Man, nobody does tv reviews to the detail that Vincent does - thank you so much!
I enjoi my dear but very difficulty four me understand. What he mean four g shree? Very inconvenience
RTINGS literally does a very indepth TV reviews LOL
These bottom feeder comments are so tiresome, curse the new zoomer generation.
Love your tests! Just a thought: What about a test comparing OLED TVs of different generations, to see how far the technology has evolved over the years...
Still on my LG C7 without any burn in or any dead pixels. Apart from a little wonkyness from one of the 4 HDMI ports, it still runs like a charm. The only thing that's making me want to upgrade are the recent 144hz refresh rates. A before and after comparison would be awesome to see.
@@TheRealStenn Got myself a CX here. The thing is, I’m not going to get a new one each year, I’ll probably keep using mine for about 8-10 years. Although I really enjoy these videos about the latest technology I’d also be curious to see how much has really changed. 🤷♂️
@@stefangroert9051I keep asking for this to several reviewers, I’m on a CX too.
The upgrades are not too noticeable. Like for instance, my A80J is basically the same Tv as the A80L or the upcoming Bravia8 Oled. I mean we are talking maybe 10% difference at most.
LG has had a bit more of an improvement in their C series line, but the C4 is only maybe 15% better than the CX. It's shocking how the oled mid ranged market has stagnated.
The biggest shake up we have had was the introduction of QD Oled but even then I can't really tell the difference between my s95B and A80j walking room too room in a paused scene.
I think the biggest difference in the generations would be moreso durability reasons than anything else.
@@chasecrappel9480i think certain buggs of oled tech have been improved and better programing. But nothing that would be clearly visible to an average person in most scenes. But i might be wrong.
Love Vincent’s reviews, but I still wish he would add a section comparing pre & post calibrations results. It would be very helpful to know how far off a TV is from reference OOTB.
He show the delta e before calibration at the end
@@TheVindu33380 It’s better than nothing, but I just wish he’d go into more detail.
If was a extremely limited review with just all the torture nitpicking tests . No HDR movie watching in full Dynamic mode. Why even buy this TV to run it in FMM at 1000. Yet he has videos raving about some 10000Nit monster than would be 20 times brighter than your room lights, and probably dreadful remapping a 600 or 1000NIT mastered movi .
Ie give a the 100000 monster a free pass as you got a freebie trip .
People seem to really like the dynamic mode on the G4 and that it gives a 3D like effect.
Remember the gushing on the Sony , the best HDR impact in specular highlights . Nada here
Really disappointed , not interested in torture tests, non real world BS , bit starved content , crappy youtube rubbish . Don't care if some tiny minor graduations in the Martian , you have to want to see it .
Vincent is becoming more irrelevant as the TVs are all mostly excellent. What is more important is the limitations or bugs.
You don't need 8K or 10000Nits to have a happy viewing time . Cinema is only 200Nits . getting a good discount and biggest as possible and putting extra into a sound system is best for immersion
Really this review told me nothing new or would affect my buying decision . Rather real world testing now , as TVs so good
@@nimblegoat the biggest annoyance is Vincent not using any type of chapter system so his videos are a book without chapters, feels like listening to 18 mins of a long monotonous run on sentence.
that was bearable a few years ago when things were still more exciting, but now i skim through this and usually just stick to av forums reviews at this point as its to the point since all of these tvs are similar at this point.
@@vlcthefish Yeah he's not even consistent even with that , showing the Pan movie etc . Actually the chart with the colours cyan , primaries , magenta etc was excellent and novel . You just felt he spent his month reviewing trying to find stuff to catch this TV out. Stuff that many of us don't care about that much on our existing TVs . Starting to remind me off nitpicking audio reviews that forget about the music. TBF he says Best in Class , great HDR impact. Plus we will get a end of year shoot out, but again a grain of salt, as want what reviewers like, not what looks closest to a Sony mastering monitor. Think is as long as you know the limitations of various manufacturers, all these TVs will look great . Plus we are getting YOY improvements, 4 stacks of OLED coming next year. Also LGs 5 years updates will improve and already good HDR and colour mapping. My end TV is 4000 HDR full BT2020, 240HZ - they will get better after that , but that's enough for me to buy biggest at that ability and not buy another till it dies ( to me at 4000 Master done real well will be excellent in a dark room , without making the room stupidly bright. My brain can do the rest. Ie a 1000 NIT master will ALWAYS look better if excellent than a average 4000 Nits master . This is true for music , SDR movies. LOTR will always look great no matter the TV, even on a so so LCD
Finally a full review 😍💪🏻
Thank you Teo. I just bought a 77inch G3 and I not sure about watching this or not, but I was kinda waiting for your review.
omg the GOAT has released a new vid, I got exams on the 7th BUT I GOTTA WATCH THIS VID FIRST
love your work vinny! my goto channel for TV reviews.
