  • Hey everyone. Thank you for checking out my video.
In this video, I am just letting an HDR DEMO roll so that you can just enjoy comparing for the most part yourselves. I do express what soke of my experience has been a little with the LG G4 comapred to the SONY A95L as time moves along.
I would like to make a more in-depth comparison in the future, but for now, I just wanted to point out a few more things I noticed, which I speak about at the end of the comparison. Thank you. and see you on the next one.

I have the A95K. Brilliant tv! Reality Creation is a marvel, I have it set to 60 and it makes 1080p look like 4k. The colour is also unreal. I have been looking at the 77in A95L because the A95K is that good.

Beautiful TV's in their most dull modes that turn off all the processing that you paid for. I'd rather see a mode with processing turned on and just adjust the color balance to warm 50 to get the colors accurate. If not then detail is just a game of which brand keeps the most processing on in their "filmmaker" mode.

@@paulcox2447 custom and filmmaker modes do not turn off processing in the sense of upscaling and contrast. It’s essentially just accurate colors, white balance ect. that reflect the creators intent. That is not “dull”. Once you’re used to a realistic image other modes look terrible.

Watching this again i think i have picked up on something that is being confused. Dynamic tone mapping will make bright areas darker and dark area brighter. If you want to make the brighter colors on the G4 brighter, you need to use Brightness > Professional Mode > 4000 Nit container slider and set to 70-100. Test the same thing and you will see what I mean.

QD OLED usually looks red on camera. The sony looks like it pushes red and then also has more blue than references, since it def has extra blue. The green push on the LG is probably at least a little real, though the camera likely exagerrates it. Normally WOLED looks blue on camera, so I'd say there is at least some legit green tint here and the blue isn't noticed because of just how blue the Sony is.
Go take a pic of your TV with your phone, you'll see the colors aren't the same as what you see in real life. Especially if you have an oled or qd oled.

    Hi, a curiosity...
who among Sony, Panasonic and LG performs the best upscaling and who has the best motion processor for SDR streaming content?
I would like to get the best live viewing for streaming sports content compressed with h264 and h265 codecs for example.
Panasonic has now improved with the new MZ2000 models and with the new mk2 processor on Z95A on this side and I've seen LG has also improved...
Sony still remains a point of reference or have things changed? I saw that Panasonic uses an IFC Accurate for Upscaling. In conclusion, how are Sony Panasonic and LG positioned in this area?

I think a huge part of the perceived ''clarity'' difference is coming from the higher contrast on the G4. Higher contrast on all levels will produce stronger edges, more highlight and shadow differences leading to more depth and more texture depth. This can all result in a more detailed looking image. And honestly, I prefer this look.
However, if you think detail also includes seeing ''details'' like surface gradients and patterns, then the Sony is revealing more of this due to less contrast in the shadows. So you could say that in many scenes you can see more surface details and colour details in darker areas on the Sony.
Again, I prefer the look of getting more depth and definition from contrast the way to G4 does. You really have to focus on which preceived result of the image processing is more to your taste.

If I understand correctly, this lack of contrast in comparison to Woled is inherent to QD- Oled tech which is such a bummer because otherwise, my S90C was better in every way. It didn’t matter if I was in a semi lit room or completely dark room, the raised backs were always there, resulting in a flatter picture presentation than what i’m used to. The way to perceive this, it's lime the processing just optimizes the fine details more clearly. Kind of makes them pop and look even more 3d. Hard thing to give up, and lg knows it. You get quite big variations stream from stream. I think you can easily favour anyone, depending on the camera make, positioning and exposure . Given in other streams S95D and G4 slugging it out, and S95D is meant to more vibrant than the Sony. QD-OLED is better in color highlights , G4 is meant to be better in highlights white a white presence. Also most Cameras can not catch the full contrast, Even top movie cameras only do say 14 Stops. My take is all these TVs are great. get best one suited for needs, at best price. Just remember if QD-OLED and WOLED are increasing the stack layers from 3 to 4 next year . These TVs will be blown away. The point is differences here won't matter as much as next years increase. Plus you will enjoy movies on all these TVs, just because you saw a better TV in the shop so FN what. For most content now in existence they can look almost the same.
Plus more important the overall picture , tone handling, processing. Harder to see this from these streams
Don't sweat the small stuff, fun to watch. More important is to have a great buying strategy - My one is to go discount until full BT2020, full 4000 HDR tonemap , then go big and premium , it will get better after that, but practically no movies will be mastered at 10000 Nits for a long time , or another colour space. So LG will have 4 levels of OLEDS stacked , not 3. Samsung will stack 4 layers of Blue OLED , so this should increase colour volume and overall NITs . Plus we don't know if they will have other new tech. Eleap is promising cheap very stackable true RGB in coming years. True RGB quantum dots are coming will should be greatly improved on Samsungs solution when fully realised. If they finally master the Blue PhoLED , good gains there ( I think it's coming, but still a couple of years away . My point is worrying about minor stuff now is kind of silly. Buy overall package. Eg LG G4 does such a good job color mapping now. That watching a G4 in isolation , it will look amazingly vibrant . For classic 1950 1960 movies , none of this even matters, as blown out color would be garrish and off putting .

