To be honest, I like the touchwiz icons and the Samsung Experience. Too bad they changed Samsung Experience for One UI.

my mom used to had a phone that had touchwiz, i think it had android gingerbread on it and it was really cool to see after 4 years (early '23) that i could do more with it and see more into the phone. I actually tried to root it before but i was really scared lol

I used Android KitKat 4.4.2 on my Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom. It had a different Camera app icon, and it is used as the camera emoji on Samsung phones. It was slightly changed alongside the camera with flash emoji on One UI 3.1.1 to have the lens shifted to the right.

Touchwiz is specialized to be in nostalgia
Experience specialized in neon light simplicity
And one ui specialized in simple and fun looking

To me, Experience just looks weird and more like a draft than a finished design. I was so happy when Samsung came up with One Ui, love the look and the smooth design with rounded corners and bright colors :)
Experience was Samsung trying out material design. One UI is Samsung pushing the limits of Material design.

The TouchWiz icons that they put in the video are the icons from the NatureUX version in 2012, it would have been better if they had put the icons from the GraceUX version from 2015, so there would have been a better resemblance between the customization layers, due to the shape and color of the icons...
tbh I have used all the three UI and I like them all personally I like the experience/oneui but touchwiz looks good as well. The only fault of touchwiz was it ran great on good hardware but bad on its budget version, soon it was fixed by oneui tho

I believe One UI started rolling out in H2 2018, so Samsung Experience only lived for about a year and a half.

My Galaxy S5 still runs "Touchwiz" if you want to be technical, and the battery is still really good on it too. brought it brand new all those years ago + with S case.
I also used galaxy S5. It was colorful icon❤

I think the One UI is the best looking. Experience is confusing and TouchWiz looks outdated.

The text message icon for Samsung Experience was blue on the S9 and Note 9.
Same with my old phone, the J2 Core
Samsung changed it going from Android 8.0 to 8.1
@@riboiman4005 well the S7, S8 and Note 8 kept the orange text message icon when they were updated to Oreo.
i saw a lot of One UI icons in Experience
Touchwiz and older UIs i miss with their 3d detailed looks, modern icons seem too flat and too simple, and everything looks the same at a glance. but i guess its probably faster and cheaper to design and easier on the eyes when you have a lot of icons on a small screen
I mean, as displays improved and phones became more popular, there was a need for scalable icons. The old 3D icons were not scalable so easily.
The newer icons while not look nice, they are instantly recognisable

@@sabs1970 i got an old note 10 that i cracked the glass on i so wish i could root/replace rom but its one that basically is too brickable to try as its the U firmware. although i am going to try and make it into a cyberdeck,

@@rainbowshremyWhy don't you understand that Samsung is rolling out newer App versions to older Android versions as well. Your device name doesn't matter at all. You could have a J1,2,3,4,5 pro lite max etc.. if it runs Android 8 or 9 it is eligable for newer versions of Mail or Calculator. Samsung ain't Apple

TouchWiz was best when icons were roundable (galaxy s5, s6 s7, j5, j6, j7. Every icon was unique and colorful.
Then, one UI. Bad side, some apps color are similar.
Then experience. It was weired icon design.

I HOPE SAMSUNG WILL BRING BACK THOSE ICONS BUT IN GOOD LOCK MODULE
You can use them now, just get theme park (good lock module) and then you can create an icon theme, but the downside is that you need to download each icon separately, and they need to have transparent backgrounds to work, I did the same but with the samsung experience, and it worked in the end. 😊