It would be very appreciable if your reviews also included an evaluation of how the factory calibration is, given that 99% of people will only ever watch the TV without calibration done by a professional.
Thank you so much for such a great review! Please let us know how does it look out of the box? Is it accurate or does it need to be calibrated?
Thank you for these no-nonsense but comprehensive reviews! It's great to see the improvements over the G3, but I'll keep my G2 until LG (or Samsung or Sony) implements their 3000+ nit OLED panels with processing improvements that match or are hopefully improved vs. the G4. (And who knows: maybe there will be more "affordable" 77-100 inch M5s or M6s by then? Probably wishful thinking, but it would be really nice to see the M-series prices start to drop so that I and others might start to consider them.)
lol ultra premium products stay at ultra premium prices for a reason - they're supposed to be exclusive and profitable. Just like the 97" G2 won't come down in price until end of life (and even then it won't be much), the M series will not be reducing msrp any time soon.
"Thousands of Nits" my ass....There is not a better looking TV on the market than SONY ay every level.....and likely never will be. You "spec nerds" need to STOP it because 98% of TV buyers could give a ratsass what the specs are, they just want to watch the best TV OUT OF THE BOX with the best quality that will last for at least 4-5 years.
@steveludwig4200 To each their own; no need to get so worked up about it. But TVs that get brighter will require less tone mapping since they can display 1000-4000 nit content natively, not to mention such TVs have way more HDR and SDR impact generally. For those that don't look for that stuff, save your money. But I am indeed a nerd who really enjoys looking for such details, whether I am doing critical or casual viewing. Plus, I agree with part of what you say in that I'll be perfectly happy with my G2 until there is enough of an overall PQ and processing leap forward to make another flagship TV purchase worth it for me with my budget. So I do wait 4-8 years between making purchases. But again, to each their own.
Thank you for this test Vincent. LG still making progress. Have you planned a test of the Philips oled 909?
Hi Vincent
Do you know when you'll be releasing reviews for the S90D, Bravia 7 and Hisense U8N?
I was an early adopter and I still use my B6, it still holds up great
im very happy with G3. Thank to your reviews I have selected great tv.
you should have waited for the G4! tsk tsk
Should probably wait for G5.... or maybe G6, G7 or G8...?@@gosman949
I have the LG G3 it’s nice tv so far really nice picture
Flashing artifacts is one of the biggest issues with WOLEDs that is not talked about enough by most reviewers. I see it everywhere with my LG C3 specially in youtube videos.
Most of the G3’s have no backflow some of them come with no plug and you have to find a plug. Some people don’t even know where to find a plug and people have no outlet in their house are in their barn, and those people just hoist up an old television, like a Samsung or anything like that no watch in the dark they’ll watch movies. They’ll watch movies like alone or they watch artist, but they will never know the true power of a pro.
@@ericB3444 you must be drunk
@@MegaMaskedrider incorrect. Olaf my main said the g3 was bright. Expand.
Correct @@MegaMaskedrider
@@MegaMaskedrider It's a bot I think.
Could you do a showdown between the g1-2-3-4? Would be cool to see how far the G series has come and also to know if buying an older g generation is a good investment if we find it at a discount
Another great review from your highness Vincent. LG showcased a panel reaching 3000 nits and don’t use it in their flagship? Did I miss an episode ?
AT 3% of the screen ?
So if I am understanding this right..LG came up this year with a 3000 nit panel. Yet they used last years panel and added the new MLA and new chip set. This is why you have marginal brightness improvements. Is this what you were saying Vincent?
Side by side comparison with S95D upcoming? Other channels have done it already, people definitely highly anticipate to see your take...
Thanks for always providing a great in depth review.
Do you have a timeframe of when you may be completing a review of the Sony Bravia 9.
Finally a good review on YT. You are always a guarantee. Only 2 words were missing on the purchased audio that you didn't mention.
Will you also review the Samsung S95D in the future?
I would like to change my 65" GZ1500 to a 77" QDOLED, so as to have greater color coverage, no OLED metathermerism problems (I've never heard you mention this) and a larger screen. I was going for the S95C for price reasons compared to the A95L, I'm waiting to see the S95D in person. Only film 99% in HDR e tv series, never games. Thanks, you do a great job!
