20:17 Recap the reviews
"How hilarious. How highly highly humorous"
Siskel stifling his laughter as Ebert says that is pure magic
This week on the show presents the S&E dynamic so well. They're in complete agreement for most of the show and they disagree strongly when they discuss RAW. Miss these guys!
R.I.P Siskel, Ebert and Robin Williams.
RIP Eddie Murphyâs career. đđđ
@@newfrontierfilms6314 and Bill cosbys reputation
"Boy, you're upset. And you know, I AM TOO!"
S&E are always at their best when they get into their major arguments. The battle over Eddie Murphy is classic. I'm not really much of a fan of Murphy's standup - too much ranting that's not always funny - but when he's controlled in a movie, he's pretty good. I still say Trading Places is my favorite of Murphy's films.
And Leonard Part 6 is definitely one of the worst movies ever, and that's not even taking into account I don't think any of us will be able to tolerate a Bill Cosby performance these days.
Leonard Part 6 was such low hanging fruit and it's great to see the boys barely stretch to bury it.
What happend to Lenoard part 1 through 5 đ
@@Dim4323 Drugged and ravaged by Part 6 himself.
Back when selling out for a bad movie was seen as Cosby's biggest crime.
Those women were groupies.
8:12 one of the best comments from Gene!
I have seen all five of those films Siskel and Ebert had reviewed on Boxing Day of 1987:
Good Morning Vietnam: âââ1/2
Leonard Part 6: đ - one of cinema's biggest abomination ever!
Eddie Murphy RAW: âââ
Housesitting: ââ1/2
Siesta: âââ - although the star rating is marginal.
Great episode for that time. It never gets old.
He so TALENTED! In addition to his material, his impressions and voices are fabulous.

Leonard Part 6 đđ
Moscow on the Hudson is a really good movie that seems to be pretty much forgotten. Roger really but close to home with that reading of the Williams character.
immediately followed with Cosby should be ashamed of himself. he didnt know how right he was on both counts.
I'd love to see Eddie Murphy watching this episode. đ€Łđđ
Raw is hilarious
Ebert was wrong. Murphy's Raw touched a nerve... too much truth in the comedy for him to handle I suppose. Usually agreed more with him than Siskel but there were exceptions. This certainly was one of them.
I think he was right. Though there are bits in Raw that are really funny, Richard Pryor's concert movies were better.
Robin Williams, Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy
I only read Marilynne Robinson's fantastic first novel, Housekeeping, last year. (She wrote the even greater Gilead series.) Never knew they made a movie adaptation. Thanks!

Well I'm... sure this is where the disappointment with Bill Cosby stops... đ
I've never been more disappointed in Cosby.
I'm pretty sure the whole decades of raping women thing might be worse than starring in a bad movie.
â@@danieldougan269those women were groupies.
Not sure how you can review a comedy routine as a motion picture. Seems kinda unusual.
I honestly want to see Leonard Part 6 to see how bad it is. Because if you were in a movie, then say to people that they shouldn't go see it, it must be bad.
Don't do it. Its one of the worst movies ever made.
I thought it was a spoof
Itâs bad and not in a fun way. Easily one of the worst films from a major studio Iâve ever seen
It's AWFUL
I watched it because of the review. And it's really bad. The few sequences with Tom Courtenay as the butler were good but the whole movie is a mess.

Roger and Gene seemed to take turns as to who could be the more sensitive, easily offended male. This time it was Roger's turn. Probably trying to make points at home. Love em both!
their pearl clutching is the one thing i always really disliked about them.
Uhh, no. They spoke for themselves only, and that's what made them the best duo that ever attempted this format of reviewing movies. If having basic empathy for people who aren't like you and standing up for them if you feel they're being dissed is so annoying to you, it says something about you, not Roger or Gene.
Two bleeding hearts.
..
"The parts that are written for Eddie Murphy, with the exception of 48 hours, really haven't been that good."
Uh, did you forget a movie called "Trading Places," Gene??? The best screenplay of 1983 next to "War Games," and Eddie's best film.
And a movie he gave a thumbs up to, as well.
Lol, this is why comment sections are so dumb. He was speaking in general terms and he was absolutely right.

Rogerâs review on Eddie Murphy: Raw was way off sucks he didnât recommend it.
Oh Roger. RAW was hilarious
Absolutely
the only bad thing about Raw for me is it is not even close as funny as Delirious :)
I hate Bill Cosby and I thought Leonard Part 6 was a masterpiece
BookNooky why

Roger is trippin over the women thing about Raw wtf glad Roger changed overtime but he said same thing about Martin You so Crazy
