In this video, we’re going to talk about red meat. Is red meat good for you, or is red meat bad for you?
Many of the well known so-called dangers of eating red meat don’t seem to hold up.
I don’t recommend consuming any processed meats. I recommend consuming organic grass-fed meat. Grass-fed red meat is not going to cause serious issues.
There are certain toxic chemicals that are generated when you heat protein, especially if you heat it with sugar on it like barbecue sauce. It’s best if you don’t overly cook red meat because the more you heat the meat, the more chemicals there can be.
You can also lessen these chemicals by adding:
    • Mustard
    • Garlic
    • Black pepper
    • Herbs (basil, hot pepper, oregano, rosemary)
People who already have excess iron may have a big problem with consuming red meat because it’s loaded with iron. Iron can accumulate and become toxic if a person consumes too much. If you’re consuming red meat and you don’t feel well after, you should have your iron tested because you may have iron overload.
    Iron can affect the:
    • Heart
    • Brain
    • Liver
Genetic conditions that can make iron overload worse:
    • Hemochromatosis
    • Beta thalassemia
    • Sickle cell
    Action steps:
    • Don’t overly cook meat
    • Consume grass-fed organic red meat
    • Get your iron checked
    • EDTA
    • If you have one of the genetic conditions above, you may want to donate blood
    • Avoid: supplements with iron, fortified foods, alcohol, iron cookware

      @mydogskips2 Před 4 lety +9

+Tara VanDeVen I'm sorry, but common sense isn't enough here. And what even is common sense when it comes to food consumption? Is it common sense that red meat is bad? How is it common sense? It's not common sense so much as a widely held belief based on what some supposed authority has told us. Everything we think we know comes from "experts," scientists and researchers doing studies and reporting their findings, these are the opinions, evidence-based if you want, that are passed on to the rest of us average folks to shape our notions about food and supposedly inform our decisions. So there is no common sense, just widely disseminated beliefs held about food based on what someone who supposedly knows more about it tells us is true. But this video points out how clear it is that what we're being told is at best an oversimplification.

Eat less red meat. 2. Exercise. 3. Eggs. With the eggs I understand that for each egg eaten it reduces the uptake of iron by 25%. So far I have not had to have blood taken off.

To avoid metal pots: Corning Vision glass pots and skillets (frying pans) can be used on stove TOP. Gas or wood stove is the healthiest. Corning Vision pots come in many sizes and designs. Nothing beat those. The heat goes through very quickly, so one must use a little bit less heat and turn off a minute before, let it cool down for 1/2 minute before to empty the pot completely from liquid, as it might otherwise burn. Lemon acid and crystal soap can be used in those pots to clean them when burnt.

@Laura Croft spinach is full of oxalates which prevent much iron from being absorbed, but what is will not be heme, it will be elemental iron, which is toxic. That is why he is saying red meat is a good source of good iron. It is already packaged in the right protein, and the human body easily absorbs it. There are even heme receptors in the digestive tract.