I was always under the impression that Cinematic Movement was dynamic on the G3 as well, where it basically was equivalent to a de-judder setting of 3 most of the time but would drop slightly to something around a 2 if fast motion was detected. Classy Tech indicated that with the G4 the TV holds a lower de-judder setting like a 1 or 2 for regular watching and ramps up interpolation as needed instead of ramping down. Does that sound about right?
Amazing content to watch while Drake and Kendrick go at it. Thank you for the superb video!
Sony A95L most probably will be best 2023 and 2024 TV crazy!!
Nah lol
@@forjoel6974 will be except Pana wins 2024
Easily. A95L remains king especially with picture and audio combined. But it came out so late 2023 so it's almost a 2024 model anyway.
Yeah hence no A95M QD OLED because Samsung Display not making 83 inch till this year for next year and they might add a polarisers to minimise black crush I read flat panel HD
G4 is fantastic but I'm a ungenerous man so I continue to be happy with my CX.
I’d love to see how the G4 compares to the CX.
I remember when I had a LG CX..but I sold it and got a C3
@@HiKielLiHi is it a big upgrade? You really think it’s worth it?
@@lagunamusic7686...yeah my cx had screen uniformity issues..the c3 panel is clean

Bright colors in HDR look quite a bit better on QDOLED TVs compared to WOLED but unless you're watching TV demo videos all the time, it's not even noticeable for 99.5% of HDR Netflix and Blu-ray content.
Love your tests also, But do you need the AI Picture Pro setting on? What does this make? In witch sources? Purists set AI Prozessing off. But it could be perhaps better for upscaling 1080p content? Can you test also with the AI Picture Pro setting on?
waiting for comparison with s95d, still not sure if i should upgrade this generation but seems like a big improvement from the last one for both the g4 and the s95d. that said, both have their disadvantages as well this year
Vincent - what's up with the low-luminance desaturation @ 3:50 ? The a95l seems closer to the reference monitor and the G4 seems more muted/destaruated? Are the TVs mislabeled or am I just dumb and looking at it incorrectly
You're not going to get a true idea of what that looks like in person because they're HDR capable displays playing HDR content presented via SDR video, presumably being viewed on an uncalibrated display.
For what's it worth, I viewed the comparison A95L / LG G4 video presented in HDR10 over on @hdrtest channel on my calibrated LG G3 via an Apple TV 4K.
The A95L appears to match the reference monitor more closely than the G4 based on the chosen content provided for comparison.
I like the advancements to brighten display but personally I cannot use anything more than 50 OLED Light on my LG CX, at the moment without getting eyes to burn. Dunno if these brighter displays are any worth at all
Now that's a Dream TV right here!
Thanks for the review Vincent! I own the 77G4 for two weeks now and it’s an unbelievably great TV. Massive upgrade coming from the 65CX
In what respect is it an upgrade? I have a C9 and honestly don't feel the need to upgrade yet.
@@pneuma6050same
I went from 77 CX->83 G4 and seems wayyy brighter, more colorful, much more detail, better processing, gaming, UI. Feels hugely better.
@@pneuma6050yo shits old tech
@@pneuma6050 The increased brightness due to the MLA panel. I have a bright livingroom with a lot of windows, so watching in broad daylight on the 65CX was sometimes quite difficult. It's so much better with the 77G4 now.
Now if they could just fix the HDMI 2 issue where HDMI 2 either blacks out or is either super pixelated and grainy when switching to the input. Not sure if it's any device or if it's just when an AVR is plugged in but I'm eageryly awaiting an update to fix it.
Btw people pay attention if you buying g4 online so you dont end up like me and get 55 inch with wall mount, since there are different model names, for example g42lw is with wall mount and g42ls is with stand, and ofcourse Vincent thanks for this great review like always😊
Will you be reviewing the new iPad Pro with tandem OLED? It would be interesting to hear your thoughts about the new technology Apple is using.
I don't will ever detect some of the issues the new TVs have, but it's nice to have someone who explain what exactly are you paying for. Thanks for another great review.
Thanks Vinnie!
Finally Sr
Thank you
Finally! Will you test the M4?
Waiting for s95d review, i want to upgrade from lg cx but this matte finish makes me hesitate
I was waiting for this. And samsung s90d.
a review of Non-MLA 83' G3 vs New MLA 83' G4 would be good to make purchasing decision as most people only compare the MLA and QDOLED options.
Great Video! Which stand do you recommend for the 77-inch G4? It's rumored the the "NEW" stand from LG which will come available any day now will not have the slight lean...really like to hear your thoughts.
