What always makes me lose my focus on all these doom moment compilations is how all of them have their suits painted or add some other cosmetic things.
This will always be one of the greatest games of one of the greatest game franchises of all time, but the lore just doesn't land for me. DOOM was always a lone Marine (SGT Taggart in the novels) taking on the hordes of HELL single-handed. Making him a demigod with an elaborate backstory is a waste of a perfectly good defy-the-odds-to-save-humanity hero. Guess I'll just have to go play Half Life again...

But the moment they started throwing heaps of made up names, words and pages upon pages of backstory, I kinda tap out
Depends what they mean. It's probably because of the crazy amount of new lore, the atmosphere of the game, and the fact they turned the doomguy from stubborn into a full blown imbecile which is sometimes funny but once again hurts the atmosphere. There's also weird and unnecessary retcons like making Samuel one of the makyrs even though it doesn't really make sense given his actions in 2016 Doom.
I personally hated that they made Doom Guy wear a helmet like it's Haze or something. The old school health indicator was how bloody Doom Guys face was in the bottom of the HUD. Piss on this modern crap. Give me the real Doom.
Looks like someone has never actually played OG DOOM games. Doom Guy wore a helmet since the classic games, you can see that either in the multiplayer or at end of the second game.
I dont get why the marauder keeps talking shit, like how tf is he a usurper if YOU are the one who betrayed the sentinels to be a hell marauder and YOU know there is no way to inflict moral or mental pain onto the slayer.

A really badass backstory. Second of all, if you don't like the new armor, actually play the game to get different ones. They have the old praetor suit, and the classic one. You would know this if you actually played the game. Just say you don't like the new games. You don't have to complain about stupid stuff.

He was far more of a badass when he was just a random grunt who was able to persevere through the depths of hell and come up on top.
