Pope Francis Approves Blessings For Same Sex Couples

  • His "holiness" the Pope, who knows nothing about holiness, seems to think its ok for priests to bless same sex couples. How can Catholics maintain their beliefs about the Pope being the head of the church, the Vicar of Christ and Christ on earth if he is teaching such garbage? It's time to wakeup and leave the Roman Catholic Church. Time to look to scripture, and scripture alone, instead of Popes and bishops. Pope Francis is a clear fraud and a phoney.

The Catholic church is not allowing gay marriages. Listen to what the reporter actually says. They twist what he said and ran with it to make a story. The Pope is firm on gay marriages and gay lifestyles. We don't accept that sin. But he said we shouldn't just turn these people away. They can come in and talk to a priest and receive a blessing. Just like any other sinner can come in to the Catholic Church and ask for a blessing from God. It doesn't mean that their sins are accepted it's just saying come in ask God to forgive you and he will help you repent of your sin and turn to Jesus.
If you think that the Pope is telling people that the Catholic Church is now accepting gay lifestyles then you did not listen to what he said. Gay marriages are not allowed in the Catholic Church. Gay people are lost brothers and sisters and they can come in and hopefully God will work in their hearts and guide them on the paths of righteousness.

I was raised a catholic, until…I actually seriously started to read the Bible. We can read in Scriptures that Lord Jesus commanded the Apostles to first preach the Gospel to the Jews, and after also to the Heathen or Gentiles (but never vise versa ! ). I found out in Scriptures who of the Apostles for the first time went to Rome .. and it wasn't Peter. In the Book of Acts it says in Chapter 28 the following: 16 "And when we came to Rome, the Centurion delivered the Prisoners to the Captain of the Guard: but Paul was allowed to live in a house, by himself, with a Roman Soldier that kept him. 17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the Chief of the there living Jews together: and when they came together, Paul said to them: "Men and Brethren, though I have committed nothing against our people, our customs, or against our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans 18 who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of guild in me. 19 But when the Jews spoke against that verdict, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had made any accusations against my Nation. 20 For this Hope (the Gospel of Jesus Christ) therefore I have called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because for the Hope of Israel I am bound with these chains. 21 The Chief of the Jews said to Paul: "We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning you, neither any of the Brethren that came from there shewed or spoke any harm of you. 22 But we desire to hear of you what you think: for concerning this sect, we know that it is spoken against everywhere". The Roman catholic church claims that it was Peter who went to Rome first to preach the Gospel there first and that it was Peter who founded the Church there. Question: who lies? God,... or the Roman catholic church ? And what about the Letter in the Bible from Paul to the Congregation of Galatians where it says this in Chapter 2? From verse 7 we read the following: 7 "But on the contrary, when they saw that the Gospel of the Uncircumcision (Gentiles) was committed unto me, as the Gospel of the Circumcision (Jews) was unto Peter; 8 for He that gave Peter power effectively to the Apostleship of the circumcision (again: the Jews), the Same was Mighty in me toward the Gentiles. 9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the Grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we (that are Paul and Barnabas) should go unto the Heathen, and they unto the Circumcision. Again dear catholics: who lies? God’s Word, or the Roman catholic church? Bible, the book of Acts, Chapter 5, verse 29 : Then Peter and the other Apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey GOD - rather than man” !!
Since the Roman catholic 'church' claims to be well-read on scriptures, then please point me in the direction of where in the Bible it says to pray to a woman, or with a rosary praising Mary, or to dead “saints.” Lord Jesus calls every believer Saints which all are who received the Holy Spirit and confess that Jesus is Lord - so Rome has no authority appointing only some people saint - that is ludicrous. Please show me the name ‘pope’ in the Bible? Please show me where it says to call any mortal sinful man (the pope) your father. Please show me where the Bible says anything about purgatory, or paying indulgences (buying yourself into heaven - is God corrupt ?). Please show me where Mary was sinless? Why is it that Catholics worship Mary still as a virgin when Lord Jesus had half brothers and half sisters? Please show me where it says to confess your sins to a fellow sinful man so that he may forgive them? Where does the Bible say the pope is the “vicar of Christ” on earth? Show me where it says that a preacher must be unmarried? It was the pagan ROMAN Emperor Constantine who was in fact the first “pope” who hijacked the first Christian Communion in Rome founded by the apostle Paul, and he didn't allow for the common people to have Bible Scriptures...to keep believers ignorant to stay in power, as the Catholic Church still tries to do. Later pope’s started the ‘inquisition’ because the book printing machine was invented and people like Martin Luther and William Tyndale could spread the Bible to the common people: they were persecuted and many of them burned to dead for that by decree of Rome, and so were hundreds others who did the same as they denounced the FALSE doctrines of Rome. Rome called them heretics and witches while they murdered Christians who loved Jesus and true Scriptures. PLEASE GET OUT OF THIS FALSE CHURCH !!! The Roman catholic “church” is a continuation of the old Roman PAGAN Empire: it never went away as it disguised itself as a Christian Church. Read Revelation, Chapter 17: verse 7, 8 and 9…Read also Revelation 18 to see what God will do to this “church.”