Just get a Universal Table Stand with a swival.
Vincent what do you think of LG 's new EULA which indicates selling of user habits and data to advertisers which you can't reject as per Louis Rossmann. Is it not applicable to UK or EU?
Hey from Sweden, Really great content 🙂 I have a 77” G3 and going to buy a new tv in a few days, should I buy a 85” Bravia 9 or a 83” G4? Wich would you pick?
wait 4:4:4 pass through? so you dont need to use PC mode anymore in these newer versions
also looks like old service menu is back? which is nice for future purchase
Hi, will there be a review of the new Tandem OLED display technology that's supposed to be able to deliver 1000 nits of fullscreen brightness on this channel? I would be very curious about that. Thanks.
What about APL autodimming?
is still ''filmaker mode'' the most accurate in terms of colour? im using that on the LG C1
Thanks very much for this, Vincent, absolutely invaluable.
In summary: The G4 is the best 83" OLED. If looking for a smaller set, get an A95L or save and buy a G3.
A95L looks jaw dropping every time I see it. But classy just pointed out a lot of bugs and issues with the TV on his last live stream with A95L.
@@kasramoghaddam1389 Sony is aware of these issues and bugs, and Sony has confirmed a major software update for the Summer of 2024 which is upon us. The A95L will get all of the 2024 Bravia line updates as well as software fixes. Hopefully they address all of the past issues, and the A95L will be that much better.
I don't know if A95L is better than g4...

HDTVTest ok now what is the best 55" tv for 4K, HDR, 120hz gaming?
I love my Sony A95L what a sound and what a color this tv produces out of this world!
You should do your self a favor and get a sound system for your TV, there is always a limit for a built in tv speaker.
Great video!! 👍
Did you find a way to enter LG Secret Menu with System remote on G3/C3 and G4/C4?
If yes, can you share how to do it please?
Thanks
I’ve had a 65” G4 for a couple of weeks.
Its image is fantastic, but the day before yesterday the audio randomly began cutting out intermittently from any HDMI source. It is doing this regardless of what I do with the settings. Not sure if it’s a lemon or if this is firmware.
Regardless, I’m not sure if I should return for a replacement, or just get another model. At this point I just want a nice TV that works out of the box.
I'd like to see a comparison of the B4 vs C3 since the B4 is very competitive in price vs the latter.
Also no such comparison have hit the Internet yet.
Still happy with my C7. A friend just got a G3 and the difference is so small for most content. The developments are very incremental to say the least.
The C7 is still a brilliant TV. I have a Sony A90J as well and it still holds its own with picture quality.
C9 here. And I have zero plans to update any time soon.
I'm still on a c7, but need a bigger TV soon as creating a larger room. Would you think G4? Or G3 and save a ton of cash given the leap for me could be huge.
I would get G4 83 inch. I have C1 77 inch and returned my G3 83 inch last year for not having MLA. I saw the other day and man it’s sooo clean and smooth. Treat yourself for a TV that will last
G3 for 77inch and below. G4 for 83inch.
@@victormunoz1864 My C7 is 55inch, my next will be a 65". I'm UK so we don't need such huge TV's as we tend to sit closer due to UK room sizes.
Waiting for your Z95A review.
How does the SDR game mode brightness compare on the G4 to last years G3? Is the G4 SDR game mode brighter than last years G3?
excellent video!
will you do LG C4 OLED review since the C series of LG is the most popular amongst gamers?
Probably not enough changes. LG really separated the C and G series. Since the C is clearly the second tier LG OLED, it won't be as relevant for review content.
LAN Speed still 100Mbit/s?
as always, good job! Quick question whether it makes sense to change 77A95L to 83G4 (mainly PC and console games and UHD movies)
Quick answer, no. A95L has better image quality.
@@LiWenhan Do you think that in games and movies, mainly Dolby vision, it will be better?
No
@@sirgareth5283 I'm thinking the same way. I recently watched dune 2 with DV and on my 95L some scenes looked weird
Yes, the lg supports hgig, which is a killer feature for playing games, you can also adjust the tone mapping on a per-title basis and lg has the best dolby vision implementation.
Only downsides are less color luminance and gamut but are rarely used to that degree
he just said there is something wrong with the G4’s Dolby vision gaming, no one else called this out. WOW
That's more than likely a Windows bug. All OLED monitors are having issues with Dolby Vision on Windows PC's. My ASUS PG32UCDM couldn't even show past 400 nits for months because of it. They just patched it 2 weeks ago, so it can actually hit over 1000 nits.
