- Is the Herman Miller Embody Worth $1500-2000? These are my pros and cons after 2 years of using it every day in my home office.

$200. . . I'm so jealous
I bought this chair a month ago. I love this thing. It’s amazing. I could be sitting at my desk all day. Zero back pain!
How’s the chair months later?
@@joncolecio Amazing. I’d buy it again. Zero complaints here
@@xenakaifinancevideos8650 is there any problems when leaning forward with the chair? I heard some issues of some people saying the lower back part of the chair poking them or something cause I like to game a lot and lean forward
@@ightimmaheadout290 I haven't had any problems leaning in the chair. People have a tough time adjusting the settings of the chair for their body
Not rich, not corporation. Purchased it new at fullprice for the 12 years amazing guarantee and the fact that ikea chairs were killing my back and causing me pain fulltime (I sit in it 12 to 14 hours a day in it).
any update, what do you think about it?
Yeah his comment about people buying this being rich is just dumb.
People being smart buy this. If your work ask you to sit a lot it's so worth, for your back health, for your comfort and for not needing a new chair every few years.
Aww, I just ordered an Aeron, I didn't know about the Embody. We use the Aeron's at the office and I've been amazed how they look brand new after 17 months and everyone spends so much time in them and that I never hear a complaint. I'm sure I will be happy with my Aeron, but would have liked to at tried sitting in the Embody. Great review, you did a very nice job explaining why you liked and covering the basic features of the chair. Thanks!
There's Aeron's v1 from the 90s still in use in many officies that are amazing condition, they mean it when they say they'll last for life
You deserve more views that was a really good quality video
Ordered this chair from herman miller for half the price through work perks. Cant wait to test it out! Thanks for the review.
how its going?
I know you are enthusiastic with the chair, especially given you paid $200. What if you had paid full retail like most people will have to if they need a chair on a timeline? thats about 9x more and changes the value proposition mightily.
Paid $600 for my Embody...13 years later still amazing. I'm over 275lbs sitting 8 hrs a day.
you got a great deal on that chair! I ended up paying the 1500.00 but after spending 200 to 300 a year on junk chairs that fall apart and my last chair sitting on 2 pillows because the cheep ass cushion fell apart, I had had enough! plus having back issues, this chair is a total blessing and to me well worth the 1500.00 thats 125.00 a year for 12yrs of warrantee. How much are co-pays for seeing a chiropractor, case n point right there, money well spent for comfort and proper lumbar support.
Hey, thanks for the review! I appreciated the extra footage showing the features you were talking about as you mentioned them. In fact, more of that would have been nice, since for the majority of the video, the majority of the chair is covered by your desk. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback. I think this is great advice!
you get full marks for getting straight to the point. No chair review video needs to be longer than this, even with the best chair on the market. Also thank you for not using what you don't like as clickbait for the video.
fr, it was a pleasure to watch this video compared to those drawn out 20 minute videos with nonsense added in
Great video! straight to the point and very informative.
Really great video, hope things pick up for you Jdog!
Bought it for 400, pictures of the chair look cool, pretty underwhelming in real life-it's made out of plastic and it's pretty crazy how comfortable it is.
At a liquidation?
I just spent $1,925 on my emobdy and saw this right afterwards...
How have you liked it?
@@joncolecio So far I like it since its comfortable but there's a lot of plastic so otherwise is great
Good review i'm going to buy this chair based on your review thank you
did you order one? did you consider the logitech embody option or aeron?
@@casperrealov I ended up getting the Herman Miller Mirra 2 Triflex Office Chair was cheaper but it would be dope to own the Herman Miller Embody chair in the near future.
Great review. I too go my Embody chair used. In my case I got it at a surplus auction for $50. I have gotten my chair serviced twice both times in warranty. Herman Miller doesn’t check proof of purchase and mainly goes off of manufacturing date.
Awesome! Thank you for the tip!
buying it from a non-large-city reseller usually is much cheaper, around 700-950$ for any configuration new. Second hand usually cost 500$ but warranty is only 1 year.
worth
6 months in and I hate my embody. Still trying to figure out why I can't feel comfortable in it. Doesn't it make your head look downwards when you sit in it? I'm having upper back and neck pain because of that and my desk and screen are really on the low side. If I make the back lean more backwards, it makes me slide down the chair lol and hurts my tailbone.
