I'm an American of Mexican ethnicity. My mother's family lives in Guadalajara. As a child we would visit my grandmother there and cousins at Puerto Vallarta near there in Spring. I'm 68 years old, I was never made to feel uncomfortable telling people of how wonderful it was to visit Mexico and my family. Lately people look at me as though I said a bad word when I talk about my ethnicity and how much I enjoy my culture of mariachi music, the dancers, the food. My ethicity is now a "bad word"? Those MAGA racists turned my ethnicity into a BAD WORD! They made me, a Mexican woman, into a bad word. They upruptly changed subject because I could see they were disgusted that I identified with my Mexican ethnicity. I never saw people react like that before. I wish I could sue Fox News, Carlson, and Trump for deliberately alienating me from my relationship with my fellow Americans. They made sure to have them reject me for my ethnicity. If some were not racists before, they made sure to convert them into racists eventually.

You stated that you are American. The problem is with illegal immigration not just from Mexico but from many other countries. There is a difference between saying illegal immigration is bad and saying Mexicans are bad, the latter being said by nobody on fox news or Donald trump ever. If anyone is to blame for giving the Mexican people a bad name it would be the current administration who has allowed a record number of illegal immigrants through the US Mexico border causing fear and hysteria to spread through America's population including Mexican American people like yourself.
