Three of a Kind (1936) COMEDY

  • Stars: Evalyn Knapp, Chick Chandler, Berton Churchill
    Director: Phil Rosen
Three con men, each think that the other two are wealthy, and spend most of their time trying to swindle one another. Eventually, one pulls out of the game when he falls in love.. This film should appeal to fans of such latter-day confidence game pics as The Sting.

I'd have died some time ago for want of modern medical attention, my wife would have died at age 6. So of course our children would never have existed. For one thing, I love Central Air and indoor plumbing. Yeah, a golden age in the past is a fantasy. Even the Elites did not live that well. Nor all that long.

This is a VERY funny, romantic, and well-done flick! Men these days should get a load of dressing like men instead of bums. Ladies? Thank goodness they can dress more comfortably/practically, these days, and still be ladies. Thanks PF.

The last 5-10 minutes redeemed the previous 60-65 minutes of this movie.
Not really all that bad, you just wondered who was going to wind up with whom or what.

Fun film, but the actor playing the father's not got natural comedic timing. Bit heavy handed with the visual stuff. I kept imagining how Frank Morgan or any of the members of the Ale & Quail Club would've done each of his scenes.

Isn't this a spoof of the big budget film 'It Happened One Night'

NO SPOILER ALERT HERE 😅 I did not like how this ended...like a cliff hanger almost. I can guess what happened, but it would be nice seeing how the cons reacted when learning their new truth...

It's been going on for decades, pretending to drive by twisting the steering wheel back and forth, over and over and over again.

The funniest is when the background screen shows the car turned a corner...but the steering wheel never moves.
And in the OLD Hitchcock movie, the car has several gear changes but the hands stay on the steering wheel.