I've been hunting for a used one at a good price for ages lol, great review though
comment is from 8 months ago, did you find one?
Casper Realov bought one new through the recent hm sale for a little over 800
@@Protostar9 dang, ive been looking at these for months i never saw a sale that would drop it to 800.The closest to that, that i have seen from the hm website was like 1100 before tax
@@Protostar9 that is what I ended up doing. Though , no sale. Just plunged and said F it. Should be here in a couple days.
@@dillontube1 It's been a month, how is it mate?
the warranty may not be transferable but if the chair still has the sticker on it you could still try and claim warranty they dont ask for id from what ive read
Fantastic review • Thank you for it • I’ve been on the fence about getting exactly this model chair • I am building a super computer for the upcoming release of Microsoft Flight Simulator and I’m going all out in this and want a super comfortable chair that also looks cutting edge • Your no frills no chills review helped me make up my mind • Now going in I know the quality of these chairs as I own an Aeron and have been using it for years, best chair I have ever owned • Thanks man • Good job!!!
Gustavo A. Rios You still keeping your Aeron? Lol
Zach Mason - Hell Yeah, best office chair I have ever owned!!!
Gustavo A. Rios Did you end up getting the embody? I’ve been looking into either the Aeron or Embody (trying to find a good deal) and i’m on the fence for whether the embody is worth the higher price over the aeron.
I just wish the back went a bit higher. I like resting my head back from time to time.
Waiting for atlas headrest - it is happening !
@@grzib still not happen
@@zeroh3049 true 😩
Very good video! Short, concise feedback.
One remark (also for other viewers): if it is easy to adjust the chair, you will adjust it more often and even get more value (or the perception) out of it. So saying that "you do it on the initial setup", is a bit telling. I'm using the Steelcase Gesture (similar pricepoint, yada yada), and it's the first chair where I regularly use the adjustments, particularly how far back it tilts, and the arm rests.
If I ever get a chance, I'll try to sit on the Embody, too!
Thank you, you helped me to decide, I’ll get one of this!
Good review. But seriously need to put in perspective. 2500-3000 in Canada now gouging worse.
You can buy a decent car for this, a great bicycle, really great laptop, 200 cases of beer, rent for two months on a decent apt in Calgary. This is a chair people! A frikin chair!!!!
I love the incredibly complicated math problems on the board behind you.
2 x 500 = 1000
1 x 100 = 100
😂
Hi Justin what desk you are using in the video as it has curved and tampered edge with a kind of maple table top. I am looking a similar standing desk. Please share the brand.
nice video thank you!
Hi Justin, do you have pictures of the seat after 2 years of use? Did it start to cave in over time or is it still very flat like when you first bought it? Thanks
Hey There, I am on year 3 now and the fabric and all the support in the seat and back still look and feel as if they were new. I have needed to clean the fabric a few times but it still looks perfect even after scrubbing and using cleaners.
I just bought a used one with same color combination and the guy told me it was a 2016 and I was wondering what year is your chair
all the chairs should have a sticker saying when it was manufactured.
Nice review
I still can't find someone near me that sell for under 1k...... where to look?
Pandemic has made those types of deal next to impossible to find becuase everyone is looking for high end chairs to work from home
I bought this new.. day 1 I was really disappointed because I believe it took my back some time to adjust to the chair along with getting it adjusted properly. Day 4 and its finally starting to feel worth the money.
Still debating on it a bit but once it starts feeling good its such a nice chair.
How are things now? Still getting some backpain in it in my first few days
What color is this chair? berry blue rhythm? or peacock rhythm??
Thanks for the video. For anyone who are experienced in using the Embody - My back fit adjustment knob is stuck in one place and is not turning. Is there any fix that anybody can recommend? (It stopped working within 5 minutes of receiving the chair after a few adjustments)
why don't you just use your warranty ??? Everything is covered by Herman Miller.