      @MrReaperder2 Před 27 dny

@@jelos1163 Hey man, ok so here comes my humble opinion. I think the main question you should ask yourself is: how important is color luminance to me? The G4 is a colorful TV but a QD OLED panel (A95L) compared to a WOLED panel is even more colorful. I personally like the headroom in color volume/luminance QD OLED offers in games where it really shines if you like to use a more colorful/color popping preset from time to time like myself. That headroom isn't as important in streaming services and HDR movies though because there are way less scenes calling for that much color luminance. Also, red is not as much red on the G4 than on the A95L because of their different panel technologies but you will not notice that in day to day usage.
Besides color: the G4 this year has hands down the best processing in regards of showing fine details, 3D pop and clarity overall in games with it's A11 processor. Especially the 3D pop shouldn't be underestimated, it's awesome! In my opinion Sony is close with it's own XR clear processor when it comes to clarity overall but not quite as good. For streaming content - especially lower bitrate content - i would say that the A95L has a slight edge over the G4 because of a feature called reality creation. It brings out certain details even more by bringing back lost details that are still in the meta data through super resolution. Just a quick demonstration video of it from KG:
      czcams.com/video/4DXb6y8ef0k/video.html
Really amazing technology in my opinion.
In terms of brightness: the G4 is the brighter TV when it comes to scenes that include a lot of white light (most scenes). When it comes to scenes with much color involved that needs to be bright, the A95L is superior.
QD OLED panels in general are bit cleaner compared to WOLED panels, less banding.
OS is a matter of personal taste.
The G4 has 144hz compared to 120hz on the A95L. Might come in handy in FPS games.
They are both absolutely fantastic TVs that are worth buying in my point of view. We are splitting hairs here.
I hope that helps. Ask questions any time you want.

Samsung. The idea that Sony is some juggernaut only exists on the internet due to Sony marketing and a small group of "videophiles".
Samsung makes up 30-40% of the market and LG is around 20%. Between the 2 of them they have over half of all TV sales.
Sony is a whopping 5% of TV sales. They are barely staying in business in that division. It's the other departments like gaming that keep it afloat.
In the real world, the goal is to sell TV's. Samsung, Sony and LG all make a great product. The sales numbers are what they are and Sony isn't "winning" anything other than "king of TV's" the past few years. AKA 1 TV, that most people can't afford.
Sony LCD's up until this year have been hot garbage using the cheapest parts available.

People like to pretend that watching an OLED with no interpolation is a "quality" experience too. You really can't trust a lot of them. Before I bought my first OLED I heard Vincent and RTING's talk about "Mild stutter" that "most people don't notice". Borderline delusional statements, if it isn't delusion, it's just an outright lie.
If you don't see the screen shake back and forth every time something moves you need your eyes checked. Perhaps they are all hardcore alcoholics and used to it? I'd say my vision starts to get OLED like after a 6 pack or so. It's legit that bad, no quality at all if things are moving. 24fps movies and 30hz games are both unplayable without some interpolation, again unless you really like watching things shake.
Same thing with RTING giving all the uber glossy OLED's high anti-reflection scores.
If I can use my TV as a mirror, it's not good antireflection handling. I can understand seeing a light, but you don't just see a light. You see literally the entire room. Even my dark blue couch reflects enough light to be seen. A lot of these companies and reviewers gloss over real issues.
