I honestly think Going Commando had better worlds, weapons, and battle arenas.
But Dr. Nefarious is all kinds of awesome.
I agree with the worlds, but nah the weapons were overall a lot better in this game.
Yeah, UYA had some of the best weapons ever

Fun fact one of the level designers got in trouble for using the color purple too much, and it wasn't the guy that did the Courtney Gears level.

So some are saying the GUI is more yellow than orange.....It kinda looks that way doesnt it? Personally its more of a Tuscany Sunrise if ya ask me. Real talk tho, either it be orange or yellow......it aint blue thats for sure!

+Nathaniel Foga I never really enjoyed the Clank parts of the games, especially the Giant Clank stuff. It wasn't til A Crack in Time where the clank stuff was fun and interesting. I also enjoyed the Clank stuff in Into the Nexus. So hopefully the new game will have some good Clank content. Not sure if SuperButterBuns just doesn't like the Clank gameplay like me, or if there is more to it.

When a ranger gets the nickname cabin boy for trying to take on a Robotic Ghost Pirate with a Quack-O-Ray and a Half Charged Crotchitiser, I feel an obligation to help that ranger. For real I love their missions those guys were just brilliant.

It was also the first of the ratchet & clank series to have some sort of multiplayer gameplay.
Followed up by ratched and clank gladiator which had Co-Op.
+The Man With The Game Plan Yeah, over here all we got for titles was R&C, R&C 2, R&C 3, and the Future Trilogy wasn't R&C Future, it was just R&C if that makes any sense.

- Ratchet wasn't wrong when after Qwark's betrayal he said Clank spent the entire time searching for Qwark and really didn't know anything about him
- Secret Agent Clank - just about everything I dislike about Clank comes into how he treats Ratchet when SAC is involved

I'm not ashamed to admit, I liked that Courtney Gears song. I was listening to it on repeat a few weeks ago for like 4 hours at work.
Let me tell you that I loved the video! Loved the sense of humour, loved the editing and loved the channel!

No need to force the "I'm too cool for this game" this game series is gold because it was played by now adults who were kids by then. I played the heck out of this one as a kid, but if I played this now without the nostalgia, might've played once only

2>3 in my opinion. Those fucking robot missions were a turn off.
Tip for Aquatos' sewers; Use the Disk Blade gun. I just unload that thing in the beginning of the sewers and thirty minutes later they're still floating around somewhere. Plus; Since everything is all tubey, they're perfect to launch around.

honestly buns your my favorite youtuber.
I'm no beginner, in fact I have a higher number of "R"s in this game than I am old, but I still enjoy this and other similar videos because of your brilliant commentary with the extensive attention to detail. It really brings me back to the days when I first played these games. I always feel a special sense of joy whenever someone acknowledges the existence of these, the jak and daxter, and the sly cooper games just because they were such a big part of my childhood. It seems the golden age of ps1 and 2 platforming is often overlooked these days which is sad seeing as a bullshit series like call of duty is still being manufactured by the year. Love this series, hope you keep it up. #BringBackPlatformersForPlaystation

I loved the galactic ranger quests!
The Galactic Ranger missions are my favorite part of all of Ratchet and Clank.
The orange interface is so freaking aesthetically pleasing.

I really liked the Ranger sections. It made me feel like I was actually part of a galactic military.
My two main problems were that 1) it was a tad short, but given that any longer and it might have dragged on, I can forgive this, and 2) I would have liked more section with the Terraguise and the laser gadget thing. I really liked them and would have liked more of them then all the hacker sections they had.

Dude the whip weapon this this game was my jazz.

This game was my entry into the series.
Missions can be annoying...but are great to level weapons. Unlike the planets the missions don't get reduced enemy quantity after clearing them the 1st time
3 used to be my favourite but overplaying and the sheer fact of it being straight up easy to beat made it one of the toughest ones for me to get the full way through in the past few years but 2 is perfection. Controls are ironed out weapons are pretty good maybe not as good as 1 and the levels are difficult enough that you have to pay attention in order to get by unlike 3 with the plasma storm or that really annoying rynocerator flash

I always alternated Lock Strafe and Third Person mode. Some of the shooty bits are really fun in Lock Strafe, but some weapons like the Plasma Whip and Lava Gun work way better in Third Person.
So this is why I couldn't see a third For Beginners of Ratchet and Clank, it released three days ago! ^^
I also liked that joke you semi-did, Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arse.

For R&C neophytes, I'd recommend starting with the first game and playing them in order. (Once you're used to strafing, it's hard to go back to the first game where the feature was absent). The first game is great, but Going Commando added a few welcome improvements (and things that were omitted from the first game for budget/time reasons like the spherical worlds). Up Your Arsenal is probably equally good as the 2nd game, but Going Commando will forever be my favourite (it was my first PS2 game).
But having said that, my two favourite cut-scenes in the whole franchise are in R&C3; The bit where Ratchet mimes the Courtney Gears music video, and the Dr Nefarious monologue where Lawrence hilariously translates into sign language.
Im pretty sure Dr. Nefarious is also Buffy's second principal in BTVS. That was the one thing that surprised me.

did you play the multiplayer in the PS2 days, and did you host glitch lobbies? What was your user name? If you're the person I'm thinking of, it's been a very long time and I'm glad I found you. I had a ton of fun when I was younger Drag-n-jumping and climbing out of bounds and stuff.

Its strange how I played this game first before Going Commando. It was such a fun game. The feels.
I did too, but only because the going commando disc my parents bought me was scratched and I couldnt get past the arena. So i gave up, played up your arsenal, and then some time later I got a better copy that I could actually finish lol

I saw someone else suggest it- but how about Sly Cooper series? It'd fit along with the whole PS2 platforming theme. Plus you know, it's a neat game.
I guess something they did new in this game was give you a central base with that star ship you keep coming back to, as well as those quirky (Quarky?) Captain Quark 2D sidescroller segments.
I agree there's less and less to talk about. From this point they mostly just tweaked the controls, like it was either this game or the game after that they finally just decided, instead of having us hold down strafe 24/7, they'd just add a toggle.