Well this thing seems expensive as fuck at the first view, but they promise you a 12 year waranty! How is the chair doing 2 1/2 years later? I consider buying one. When corona and all this homeoffice madness started i was cheap and bought a common gaming chair and I simply hate it right now, but my back and my ass hate it even more
I wish you could adjust separately "how easy it is to push the back" from "how easy it is to tilt the chair" instead of having a single knob for both
whats your height and weight?
Hello, currently i am considering to purchase this chair, but i see the back of this chair is made of plastic, so i am wondering is it strong enough to hold a heavy weight person's back ? is the plastic strong enough? i am 6 feet, weight 220 LB, can this chair support my back well? or its easy to break it ? any recommendation is appriciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😁
When I bought this chair I was 225 and I had no problems with it. I'm not 190 but the support feels the same. The amount of back support can be adjusted for how much weight you put on it.
I tried one not too long ago, it was okay, its not worth the full price. I went with a Leap V2, got it for $328, so you getting that for $200, you scored big time. One chair I have not tried it the Gesture, tried the Aeron, and the Embody. I also know a place that sell used and offer a 5 year warranty.
what place??!! shhhh your secret is safe with me!
@@donemiofficial National Office Liquidators
sup buy it for life browsers
I got mine for 100 dollars on offerup. IDK if the guy stole it or something but anyway I took the opportunity. Just keep looking and maybe you guys will find a good offer.
I bought the Logitech version of this chair for $1100 shipped to my door brand new on eBay. Lol.
Are you liking it so far?
that's definitely not a negative for you... c'mon lol
something that you're going to sit in for 10 hours+/day.... i don't see how this isn't a sound financial investment. you spend over 1k on a couch, no?
How tall are you?
If it breaks don’t tell them you bought it used.
Is it worth $900 from Madison seating?
I’d say yes but I just had my order for that chair cancelled by them
@@themoldy Did they give you a reason why? I was also recommended to check out the Autonomous ErgoChair 2. Significantly cheaper and apparently also very comfortable. My main thing is that this is going in my home office where I do a lot of lean back and chill sitting and my big TV is just to the left of my desk where I have my consoles and gaming PC hooked up so I will almost every night turn and put my feet up on an ottoman, lean back and play games for an hour or two.
I considered something like those Serta smart layer chairs that look SUPER plush but the more I read about those chairs with tons of pillow like padding, the more I read that it's actually not that good for your back for long-term sitting.
I think the headrest of the ErgoChair is a big draw (other than the price). I am surprised no one has made a headrest for the Embody but it's not a deal breaker as no headrest would keep me from falling asleep in the chair (which I have a tendency to do in my current one)
it is amazing …how all the bloggers get for 200 or 150 USD herman millers…SMH!
0:35 rich people with rich farts💨
No headrest
Headrests aren't ergonomically correct that's why.
how tall are you?
6 foot 2
Having no headrest, my wallet is happy
i dont understand why government gets such a bad rap wasting taxpayer money when corporations literally build in wasting money into their pricing lol
$200 I hate you so much XD
i feel should pain
it hurts that you paid $200.
i got one for 100 USD haha.
2k chair without headrest and very limitted armrest adjustment. Hype! P.S some high end math on a board right there
only three people get those chairs: rich people, coorporations and the poor people wanting to get the good things that rich have without making as much money as they do.
4 - people who get drunk and blind order ( like me )
@@garybrown5769 well, there's a return policy in every part of the world... no excuses to keep the chair
Oh I love mine , made a massive difference to my back , I just needed Dutch Courage !
And people who value their back, or learned to value it after getting injuried and feeling how every milimeter counts.
Dont be a dick.
Don't ignore the fact that some people are willing to invest in their health and thus are willing to spend the money on a quality chair.
for 2 years, that's all you have to say?? lol
Why do you want a 45 minute review?
Maybe you want to know all the times he farted on the chair? Did the farts go through the base seat?
Maybe you would like to know if he ever got a lap dance on this herman miller chair? How did the dance experience perform?
I'm drawing blanks, what else do you need to know other than this quick and to the point basic but detailed review?
