was handsome and so was James Craig, but both owed their careers to the fact that Clark Gable took time off for the war. Ruth Hussey is not to be confused with Ruth Roman, but probably is. Since they had Russell, Loy, Eve Arden, Loretta Young, Irene Dunne, etc. the studios just didn't need another elegant comedienne. Charles Ruggles was always adorable. No one was prettier than Ann Rutherford, but she gave up show business soon after this film. Several faces are vaguely familiar, and there is one handsome soldier here whom I can't identify. All, all but forgotten now.

I miss the patriotism, class, clothes and lack of overt sex and destruction that is prevalent in todays so called movies. A time when, Movies Stars, actually worked their way up thru the ranks and weren't "one movie, no talent, snot faced, spoiled, entitled LIBERAL super stars..." todays actors and actresses, have no idea what it took to be a star in the heyday of the movie business...and they surely have no idea what class or character means.

    Originally released (by United Artists) as "Bedside Manner". Astor reissued it in 1950 under a different title {and the copyright date is wrong}.

      Correct. Astor's copyright notice date is MCMLX (1940), but the actual copyright registration by Lysander Productions is dated 1945, with a Los Angeles premier that year on June 8.

      Meeting old friends isn't safe today with the covid 19 having us all quarantined. ☹️

    How is this from 1945, but the film says 'copyright MCMXL'? Doesn't that make it 1940?

    • @PizzaFLIX
      @PizzaFLIX  Před 6 lety +4

      A mistake with the copyright notice date. Production Date started mid November 1944, Copyright Date: 22 June 1945.
