Quantum, please do that Q8FN vs G4 video. You did the Q8FN vs S95D a couple weeks back and that was really cool to see. You were surprised at how well it held its own and I would be curious to see how the Q8FN holds up against the G4. Given that the S95D is a much better panel than the G4, I'm almost thinking the Q8 might take the G4. It would be really interesting to see the comparison and I hope you do it-It would be a fun video.

How do you think they'd feel, if you grabbed a hundred people, your TV with its settings, and compared to their TV, and the vast majority of the hundred people choose your TV to watch?
It's quite strange when I compare the TV enthusiast space to, for example, the audiophile space. It's widely accepted that adjusting an audio product by tweaking its EQ profile can help or hinder anything. One would think that the more money you spend on something the less EQ tweaking is needed to really enjoy it. But time and again audio enthusiasts will shoot this down, and back it up with audio graphs that measure its audio profile. Enthusiasts will make the effort to tweak EQ profiles and provide their findings, concluding with strengths, weaknesses and potential real-use advantages of one product over another. This could be best for gaming, or for a specific genre of music, or studio production etc. But in the TV space it's somehow acceptable to just open a box and compare, without any effort. Not utilizing the tools some of us may have to unleash a products potential and just call it a wrap. Weird.

The purpose of calibration is to get everything "on the same level" which is defined by a "calibration target" (if possible, of course). Call your adjustements any way you want, but it's definitely not calibration.
I created a universal metric for my in house standard, which is how many tvs look similar. Like how the lg g4 looked similar to the s95d post calibration to my standard. Not only did the g4 look better, but identical to the S95D. This is indicative of a target. It most certainly is a new way of calibration.
Thx very much. You are the first channel that seems to be honest with these tv's. I have the Bravia 8 and colours seem really off somehow. Very blue out of the box and similar to the LG colors look washed out in "professional" mode on the Sony. But than again in normal mode it is over saturated but stil has this weird washed out / white winter glow over the screen. My 7 year old samsung LED tv looked better out of the box and never questioned it's color (in natural mode). As a test of reference to your video, because I really like how colors are displayed on my Apple devices (iPhone pro, ipad Pro and iMac M1) I compared the LG test footage in your video to how they look on those devices. Your settings are matching the Apple devices much better (a bit more yellowish maybe). Really wish Apple would make tv's, but apparently getting it right and quality control is not that simple. I also returned an iPhone pro with a bad screen. It seems Samsung with their knowledge from phone screens is the best party in the market right now and Sony/LG are really overrated/overhyped. I expected a lot from the Sony and their big promises, but the picture does not seem right and motion processing especially with Soccer etc is worse than on my 7 year old Samsung. Yes 4k upscaling is better, but what does that help if you are watching soccer and the upscaling/processing can't keep up with the movement and ends up more blurry than my old tv. It is like Samsung is making tv's for people and Sony/LG are making tv's for purists and "professionals". Will be transferring to the 77 inch 95d when prices are coming down, which also has a mat finish same as my 7 year old samsung. Never should have believed the hype. Also Dolby Vision is very much overrated. I can't seem to find a setting that is either to dark, or too bright with highlights. Whites are displayed insanely bright.
Sony is almost always way too blue after switching from the X1E chip to the X1U chip rebranded as the XR chip. Colors on sony are indeed very cold out of the box.

Yes, Samsung has a better color gamut thanks to QD-OLED. That's undeniable. But LG G4 is a better tv overall. The lack of dolby vision and DTS audio passthrough on the Samsung are a deal breaker for me. Plus all the complainings about the one connect box having dropouts when you play at 144 hz, just like the s95c. There are a lot of things to consider when you buy premium Tvs, not just color. Yes, LG has not the colors of Samsung but I saw it in person and it is still a gorgeous looking TV.
You know the more videos like this you have to make, the more I just realize that people just don’t want the truth really. They just want to be right or not be called out for being wrong! Quantum, now that you've had time to work with both Samsungs, would you recommend the S90D over the S95D because of the matte screen (if the price difference was not an issue), or would you wait until next year to see if Samsung ditches the matte screen?
Love your latest S95D videos, keeping it real. Got the 77" S95D a few weeks ago, upgraded from a 2008 50" Samsung plasma. I almost went Sony just cuz of their processing but decided to go with Samsung. I knew I wanted QD OLED for the reasons you said, its leaps better than MLA, QD is the future. The S95D looks damn good out of the box but I would like your calibration settings, I guess I'll subscribe for that. Thanks again for keeping it real

