Would you recommend capcut over Final Cut?
Great question. In some respects yes. The following are much better in CapCut than in FCPX: effects, transitions, colour presets, titles etc. If you pay up for the Pro version of CapCut then the Auto Enhance for colours is amazing, as is the Enhance Voice. You'll see the example in the video where it completely removes the background noise without any detriment to the vocal. You can get all these things for FCPX but it would cost you a huge amount in 3rd party plugins.
The one thing I missed from CapCut is multicam editing. We use that to synchronise audio files to our video and if we have more than one camera running simultaneously. Otherwise you are manually stacking the clips and trying to match waveforms. Other than that, if we compare FCPX with the PRO version of CapCut, for 90% of users (especially those editing CZcams videos), we'd have to recommend CapCut.

Sure thing. Same process as any other editing software so you need some expertise to add back the contrast and saturation but the same tools are there. You can also import custom LUTs for this purpose should you wish.
I've been watching a ton of tutorials on CapCut the last few weeks, and yours is definitely one of the best, most clear, with great examples and workflow. You mentioned a few things a the start with the importing that I didn't know about because everyone else skips, and the end with the thumbnail creation.
I'd love to see a continuation digging in to more features in the future.

CapCut looks like the little brother of Final Cut Pro. If only Apple could get some of CapCut's features

Quick question - has the colour match feature been removed or placed elsewhere or is there another way to do what this feature did? In the adjustment tools, all I can see from the top is Auto adjust - LUT - Adjustment - but the colour match tool at 12mins 34 in this video doesn't appear. Any help would be massively appreciated. Otherwise, love the channel and all the content.
First of all, thank you for your videos? And thank you for making everything very simple and easy to follow. Would CapCut be a good editing program for green screen, masking, and all of the micro edits needed for Chroma key?
Also, does One even need to shoot on a green screen to get a desired background, but yet still be able to edit it properly in CapCut ?

I like your tutorial. Have two questions, how much of CapCut music is copyrighted and how can one tell if it is?
As a long-time Final Cut Pro user with over 1200 videos posted over 12 years on CZcams, I am really enjoying the ease of use and the final output of CapCut. However, the lack of multicam is an issue, as 90% of my videos involve two or more camera angles. Hopefully, they will add this feature. Additionally, I am unsure about the legal use of CapCut's audio and sound effects on CZcams. Do you know if using them on CZcams would constitute copyright infringement?
100% agree. The lack of a multicam feature is limiting if you are used to it. The other thing I noticed with CapCut is if you are working with very long projects, e.g. 1-hour or more, things get sluggish. FCPX is hard to beat for 'professional' editing but I wish it had all these additional features you see in CapCut. Most of the transitions and effects in FCPX look like they are from the 90s.

Shot matching (for colour) and facial beauty etc have been standard in Davinci Resolve for a few years now. It looks like capcut is easier to use but most of this isn't new

Q. What spec laptop would be cost-effective for working with CapCut? Most of my work will probably be staff training videos and some educational presentations, so 5 to 15 minuters, and the odd holiday compilation to torture my family with memories. 😉
Minimum of Windows 10, 128GB storage (preferably SSD), 4GB RAM, middle tier GPU. So basically any newer laptops with Core i5 would do. Any more suggestions?

I know I'm just one man but could you please please do a tutorial on making a Hyperlapse in Capcut? I tried last year and was having all kinds of issues with RAW files and getting the program to turn hundreds of photos into a video format. I would be forever in your debt 😊

Great video, what about the free version of davinci resolve vs the free version of capcut what would you recomend and why.
Resolve is a steep learning curve, disorganized mess, and almost impossible to use without watching hours of tutorials . CapCut is more intuitive and far easier to use.
I've given up on Resolve. I don't want sonething I need to learn in Evening Classes or on Day Release. Life is too short.
I'd have to agree with the comments. Resolve is outstanding and it's amazing that it's free but you need some serious patience to get up and running with it. CapCut's interface is similar to FCPX which in my opinion is by far the easiest and quickest way to edit video.
Hello Stewart, what do you think about the ipad version of CapCut? Can it do the same. I’m in doubt to edit in LumaFusion that I own a long time, but never used it much. Lumafusion also lacks a bunch of features like speedramping etc. In LumaFusion you do can edit from an attached SSD, while it isn’t possible in CapCut. (I use an iPad Pro M1, my IMac is still an i5 that is becoming to slow.) I would like to hear your opinion (s). By the way I love your video’s, been following you from the beginning… dji Mavic air 1.
Hey! The CapCut mobile app has pretty much the same functionality. On an iPad Pro it will be a nice experience for sure. I've only ever used it on a phone which is fine for short edits but I would gravitate to my laptop for anything else. I haven't used LumaFusion so can't compare (although I've only heard good things). No downside in trying it out though. Appreciate the support and continued interest in the channel! Thank you!
Fab video as always. I have resisted using Capcut up until now, due to the lawsuits and concerns over privacy. Don't know if these comments are true. Have you any experience on that?

Near the end, you refer to the 'cover' as a thumbnail. But is it? I never seem to get mine showing on CZcams, for example, using this 'cover', I have to make a separate one in Canva. Is the cover function just a thumbnail?
Nice one on making it that far in the video! The cover I demonstrate in the video is exported separately as a JPEG along with the video file. So when uploading to CZcams you can just use that image file as your thumbnail. I'm not quite sure what you mean by having to do it separately?
@DroneFilmGuide Reply much appreciated. What I mean is, I've always just made a thumbnail in canva as a sort of 'brand' thumbnail, and inserted it along with a music intro before the main video clips in Cap cut video, and I simply alter the text on this brand thumbnail for each video I make, including at the end.
However, in my latest video, I tried making a specific 'hook' thumbnail, following what some other channels do, and an intro 'hook' video to, again, inspire viewers to watch the whole video. I did try using that cover, but because it was not called 'thumbnail' by CapCut, I didn't try it more often, but also I believe It would only be seen as a thumbnail advertising the video on CZcams, and wouldn't appear in the video for the first few seconds like my Canva thumbnails do.
Anyways, I'm still rather new at video editing (about 6 months) and CZcams (two), so I'll gradually get the hang of the best way to do it all with each video I make.
What's the difference on the paid version, can anyone out there who's bought it fill me in.
Loads more effects/transitions, but also some of the better functions like audio enhancements and one click colour correction.
