It was inevitable that the police would eventually turn up. I've been watching from the start of these channels and the driving has got stupidly worse
@@Meltaholics I'm a millennial and he's right either way. I've seen a few skids just before entry in past videos. A car overturns in the middle of that ford on a moderately wet day, and that's game over for all inside it.
Yes they definitely have. It’s gone from fun to stupid and potentially fatal with the speeds that they approach. Especially when there are sometimes children being allowed to play on the waters edge. Which is completely irresponsible.
Only a matter of time
@@Meltaholics it's 2022, boomer is now a stereotype for a sane person. Fffffanks for identifying as an imbecile, Georgyboay.
youtubers causing more problems that good as always
It’s been going on since before these channels even existed.
No BMWs were harmed in the making of this video. Amazing.
6:00 First time I've seen a grenadier on British roads. I must admit it's a lot smaller than I expected!
That's because it's the EV version.
And it's also euro spec for our roads
They’ve only sold one!
That’s what she said
The cops probably been watching your channel were were like "Hey we could get some speeders there!" The duck escaping was funny, as was the tiny RC truck & the Jag at the end going NOPE
Yep, the little RTX RC stole the show towards the end 😄
We just wanna see people nailing it through breaking their cars or the police failing to chase them
I'm sure I could see rust forming on the Jag until he turned back 😉
Unless it's a 20 limit I doubt anyone is speeding.
@@bergeracvandamme it’s 30
As much as it started a bit of fun it's now become a dangerous situation am not surprised the police is getting involved
* are *
Now the old man rasta's turned up to antagonise, with his 'rights to'.
Shut up
Can't blame the police for turning up, things were getting dangerous. What did people expect, the minority always spoil the fun. I like watching for the breakdowns personally not idiots who think they are racing drivers.
If people want to take personal risks driving *at or below the speed limit* into a ford then let them. If people are speeding then obviously that's a different matter.
@@bergeracvandamme Hitting deep water at even 30 or 20 mph could see it aquaplane into the spectators or into an oncoming vehicle not spotted because of the corner on entry! Speed limits are not accurate for the constantly changing hazards a vast majority of the time and are not representative of what's safe and what's not.
Look up advanced driving, limit points, etc. If the level taught by RoSPA and the IAM were made the minimum there would be no need for speed limits anywhere, yet the maximum safe speed for a specific set of conditions, vehicle and driver combination wouldn't change regardless of whether it was a 20, 30, 60 or 100 mph speed limit. You could make it legal to do 100 mph here and it would still be lethal do even think about entering even relatively shallow water at anything over 10 mph (be it lethal for your engine, spectators, other drivers or yourself) and every driver doing so would still be prosecutable for driving without due care and attention or dangerous driving with the complete absence of a speed limit, the point where drivers should be prosecuted for the speed they're driving, when it is specifically driving too fast for the conditions, not just over what some group of politicians thought would look good on a sign to pretend they're doing something meaningful about bad driving. If a car is fast enough, you could safely accelerate up to 50 mph between the ford and the curve to the right beyond that idiotic sign saying 'it's 30 for a reason', but with the closed view of that corner you'd probably not want to be going around there at more than 40 mph in case you need to slow or stop for an oncoming truck, slower in a larger vehicle that takes longer to stop and would absolutely need to if you met another of similar size, by which point even 30 mph is too fast for the conditions for such a vehicle. If you start driving as if speed limits don't exist you'd become a much better driver. Instead of looking at a sign for the number some idiot thinks is good and checking if you match it, you'd pay far more attention to parked cars, driveways, etc and thinking 'what could appear from there or behind that that I would need to avoid, can I drive around it or stop in the space I have' and suddenly you'll not be going as fast when it counts. I, as you can probably tell, have little consideration for what the signs say, yet when I have had a child run out in front of me from a parked car as they were trying to catch a school bus on the other side of the road, I stopped as gently as if I was stopping for a changing traffic light with traffic following close behind.