There is no reasoning with someone as lost as you except pray for your soul to come to the Truth. I will mention one point and disprove your entire arguments based on this question. Why did Jesus pray in the Garden of Gethsemane? Why did Jesus pray at all since He is God and God has no need to pray to himself? Because prayer is the communication pathway to the spiritual unseen realm through which we ask God and “a mighty close of witnesses we are surrounded by” as Paul mentions to aid and tend to us as the angels did to Jesus after he prayed for help after being tempted by the Devil. Mary is the Mother of God and in the Flesh, Jesus. Mary is the perfection of human nature and obedience to God’s Will but Jesus is the Redeemer through which he opens the path to Heaven and holiness through his perfect human and Divine natures.

Mary was a sinner, just as we all are. Only Jesus was and is without sin. Jesus is God and He doesn't need angels to recue Him". Even during the 40 days temptation in the dessert Jesus never asked for angels to rescue Him, but they served Him AFTER the 40 days. As Jesus stated regarding Peter here in Matthew 26: 47 "And while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people. 48 Now His betrayer had given them a sign, saying, "Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him." 49 Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, "Greetings, Rabbi!" and kissed Him. 50 But Jesus said to him, "Friend, why have you come?" Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him. 51 And suddenly, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. 52 But Jesus said to him, "Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. 53 Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? 54 How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?"

And since we do know better we absolutely should outcry the truths…
      Fiducia Supplicans quote/excerpts
“…the Church does not have the power to impart blessings on unions of persons of the same sex.” Part 1.5
      I. The Blessing in the Sacrament of Marriage
      4. Pope Francis’ recent response to the second of the five questions posed by two Cardinals[4] offers an opportunity to explore this issue further, especially in its pastoral implications. It is a matter of avoiding that “something that is not marriage is being recognized as marriage.”[5] Therefore, rites and prayers that could create confusion between what constitutes marriage-which is the “exclusive, stable, and indissoluble union between a man and a woman, naturally open to the generation of children”[6]-and what contradicts it are inadmissible. This conviction is grounded in the perennial Catholic doctrine of marriage; it is only in this context that sexual relations find their natural, proper, and fully human meaning. The Church’s doctrine on this point remains firm.
II. The Meaning of the Various Blessings
      11. Basing itself on these considerations, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith’s Explanatory Note to its 2021 Responsum recalls that when a blessing is invoked on certain human relationships by a special liturgical rite, it is necessary that what is blessed corresponds with God’s designs written in creation and fully revealed by Christ the Lord. For this reason, since the Church has always considered only those sexual relations that are lived out within marriage to be morally licit, the Church does not have the power to confer its liturgical blessing when that would somehow offer a form of moral legitimacy to a union that presumes to be a marriage or to an extra-marital sexual practice.
Vatican News article 1-24-24 headline reads
“Pope Francis: Bless the persons, not the union”
Later in the document with further details of this language he stated “Not the union,” the Pope stressed, “but the persons, naturally taking into account the context, sensitivities, the places where one lives, and the most appropriate ways to do it.”