I have to agree completely with you @ quantum_tv and I’m a big LG fan but once QD OLED came out I haven’t looked back to WOLED again QD-OLED is just superior
you always reset the LG TV, and why don't you ever reset the Samsung TV to the factory settings and don't show what it looks like after taking it out of the box, only after calibration, how wonderful it is, because after your calibration, the LG looks very good too🤷

I appreciate your videos. Though I kind of feel bad that I got an LG C3 Oled instead of a Samsung with better colors/blacks/brightness/whites etc. Price was a factor for me. I just didn’t know what was the Samsung equivalent or better at that price point. On that note what would you recommend from what I said above from Samsung. This is crazy, There is no question that Q would be happy to say LG was the better TV if it was true. He has no particular love for Samsung. Other that QD-OLED, Q has been really hard on the Samsun LED tvs over the last couple of years.
Any viewer who believes you're manufacturing the subpar LG image is insane. You're literally showing them what referenced calibration modes look like. Quantum didn't determine those standards, the film industry did. Thats the problem with bias. It prevents us from seeing that which is right in front of us.
Thank you. I figured if you could see how cameras change the image, you could see why some youtubers like Brian's tech therapy have vivid out of box filmmaker mode examples.
When I buy a TV, I ask myself what type of user I am (consumer, professional, enthusiast, etc.), where I am with space and budget, what my requirements are (480i, 1080p, 4k, SDR, HDR10, Dolby Vision, Rec.709, BT.2020, etc., watch and read reviews, and make my purchase. If colors look undersaturated, I work with the saturation level, color mapping, and different color spaces until the colors are rich without clipping and without flesh looking too red. If dark scenes and bright scenes are clipped, I work with black and white levels, HDMI ranges, and tone mapping until everything is clearly visible. While I enjoy watching and reading everyone share their various degrees of knowledge and experience, at the end of the day, it all boils down to putting A/V politics aside, choosing based on what I opened this comment with, and then working with it until you know you're reaching the potential you paid for.
We all understand hopefully that the quantum dot technology is better than woled. But how does the quantum dot picture look straight out of the box like s..t too I would guess? Plus Samsung normally the ones who comes up with new technology and then get out done by their competitors down the line.😅

Is the S95D a good choice for watching movies, soccer and gaming? I would buy the S90D but only the 55 inch size is available in my country (Brazil), so I'm going for the 65" S95D
Woled use filters to get the red blue green color. Those filters dont totally block unwanted wavelengths. Thats why colors dont look as pure as on qd oleds which dont use color filters but quantum dots. Plus u get an extra white subpixel on woleds that mess stuff further. From what I understood till now 😅
I inputed your calibrated directions for the "movie" mode for S95D and it still looks darker from what your video showed and I don't know why, any suggestions?
Not sure about over saturation or any of that but for me at least i DO NOT want an amazingly colourfull tv... I want one that looks real.. can't tell on youtube which is more real...i do know i don't much like inaccurate colours