Another little fact for you. In 1930 all speed limits were abolished, so if you could achieve 80mph in/on whatever vehicle you had, on that basis alone it was legal to do so through towns and everywhere else. With this fact in mind, how do you think the road deaths statistics changed for that year? If speed limits are so important to safety like you seem to suggest, then a vast increase in the death toll would be expected? Well, deaths actually fell that year by around 800. 800 fewer people died on the road in the year immediately after all speed limits were removed. Like I said above, without limits you don't look to signs for 'safe speed', you look at the conditions and solely drive according to them. This would require more education now as decades of 'don't exceed XX' has replaced proper driving education, which is likely why you have videos of people plowing into thick fog on motorways at 70 mph and the inevitable huge pileups. There is nothing in driving education here for how vehicles react in different weather and surface conditions except some hideously inaccurate numbers in the highway code for braking and reaction distances and stupid 'only a fool breaks the two second rule' to 'cover' this subject. The vehicle and driver combo even in identical conditions have vastly different stopping distances, brand new vs broken in vs worn tyres and brakes, how many people and how much stuff is in the car, even how much fuel is in the tank all increase or decrease stopping distance, never mind when the road's wet, dusty, mucky, frozen, recently been resurfaced, rough, has significant tramlines from heavy traffic or adverse camber. All this has a huge impact on following distance, following a lighter car you need to leave more space as they will stop sooner, following a heavier vehicle you technically don't need to leave as much, but behind a large vehicle you need to leave more to ensure you're visible to its driver and can see past it to see the potential hazard it will need to slow for instead of only reacting to their emergency stop to start braking yourself.
Germany has mandatory skidpan training in the basic test, what I think should be the case here too, but even that isn't specific enough. You need to gain experience in a controlled environment of what worn tyres react like compared to new, likewise for brakes, different types of surfaces and how different vehicles and loading affects how you are able to stop.
@@markwright3161 Shut the f****** if I'm driving slower than the posted speed limit you can f*** right off
@@markwright3161 weird how none of the cars hydroplaned then huh? Also if you want to stand and record a puddle all day it's ur own fault if u get hit.
@@ThatOneGuyWithTheEye Plenty have noticeably, and plenty more will have done that isn't obvious on camera.
Standing next to water increases your chances of getting wet, but it's perfectly legal for someone to walk from on side to the other without any intent to film or be involved, yet poor timing could see them be killed by an out of control driver just as easily as someone who has been standing there for weeks. It isn't their fault if they get hit, and standing near the ford doesn't make it their fault either. They can't control how drivers approach the water so it's fully the responsibility of the driver to ensure they don't lose control and kill someone. If a car lost control going through there and hit a lamppost, sign or wall, would it be the sign's fault for being stationary where their car happened to go? Of course not. The driver has the rwsonsability to not hit stationary road furniture, same goes for pedestrians. The only time the pedestrian plays a part in being hit is if they dove into the path of the car as it approached, something none of the spectators are doing here.
It was cool to see that old GMC Suburban in the video! Probably don’t see too many of those in the UK.
Not on a daily basis, but you'd be amazed the amount of old american iron that turn up to shows. This year I saw a Kaiser Darrin at a show here in the UK.
Loads of Americans working at Lakenheath get their trucks shipped over and after a while realise they’re impractical in most British towns so they trade them in.
When my second cousin returned to live in the Basque Country(Spain)after living almost 15 years in Nevada,USA,he shipped his U.S made Isuzu Rodeo wagon, and continued driving it for several more years.
3:16 The duck has great reactions. It’s like a WWII dogfight clip, with the duck weaving out of the way just in time.
I think the duck called the police on them :D
Surprised to see that GMC, although I'm glad it is in the UK 🇬🇧, it will well looked after.
Also glad the police is going after drivers as one almost killed a duck 🦆!
It's also a LHD
@@jeffrycarrascal It was obviously imported from the US 🇺🇸.
@@frothe42 you can obviously convert LHD to RHD
@@jeffrycarrascal I think it would be extremely expensive to convert.
You would need a new dash, move accelerator and brake pedals, etc.
We do import RHD vehicles, but they have to be over a certain age.
Thanks, yes it was imported from california
Pro Tipp for the police: station one guy with a Walkie-Talkie at the ford and two each at the end of the village. Petrol is expensive these days
This probably won't work if the case goes to court. The driver might have changed. Unless the village is really small or the control location is in sight.
Tom, Hope you had fun with these videos while they lasted. Once word gets around that police are now doing random patrols of the area. It will close this chapter of shenanigans at Rufford Ford.
Hope so tbh, someone innocent is gonna get hurt
Not likely. Pretty easy to drive through cautiously then see no cop and give it full send both ways.
Can’t see why you think the police will change the number of idiots drowning their cars?
Cops don't even try to prevent something. Lol
A simple remedy for traffic control is placing a speed bump on both ends of the road with a warning sign placed beforehand.
Agreed, this looks like a lot of fun but c'mon guys, you don't need to hit that water at full speed! Have fun but please be careful.
That GMC Suburban was lovely!!
Thank you

