  • Born in Cork on May 25, 1976, Cillian Murphy started his love for performing on stage in a band before turning to theatre thanks to playwright Enda Walsh who cast him in his play: "Disco Pigs”.
Throughout his career Cillian Murphy has been staying true to his theatrical roots and regularly performs on stage (“Misterman", "Grief Is The Thing With Feathers", “Ballyturk", "The Shape of Things", "Juno and the Peacock", etc…)
His Irish roots nurturing his appetite to experiencing the work led him to expand his artistic reach internationally on TV (Peaky Blinders”, etc…) and on screen with films like "28 Days Later”, “Inception”, “The Wind That Shakes The Barley”, “Sunshine”, “The Dark Knight”, “Anthropoid”, “Red Lights”, “Breakfast on Pluto”, etc…)
Here is a compilation of his insight on acting and his love for the actual "doing" of it.

I love his thought process... it is analytical but very emotional. You can feel his passion for each person that he plays. Amazing actor and special man. 🌿🕊🌿

Never seen a fine man like him, his clincing jaw, eyes are so masculine, a Thomas shelby fan.

I like about how he explains Ken Loach makes actors to get involved on the situations in such a way it seems reality what they are experiencing and not just playing a role. That film that represents part of the Irish history is very hard and sad. It resembles the civil world in my country when brothers and families split for political ideas taking drastic decisions which have remained in some generations like an inextinguisable rencour and pain.
I hope we never have to live a war again.

I do think you need brilliant actors to create something touching reality. Daniel Blake was not the one.
