You can get a missile launcher that can lock on to 45 targets with 2 missiles each, then get mods that let you target all of those on 1 target and lock on a fire 50% faster. Sure it cane survive 2 400 damage missiles, but 4 salvos of 90 in 10 seconds is a bit much for anything.
Trust me when I say, that's largely for the boost-jump. It's one of those mid-range weapons that actually has the jumppacks to fit with melee dashpack. Weapon loadout for fencer is finicky like that
yeeeeaaaaahhhhh EDF has some crazy shit. the wing divers have a weapon called grit shot. its a high explosive full auto shotgun plasma launcher and its a STARTING WEAPON... i am NOT kidding, look it up!
I beat Earth Defense Force 5 boss with a missile launcher that had about 41 missiles with a single lock on ability while switching to a rapid fire assault rifle with a 125 ammo capacity and 1.1 reload on the boss summoned giant aliens and his heavy infantry, which I find annoying but easy to kill in the head with a sniper rifle once you broke their armored helmets in four shots provided they don't constantly dodge and move whenever they get shot at.

I've never played as a fencer before cause it felt really slow so I stuck to rangers and wingdivers. But god damn the potential of the fencer is insane and I was foolish to think they didn't have something in their arsenal to make them faster
I know i'm a bit late to the party but around 7 minutes in when he has the shield up and gatling gun spraying at the sky while the music chanted RIP AND TEAR was probably one of the most badass things, I'm imagining it straight from a movie.
I myself am a fencer boy but every single EDF troop type can be insanely devastating with the right amount of malicious imagination. In teamwork they are invincible. But this is a softer showcase even for what a fencer is capable of

I spent my entire EDF 4.1-5 Career playing as Ranger with a bit of WingDiver. I always embraced the tactic of 'Move fast, hit hard' and... Well, seeing Fencer so damn MOBILE is inspiring! It all depends on how you set them up.

Spamming him makes you even faster then the wing divers too me and my friends were just having a race around the map when our fencer just zoomed right past me
I was having trouble on this mission as ranger so I took the support equipment that increases how much hp medkits restore to npcs and made it without a single one dying, having all them alive helped greatly because they could keep swarms off me while I sniped the ships.
@@TheReapergod36 it's totally compensated by mobility granted by twin spear. You know, the downtime of boost, when you can't jump and awkwardly try running/dashing, this part is fixed by dashing and twin spear propulsion. Moreover it can also boost you midair making you faster)

As a Ranger main. You have encouraged me to use the Fencer more. I wanted to use him since he had a cool design but he moved so slow. This video proved me wrong he moves like a Armored Core here.

when you finally get three jumps and three boosts. first loadout shotgun mortar and then spear second loadout anything long range, I try to shoot like Tanikaze in Knights of Sidonia
Only 1 minute in, got goosebumps. Fencer is literally the most BADASS play style. You feel like a indestructible GOD! If doom guy was in this universe he would be a fencer.
Badass indeed(though the difficulty is likely normal or easy) it does show how wild playstyles can be,props to you from an edf vet with 4(technically 5)games under his belt ^.^

Wind Divers in 5 are slightly above wet tissue paper and are more hard cardboard, meaning they have a better chance to surviving to the end.

As a Fencer main I love this!
Normally I play Air Raider almost exclusively but this has inspired me to reinstall the game and try out Fencer.
Mission failed, went back to playing Air Raider after about five missions, lol.
Man earth defense force has really kicked up to be one of the best games around not to mention this kind of combat is like with some dream and animation for the fun of it and for all the rest

Only 1 minute in, got goosebumps. Fencer is literally the most BADASS play style. You feel like a indestructible GOD! If doom guy was in this universe he would be a fencer.

Ranger with a shotgun + plus some rip and tear. Tons of fun
Badass indeed(though the difficulty is likely normal or easy) it does show how wild playstyles can be,props to you from an edf vet with 4(technically 5)games under his belt ^.^
I mained Ranger in 4 and decided to give Fencer a try in 5 and holy SHIT are they fun
This convinced me this is one of the greatest games made

ngl this is legit how it feels especially if you got the mortar, single shot cannon, gatling and the hammer.
Edit: It's just like RussianBadger said, the fencer is the definition of doomslayer and slendermans DNA mixed in a test tube.