So after applying your settings to the G4 how does it compare to S95D? Is it equal or better than S95D in upscaling or motion etc…? I’m just curious how they compare to each once fully adjusted to the way you like them. Just want to drop cuple of word for the sake of the truth( out of my prospective and logic )! I have watched all Q videos related the G4, i have read many comments there and feel sorry for some people who feel sad about their G4 and they feel like they have been deceived. Don't be guys!!! I have the s95B(recently calibrated after Q calibration)for almost 2 years and got my G4 for almost 1 month and verry happy with both of them. So i can say some stuff out my personal experience. Colourwise QD-OLED is superior to WOLED by numbers and science based...point! There is no way to go around that! But the tv is not a stay still picture, or a portrait. We are watching moving picture, so there are many other factors are as important as colours. For example processing, the picture processing on g4 is the best i have ever seen...the amount of details and crispness is better than my S95B...the motion handling is better than my s95B. Unfortunately, i didn't have the chance to try the s95d or S90d but they are not far from the s95b. At the end... enjoy the tv that you have and put in mind that every manufacturer has its owen weak and strong points. Ps: they can do the ultimate tv, but they just don't want, for reasons, i can't explain here, cuz i have to write a lot. I have a word for Q... man, stop arguing with people( it is pointless in your Position) and focus your energy on the thing that you do best for almost 9 years amd enhance it. More calibration, less discussions. Peace out ✌🏼💚
The S95B has been extremely nerfed. It is very far from the s90d & s95d. Unless you have my settings on the g4, the lg will be at cold 20 or warm 50 with very low contrast, and be extremely flat. Its not a nice looking tv. Same goes for Samsung. You have to atleast tweak your picture to see color anywhere close to beautiful.
U said it tho. S95B --is 2022 MUCh Dimmer TV. S95D G4 are 2024 Bright. I mean S95B match iphone XS level brightness n + 100Nits. (Its 980nits peak, 😊In between XS/11pro to 12PRO). S95D is iphone 15pro level brightness(1600-1800NITs😊🎉🎉🎉) HEY if we had iphone XS/11pro even 12PRO, ,,,,,,then a Samsung 2024 Galaxy 24 Super Bright. On sunny day like today, we will Absolutely 💯 % (wow Samsung So much Crisp). But unless seeing the up coming 16PRO , we cant accurate how that 2024 Samsung is BEST screen this year. :) 😅😊 Just saying. I have SEEN S95C- and G3 side by side last week. S95C is utter Significantly brighter POP than S90D(peak 1200nits) So I understanding that with S95B Significantly DIM , with G3 G4 there is NO match on Bright Sunny day like today :_) S95D/S95C diff story tho! 😊😊

All you have to do is make youtube algorithm thinks youre something. Just add description with keywords for every video and also with timestamps little extra work but will pay you in a long run. Put some research and effort on thumbnail and video titles, while uploading the video choose right keywords and also as i said many times in the channel upload in HDR, which automatically signals youtube that you're some invested and good youtuber. So Invest in a good camera it will surely get you the money invested tentimes back. So tired of biased noobs selling inferior products as good.

Because if the difference is small in favor of the S95D, then I would go with the G4, because who guarantees that this matte screen will not have problems in the future, and the G4 has a 5-year warranty on the screen, against burn-in

Well I am liking my G80SD the monitor version of (S95D/S90D), it's pretty good with PC Processing/Callibration.

Quantum, now that you've had time to work with both Samsungs, would you recommend the S90D over the S95D because of the matte screen (if the price difference was not an issue), or would you wait until next year to see if Samsung ditches the matte screen?

Love your latest S95D videos, keeping it real. Got the 77" S95D a few weeks ago, upgraded from a 2008 50" Samsung plasma. I almost went Sony just cuz of their processing but decided to go with Samsung. I knew I wanted QD OLED for the reasons you said, its leaps better than MLA, QD is the future. The S95D looks damn good out of the box but I would like your calibration settings, I guess I'll subscribe for that. Thanks again for keeping it real

I have to agree completely with you @ quantum_tv and I’m a big LG fan but once QD OLED came out I haven’t looked back to WOLED again QD-OLED is just superior
you always reset the LG TV, and why don't you ever reset the Samsung TV to the factory settings and don't show what it looks like after taking it out of the box, only after calibration, how wonderful it is, because after your calibration, the LG looks very good too🤷

I appreciate your videos. Though I kind of feel bad that I got an LG C3 Oled instead of a Samsung with better colors/blacks/brightness/whites etc. Price was a factor for me. I just didn’t know what was the Samsung equivalent or better at that price point. On that note what would you recommend from what I said above from Samsung. This is crazy, There is no question that Q would be happy to say LG was the better TV if it was true. He has no particular love for Samsung. Other that QD-OLED, Q has been really hard on the Samsun LED tvs over the last couple of years.

Any viewer who believes you're manufacturing the subpar LG image is insane. You're literally showing them what referenced calibration modes look like. Quantum didn't determine those standards, the film industry did.
Thats the problem with bias. It prevents us from seeing that which is right in front of us.

Thank you. I figured if you could see how cameras change the image, you could see why some youtubers like Brian's tech therapy have vivid out of box filmmaker mode examples.
When I buy a TV, I ask myself what type of user I am (consumer, professional, enthusiast, etc.), where I am with space and budget, what my requirements are (480i, 1080p, 4k, SDR, HDR10, Dolby Vision, Rec.709, BT.2020, etc., watch and read reviews, and make my purchase. If colors look undersaturated, I work with the saturation level, color mapping, and different color spaces until the colors are rich without clipping and without flesh looking too red. If dark scenes and bright scenes are clipped, I work with black and white levels, HDMI ranges, and tone mapping until everything is clearly visible. While I enjoy watching and reading everyone share their various degrees of knowledge and experience, at the end of the day, it all boils down to putting A/V politics aside, choosing based on what I opened this comment with, and then working with it until you know you're reaching the potential you paid for.
Unfortunately there's no putting politics aside. There's so much misinformation and gatekeeping of information.

