Possibly the greatest heartbreak song of all time: “I don’t want to fade away! Give me one more day please. I don’t want to fade away!”
Rips my guts out every time. Thanks for this.
Welcome Stephen! Glad to share more. ❤️
Thanks for posting best lesson of bell bottom blues on the internet I've been learning this for a week now.
awesome review & cover lesson of this old classic Henry, new life into this old favorite, Thanks Henry
You’re the best !!! Please continue with the Lady in the Balcony !!!! All songs !
Good to see you doing this breakdown, one of my favourite songs too although tbo I've not previously even looked at the acoustic version so thanks....
One of my favorite songs and this is the best video on it. So glad I looked again.
Great video! That E7 and hammer-on is pretty much a classic Eric's thing, really enjoy it, thank you for posting this video!
Especially in Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out.
I was waiting for this!!! Thanks man
Excellent lesson,! You're great, thanks! 😊 Love that. Great song. Merci pour toutes ces explications détaillées ! 👌👍Thumbs up!
Wow, these lessons are awesome.
Thanks very nice breakdown of Eric's style you can hear the genesis of this song in his version of "Nobody Knows You" clearly showing his early acoustic blues influences. Looking forward to more video's from you.
What a terrific lesson. Thanks Henry, great job!
Glad you liked it!
Very cool! Thank you for this video it was really helpful.
Awesome…thanks so much for your hard work…so glad I found Bell Bottom…excellent lesson…
awesome lesson where i could understand it. most guys dont give very good lessons. but you did great. thank you.
what a king
great lesson, thanks!
Nice analysis......candy for the ears.....
Another great lesson. Thank you!
Welcome! Happy to share 😄
Honestly this is one of the best lessons I've seen, thanks for this video. It moves at exactly the right pace. Very annoying when lessons treat the viewer as if they've only just picked up the guitar! Thanks for uploading
excellent, thank you
Welcome, glad to share! 😄
nice work!
Great live version with Bobby Whitlock and ec on Jules Hollands show, from years back.
nicely done
I “Second the Comments”… very well done …. Thank you 👏👏👏
Nice lesson! Bell Bottom Blues was recorded on my 17th birthday!!!
Great lesson!...Another concept to start the solo is to spell out the E chord and then continue on with the solo...(I see it more as a C maj pentatonic with the added fourth)
can you do look in my fathers eyes? would love a lesson
Awesome lesson, Henry! Please consider doing a separate lesson, just on that cool solo. Thanks again.
Yeah! I can't tell by seeing your video (or Clapton's) how it's done.
That would be great to have a lesson on that solo, masterpiece
9:48 No, you're wrong, Henry. Normally when listeners listen someone sing, they know if he can sing or not, and your little _I don't wanna_ is enough for us to believe that you can sing beautifully! Love you, man! Consider my comment and sing sometime(wink)!
Great lesson! In the most recent clip I saw, Eric used a standard G.
Wow, I just signed up! Got the Lady In The Balcony CD as immediately wanted to add this acoustic gem to my repertoire. Nice work!
Last chord is E7 fade out.... Great video, thanks
very good, and made it easy to learn. enjoyable to learn one of my favorites. still cant pull tabs up.