Quite right re the police. Been too many over-excited numpties and near accidents.
Jag man has sense.
Good sense is a rare commodity these days.
Driving an old Jag in the rain is a gamble
I'm glad he does too. That XJS is gorgeous
It's about time the police were involved with the idiots driving way to fast through the Ford...
Cry more?

This piece of flooded road must be the most filmed and notoriously action-ridden piece of flooded road in the world!
Must be
Like catching fish when the salmon are running. Perfect, thanks Tom😂
I can guarantee if the where a accident and a child go injured or worse everyone would be saying the police should have done something before it got this far
Hiding in a side road isn't doing much to prevent that from happening, if the police made themselves visible drivers would slow down
@@4Kandlez fair point but if they are visible they just slow down when see police where when not there might think twice and to be fair there a police car sitting on ten side road a lot time does not slow people down
So the police are not visible so put the foot down you not be caught only slow down when you see the police car
1:15 He’s brave, taking a Sprinter through there!
Looked like it was a 4x4 one , slight lift kit on them .
I drove my sprinter through floods, some about 2ft deep and never had an issue
The highlight is the little RC car 😂
Some of those drivers where reckless and dangerous.
Both of you are old farts that dont want kids on your lawns let people have fun for god sakes
You would be too if you and everyone in your neighborhood has flooded a vehicle in the same spot. Shame on the government for not fixing the issue. Double shame for showing up and pulling people over.
I'M SOOOOOOOOO pleased the police are there, I've wanted this for ages. I think they are going to get banned for dangerous driving, bloody amazing work. Well done :)

Great to see police presence at this location. On this video alone I’ve seen many dangerous situations potentially causing harm .
People don't even have the freedom of ruining their own vehicles 🤣🤣 what kind of times we live in
Nice to see the police in attendance. With a few exceptions, most were driving like Richard Edwards.

That police is catching no one at that speed 😂
They are driving through the ford correctly... Wtf do you want them to do?
Anybody who gets caught by them obviously can't drive very quickly. I'd be long gone before they'd even pulled out.
The British police once succeeded in catching someone.
It was a snail. 🐌 😂
@@CiaraOSullivan1990 If only there was a way of the police being able to track you down? They should invent some sort of plate with letters and numbers on to be able to identify you and have it on the front and back of every vehicle so they can radio ahead to another police car half a mile down the road. Oooh if only.
3:19 That duck is screaming "fu**" in a british accent yio 😂
2:14 holy mother of goodness, a good ol GMC Suburban 1500! My 82 year old grandfather has one but his is beige and has like less than 60k miles and it's a 1996. He only uses it to tow his boat(s) and drives it every now and then to keep the fluids and all going. I'm from and live in America, so I see a lot of those around.
This is still an accident waiting to happen
I really love these vids, thank you guys
I like the camera or mic that you use for record this video. Love the quality of sound when vehicles pass by❤
I just love seeing all the tiny pickups making splashes
So instead of staying visible warning people to slow down preventing any accidents, they hide and wait for it, even if that means letting an accident happen. Great!!! On the other hand, i think they (cops) find this fun :)
It's about raising money and bolstering the "crime" figures, if it was about safety the useless coppers would stop them as they approached the ford.
@@kw8757 Yep seems like that.
Smart little Lupo!
It's good to see the police getting involved there. No doubt they were pointing the lidar at the drivers before the puddle. It's a 30 MPH zone. Once they have the speed display on the lidar its pretty well an open and shut case where a puddle splash could be argued.
good job T-dawg! much love from sweden
Finally the Police is showing up.
I have been waiting so long for this.
not sure why you watch these videos if you do not like seeing vehicles splashing through water .
@@kevinstevens8910 People watch these posts to laugh at idiots who destroy their vehicles by having no idea how to approach a high running water course. Not to watch idiots behaving like the speeding motorists in this episode. It not big, it's not clever, and it's downright dangerous.

Love this channel 😍💪
I’m pretty sure there is a law of the road regarding Fords that when a vehicle is oncoming you do not speed up and create a splash or huge bow wave that can cover the oncoming car. Please correct me if I’m wrong 😬
1. You cannot splash person deliberately
2. You must have control of Your car all time (aquaplanning)
3. Driving too fast through the ford - can be classified as dangerous driving (+6 points to license)
I think you're right. But that law also applies to Vauxhalls, too.
@@stanley3647 Crap. No splashing rule means everyone is going to jail!
@@stanley3647 Dangerous Driving also comes with a mandatory disqualification for at least 12 months and you must take an extended test. There is the lesser offence of driving without due care and attention, but many of the drivers on the video are deliberately driving twice the limit and treating it like an offroad / racetrack.
I wonder if England is so civilized why not make a bridge even in hick central USA you would never find something like this
and that XJS right at the end :), trying to work out if it was a V12. Earlier V12s have a flatter bonnet, the 3.6s, due to the height of the engine, have a bonnet bulge to accommodate the engines height.