@@GameFanaTICK386No it was Xbox Gaming
@@NexGenTek yes, he made it clear that the G4 and A95L were both on the Xbox series X in Dolby vision gaming. He concluded that the A95L did not present the issue he saw on the G4 with Dolby vision gaming tested on the Xbox equally between the two sets.
When C4 review? I hope it has the same VRR flicker performance as the G4. I am still waiting to change my C9.
Would’ve been useful to show how accurate the colours are before calibrating the set.
Always like your tests. Strange however that the brightness difference is so small because other reviewers like rtings show bigger differences compared to G3. Would LG use two different panels in their new G4? One brighter and one like last year 🤔😵
love you vinny
So the G4 dono not use the meta 2.0 3.000 nits display. Which model use the 3.000 nits display ?
i am interested in the LG’s C Series OLEDs 🙃
I thought the service menu was blocked on newer models?
What about frame skipping in movies? Does it have any skipping or not? Thank you
The god of tv reviewers
Is it worth selling my c2 65 inch and buy og g4 77 inch/83inch on black friday? Or keep the c2 some few years more, when the technology is better. Or at the difference in picture Quality from c2 to g4 that HUGE
Waiting for more affordable 65/77 C4 review
I know this can sound as a stupid question but i have an old generation OLED tv from LG the 55B6V from 2017 Its got dolby vision and HDR looks great, is the picture quality or HDr content be very different? Because everything already looks great and don´t know if i can justify getting these new models.
So it was the undefeatable / always active microcontrast enhancement that was giving the g4 that extra bit of pop over the competition. Whatever works I guess though I do wonder if other TV’s have a similar setting for those who enjoy the look
Is the HX3110 new in this video? I know there was a video about it but that was at a trade show
YES! Good spotting. And he says it by name too, so not a typo. 3110 is still double lcd but 4000 nits peak vs 1000 on the hx310 he had before.

Well, a95L or G4 for multi purpose?
So for those who've been more closely following this release: for PC monitor usage that is like 70% work, 30% everything else, is the move the G4 or the A95L? Help!
I have a LG CX, which I moved to the main lounge and purchased a Samsung S 95C for gaming in a different room, initially I was very impressed with the Samsung the QDoled did have a Wow factor and I could appreciate the brightness and the colour upgrade, however, I started to experience the dreaded loss of signal black screens, nothing I did would stop it, resetting the TV trying different leads every possible thing it would go away for awhile and then come back, people are saying it’s one connect, I managed to get a full refund and can’t decide what to do now, I’m using my CX again for gaming and to be quite honest it’s really good. It’s still impresses me more than enough really and no problems at all with loss of signal. I’m considering the G4 but I might wait a bit longer.
This is a shocker with s95c
Am I correct in understanding there are two variants of the G4? A 3000 nit panel and a 2300 nit panel.

fomo found that there was more detail up in the highlights vs the g3 and believed it to be better processing rather than just the increase in peak brightness
HI Vincent , Which you think is good for gaming LG C4 vs S90D
He wont answer.
Both are 144hz, Input lag is basically the same at 4k 120/144hz

Get the C4 if dolby vision and gsync is important to you
LG-OLED for the win!
My trusty CX-OLED needs to be upgraded to an MLA panel, preferably a 77 incher G4.
Edit:
Flush-wall-mount obviously, the table-top stand is silly, if you want a table stand then get a C4
C4 is a worse TV without MLA and a worse chipset. Not an option.

At 0:52 there is a video on screen, called "The Circle" by xxx N. time? Does anyone know where that video comes from? Thanks.
Crazy to think that the g4 has surpassed the a95l in image detail
Another highly incremental improvement set.
Should I get the G4 83 or Bravia 9? I had the C8 for about six yrs its time to upgrade.
Do you have info on the small C4 models? Apparently the 42" and 48" have significant lower brightness, compared to the bigger >55" C4 variants. Sadly all reviewers only reviewed the 55" or bigger model.
The smaller ones are the same as last year. 55 and ups get the brightness boost, you welcome.
So effectively, 48" CX = c1 = c2 = c3 = c4 What the heck, LG@@beammeupscottsp7952
42 and 48 are the same as previous years around 800 nits, 55 and up are going to be 950.
so is lg's M4 series exclusively MLA 3.0 panels then? what's the point anouncing this whole new generation of panels with higher brightness if it gets gimped so they can mix it with last years panels otherwise
LG may be frauding it's customer if G4 is supposed to be next generation panel
Does the G4 finally have a gigabit port? Disgusting that high end TVs still have Fast Ethernet (100Mbps).
