I like how Ebert says Benigni is the best thing in the film and we might not ever see him in anything again. He went on to win Best Actor Oscar for Life is Beautiful.

Which Siskel didn't get to witness, because he died on February 20, 1999, and that Oscar ceremony was held a month later on March 21.

And he shouldn't have. Silly performance in a repulsive film.

A lot of people probably don't know that Ebert was actually involved in writing the script for the Sex Pistols film "Who Killed Bambi?", with director Russ Meyer. Needless to say, this film was never finished, transmogrified into The Great Rock and Roll Swindle.

Roger Ebert gave a big thumb up to Sid and Nancy a big thumbs up but years later gave The Doors thumbs down for being too depressing WTF 😒

Not really. It's kind of a snoozer.

Miss these guys-love the dynamic between them. Film critics now are just by themselves talking to the camera-- no give & take of varying views. TY

I saw an interview where John lydon says he doesn't like the movie Sid and Nancy because it glorified heroin. Idk how he came to that conclusion lol. I definitely didn't want to try any sort of opiates after seeing that as a kid!

Down by Law was hysterical. Great, off beat comedy.

so why is Color of Money rated certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes? it also give Paul Newman an Oscar.

The Oscar was basically what the Academy does when they feel to give it for a performance that may not have deserved it, but it is to make for not having given one to the performer in the past like what they did with Leonardo DeCaprio or the fact that Peter O'Toole never won a competitive Oscar and he only ever received an Honorary one.

@@Trumptydumpty978 your opinion is a disease... try "uncommon valor", the version where you can read along with the lyrics, by vinnie paz & r.a. the rugged man. insanely great. sampling, when done right, is an absolute art. like the difference between a shitty scribbled tag, & a beautiful graf mural. there's good & bad in every musical genre & to dismiss an entire style does nothing but expose the level of your ignorance. are blink 182 as good or better than the dead kennedys?