Woled use filters to get the red blue green color. Those filters dont totally block unwanted wavelengths. Thats why colors dont look as pure as on qd oleds which dont use color filters but quantum dots. Plus u get an extra white subpixel on woleds that mess stuff further. From what I understood till now 😅

You could have eco mode on or a bad unit. The S95D is far from a dark tv...

Just want to drop cuple of word for the sake of the truth( out of my prospective and logic )! I have watched all Q videos related the G4, i have read many comments there and feel sorry for some people who feel sad about their G4 and they feel like they have been deceived. Don't be guys!!! I have the s95B(recently calibrated after Q calibration)for almost 2 years and got my G4 for almost 1 month and verry happy with both of them. So i can say some stuff out my personal experience. Colourwise QD-OLED is superior to WOLED by numbers and science based...point! There is no way to go around that! But the tv is not a stay still picture, or a portrait. We are watching moving picture, so there are many other factors are as important as colours. For example processing, the picture processing on g4 is the best i have ever seen...the amount of details and crispness is better than my S95B...the motion handling is better than my s95B. Unfortunately, i didn't have the chance to try the s95d or S90d but they are not far from the s95b. At the end... enjoy the tv that you have and put in mind that every manufacturer has its owen weak and strong points. Ps: they can do the ultimate tv, but they just don't want, for reasons, i can't explain here, cuz i have to write a lot. I have a word for Q... man, stop arguing with people( it is pointless in your Position) and focus your energy on the thing that you do best for almost 9 years amd enhance it. More calibration, less discussions. Peace out ✌🏼💚
The S95B has been extremely nerfed. It is very far from the s90d & s95d. Unless you have my settings on the g4, the lg will be at cold 20 or warm 50 with very low contrast, and be extremely flat. Its not a nice looking tv. Same goes for Samsung. You have to atleast tweak your picture to see color anywhere close to beautiful.
The g4 in 2024 is a bad investment. When lg goes qd oled you'll understand.
U said it tho. S95B --is 2022 MUCh Dimmer TV. S95D G4 are 2024 Bright. I mean S95B match iphone XS level brightness n + 100Nits. (Its 980nits peak, 😊In between XS/11pro to 12PRO). S95D is iphone 15pro level brightness(1600-1800NITs😊🎉🎉🎉)

All you have to do is make youtube algorithm thinks youre something. Just add description with keywords for every video and also with timestamps little extra work but will pay you in a long run. Put some research and effort on thumbnail and video titles, while uploading the video choose right keywords and also as i said many times in the channel upload in HDR, which automatically signals youtube that you're some invested and good youtuber. So Invest in a good camera it will surely get you the money invested tentimes back. So tired of biased noobs selling inferior products as good.
Hdr has no bearing on youtube success. I've uploaded in hdr many times. Its just extra work for no reason.

I did check out KG’s Latest S95D vs G4 video. I think he took them Both Out of Film Maker Mode now. Okay okay I do give him some Credit :). And YES the C4 vs S90D video was TOTALLY 💯 UNFAIR n NOT genuine. He prob jumped the FMM Band Wagon with Digital Trends n other Influencer.
The comment where he said it was untouched in FMM was literally from his latest g4 vs s95d hdr comparison. He has earned no credit. He's still being lazy and not even trying to adjust tvs a little bit.

I don't understand why you day after day make this comparison of a calibrated TV with an uncalibrated one, if it's to prove that your method is good and superior, ok we understand, now say that the S95D is superior, and you compare it against an uncalibrated TV It doesn't make sense, why don't you compare the two calibrated in various contents, HDR, SDR, Games, live sports, low resolution content. @@Quantum_TV Yes, here they seem to trade blows, S95D is little better, there is a lack of comparison with different content, live sports, content with low resolution and HDR, games of course the S95D will win, but not everyone wants these TVs just for games
Because if the difference is small in favor of the S95D, then I would go with the G4, because who guarantees that this matte screen will not have problems in the future, and the G4 has a 5-year warranty on the screen, against burn-in