If God's grace is on someone, they cannot practise evil as a habit.
Christ said those who practise sin are slaves of sin and slaves won't be in the house forever.
By the Holy Spirit, Paul the Apostle wrote that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus who don't walk after the flesh but walk after the Spirit. Romans 8: 1-4.
How does one walk after the Spirit? Obedience to Jesus' spiritual teachings of love. By doing so, one repents automatically and cannot practise sin. For such people who don't PRACTISE sin because they live in obedience to Jesus' spiritual teachings, Jesus' death and resurrection counts for such people. (The essence of 1 John 1: 5-7)
So, it is indeed grace though faith.
What kind of faith? Faith that overcomes temptations to PRACTISE sin for Jesus Christ said "I have prayed for you Peter that your faith may not fail."
Obedience to Jesus' spiritual teachings of love isn't works. Paul talks about obedience to the truth in Romans 2.
So, it is indeed Grace through faith, but this is the kind of faith where people don't practise sin but can fall in sin anytime which is accepted in scripture but practising sin is rejected by scripture and scripture says such people belong to the devil.

I see the advice of Alistair Begg begging the question. Most Protestants are worse. Look at all the "mainline" denominations, at where the SBC is going.
As a Protestant, I have FAR more in common with most conservative Papists than with most Protestants today. There's MANY conservative Roman "Catholics" that actually believe in all the solas, contrary to the formal teachings of Rome. A friend of mine was an Augustinian monk who left because rampant sexual immorality including acceptance of "trans" took over his cloister. He remains a Roman "Catholic" including salvation by faith alone in Christ alone. After 30 years I left the PCA as they turned liberal on many issues during COVID. I'm now at Calvary chapel but in 2016 most of them went liberal too. My local pastor is great. Almost every visiting pastor is a disaster and I have been commanded not to continue asking questions, even respectfully, even after service.

I was just turning out some very old newspaper clippings today - when I came across an old article titled "Pope Signals More Tolerant Stance on Homosexuality": It states:
The Pontiff [Pope Francis] refused to condemn homosexuality, saying, "We must be brothers." ... On the subject of gay priests, he added, "If a person is gay and seeks God and has goodwill, who am I to judge him?" He stressed that the official position of the Church is that homosexual acts are sinful, but homosexual urges and thoughts are not.
He must be so busy reading Catholic 'Tradition' that he has not yet gotten round to reading the Bible. Against a minimalistic view of the Seventh Commandment, Jesus says, “But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman [or man] with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her [him] in his heart” (Matt. 5:28).
The article continues: "The Pope stated, "The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains this very well. It says they [gay people] should not be marginalised because of this orientation , but they must be integrated into society. The problem is not having this orientation. We must be brothers."

@williamacuff7707 When we die the first place we all go is to heaven to the feet of Jesus, the Lord will look inside of you and if he does not see himself you cannot stay, if you are born again then you can stay, both parties will bow their knees and confess Jesus as Lord, the believer will do so because the love they have for the Savior floods them and out of love we fall on our knees and confess the Lordship of our king, the unbeliever will bow their knees out of reverence and fear because the holiness of the Lord and his pure righteousness surrounds them and they confess Jesus is Lord because it is an unavoidable truth and they will not be able to help themselves at that moment

One doesn't pray to Mary, or to "saints" who are appointed by the pope (Jesus calls every believer Saint and His children just as apostle Paul does) and it is Lord Jesus Himself who says this: 1 Timothy 2: 5 "For there is One God and One mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus". John 14: 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