I liked that I can do all but solo as finger style is new to me
Also instead of playing c major I tend to play cadd9. I feel like it sounds better on acoustic
Close but... Watch the Clapton video from this recording. The chorus turnaround is a simple one note change from an A to an Ab. Not D to E. Very subtle.
Hi Henry
Love your lessons. Are you gonna do Kerry also?
I've been thinking about it. Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out is next :-)
Henry I am truly digging your videos. Because unfortunately I started playing like 40 years ago and stopped I am just starting again. So I’m just looking at chord charts and learning new chords as best as I can. I have been going straight to your videos. They are really good. Any suggestions for what beginners should learn first? I really want to get better at the little riffs between chords. Any suggestions? Thanks Henry I really appreciate your teaching methods. God Bless.
Watch this :-) supersimpleguitar.com/p/first-steps
I appreciate you sending me that link. I hope in the next day or two I can check it out. I am really digging your videos. You are absolutely incredible on the guitar. Thanks!
Can you do “kerry” from this album?
Your lesson was productive, some of the lessons are like watching paint dry.:)
Glad to hear that!
good job henry, your channel it's amazing specially for intermediate people that it's actually difficult to find some channels, that teach it, thank you for this eric claptosn series i love it
Hi Henry, thanks for this. Looking forward to you looking into „Kerry“. Btw. what guitar is this?
I’ll check it out. It’s a Maton :-)
Cool. Which Series?
808 TE (Tommy Emmanuel)
I think the beauty in this lesson is you can take everything here and apply it to the "original" acoustic version. (Since I'm not a fan of the balcony version lyrical flow.) Thanks for a great lesson video. Also, this song should have been on Unplugged...EC needs to get with Bobby Whitlock and do an acoustic version. /endrant
If u could add chords on the screen during the lesson, would be really helpful. Thanks..
I really appreciate the way you put this together. Thanks. learned this from the exact same video. In fact he does use first position A and G and does Not go to the 3rd and 5th frets. He also does not barre the F#. instead he uses an odd triad and a dyad instead of a full G# and F#, his F# equivalent being G# on the G string and a D on the B string. that's all he does. Nathan East on 5 string base is picking up some of the lines you have integrated, or so it seems to me. EC definitely uses his thumb for the F on the first fret and there are a couple other surprising simple and efficient things he does. Part of his genius is that he finds the most economical ways possible to use the horizontal geography of the neck. the thing is, you have truly nailed the sound he's getting, which goes to show how many ways there are to get the right thing in different ways. But i have seen him play this song using your positions too. Anyway, your video gets it the most exactly of the ones I've seen. It happens all the time with EC. I figure out the sounds and then see he's doing it in a much more logical concise way, so i relearn it. I wish I knew theory , which would help cement the logic. I am lucky that my ears work because I get it all by sound.
Love your videos! Any chance you’ll revisit this one now that the video has been released?
Interesting that the video shows Clapton playing the 2nd part near the nut and not up on the fifth fret walking down.
That was good. I wish you had a little bit mor of a close up and a little slower. Just for us irritating beginners. We all start somewhere right? Thank you I subscribed👍🏻
Noted!
Great breakdown, don't know if its possible but would a chord sheet be possible?
It will be available in a day or 2 :-)

Great song. If anyone has actually lived these lyrics hmu
What guitar is that?❤
Furch Vintage 2
Hey, what kinda guitar is that?
It’s a Maton 808TE
Henry, I owe you a huge apology the tab finally showed up but only from Edge and not Firefox. I hope you will accept this humble apology. I have a habit of sticking my foot in my mouth and as usual it is humbling to have to pull it out
To me, it sounds like the second time through, instead of going Am to Am/G, he’s playing Am to C7/G..? Or maybe that’s the keys Playing a Bb? 🤔
Could be, I hope the video comes out soon :-)
@@henryolsenguitar it’s already on CZcams for a few weeks, you can buy the HUD for 12 bucks just FYI
C7/G is right. Also during the B section, missing that E7 right after the D.
A huge thanks to Robert De Niro for this lesson
haha

Why do you say free tab?
Personally the reaction videos kill me lol, almost an on video
What? ....the free tab is locked....
You just need to log in.
"Free Tabs?!" Yeah, only if you're a Patreon. But that's ok, I'm actually better/faster learning by ear.
Anyway, thanks for the breakdown, just don't advertised things for "free" that are really not. That's one of my "pet peeves."
It’s free, just make a free account ;-)
Love the music learned to play from him but his covid comments and actions have turned me off for good c u later Slowbrain
Lascia perdere, non si può spiegare.
This has gotta stop…
