I think what most people miss from this movie is that Jor-El put the codex inside baby Kal-El. That means that Superman isn't a scientist class Kyptonian. He is a Kyrptonian soldier, doctor, judge, teacher, librarian, farmer, general, poet, ect, ect. Superman is every kind of Kyrptonian there is, all at the same time. He's a Superman even for a Kyrptonian.
Everyone : Wait Whaaaaaaat ?!???!!!?
Me : No No, he's got a point !!! 🤔🤔🤔
@RICH KID no
Really? I missed that but it does make sense, thank you.
@@TheLottolandus Basically codex chooses which who ever ya child will be and programs them to that. The Codex programming is put in Kal-el so technically he is everything
@@daame1 which means kal el can be categorized as the most perfect kryptonian, he can already pass as a new god since the is probably the strongest kyrptonian that ever lived
Krypton's destruction is beyond words. The visuals and the music makes everything epic. Man of Steel is the best Superman film of the century.
Micah Johansson its the only superman film in this century, so I guess you're right
@@Zeldamarie1482 Superman Returns, but it wasn't THAT good.

Micah Johansson I agree.
Golo not true. There was a Superman movie in 78? One in 04 I think.

@Trollge Cultist 2.0 jor el's pet dragon
@Sh(i)t humor good boi
God the scene of him running out as the battle of krypton rages in the background is epic.
Celestialz I agree. Great movie.
Yeah its a good thing that multiverse is canon. The "Man of Steel" is canon. Thanks for the intervention of the 2 Flash - 1 from the Justice League Movie & the other from The Flash (Arrowverse). After Crisis on Infinite Earths.
I feel bad for his dragon, they clearly had soul-bonded.
u mean they had magic hair sex?
Sluuut!!!
Slut dragon
You guys 😆
@citizen1994 Unfortunately I read it too.
crazy how the CGI here is immensely better than in justice league...
Caz justice league CGI was done my avengers guy
this is zack snyder's work. Justice league was Joss Whedon's work. that's why we need Zack Snyder to reboot the justice league
Who knows how much Money Disney gave Whedon so the movies would end in disasters...
justice league is a CURSED movie
@Daxteract u mean, Whedon League
Jor El is pretty fighty for a scientist, but that's just natural if you have Russell Crowe playing him lol
He was bred to be a scientist but his belief of being more than society intended led him to pursue multiple crafts, he learned combat, and a bunch of other stuff. He is just a certified badass essentially.
He’s literally smarter than all of humanity combined...
Aren't you entertained?
Ever heard of Gordon Freeman?
Is it possible that he was in the military before his career as a scientist? Or he WAS a scientist trained/worked in the military simultaneously which would explain his fighting skills? Probably someone who was natural at combat but leaned towards intellectual pursuits.
Harakka basically saved the universe because without him Superman would never had made it to earth.
@@richardnelson1013
Basically Superman is the enemy.
@Ho La what
Jor El’s weak ass pull out game is what saved the Universe. There would be no Kal El if it wasn’t for that WAP.
I mean jor el spent his entire life trying to save krypton and could’ve send superman anyway without codex but problem is zod would use it to revive krypton.
@@drink15 Lara do be kinda fine though ngl
this movie is already 7 years old but the quality of its visual is still stunning even if compared to recent movies
Makes you think If this genetic material was in a skull that glows, was their an ultimate kryptonian that predated superman, someone with power and skill they wanted to be remnant in every kryptonian to come.
Say what you want about Snyder, his visual filmmaking is amazing.
Lmao it's only been 7 years it's not that far, Avatar is 11 years old, KING KONG is almost 16 years old and it's CGI looks fresh af.
I love how he's supposed to be a scientist but he legit gives everyone the work in every fight he's in 😂
Pure kryptonian blood.
He was bred to be a scientist, but as krypton goes to shit, He had to learn combat and craft. Smart people always knows how to defend and attack
Wouldn’t be surprised if Zod taught him a thing or two back when they were friends.
He was a military scientists wasn't he? Makes sense he'd have combat training.
This is the Superman movie I always wanted. Shit load of emotions.
I agree this is a beautiful film ❤️
@BlackPumaman LOL. Takes one to know one.

@@chaudcarte Nah. Any movie is up to opinion on how good it is. Everyone likes a movie that either someone or some very large group dont like or agree with.
Imagine everybody is driving a car or hi-tech spaceship. But instead of having one, you have a dragon.
I would be one those dragon drivers 😆
It is versatile than a machine.
Its like having a horse instead of a car… a horse can jump a fence!
no one can hack a dragon, jor el knew this himself because he designed spaceships, and then his consciousness hacked one later
Sooner or later people are going to realise that this movie was a masterpiece
Yeah, since it came out I wondered why people thought it was ''bad'', it is a goddamn masterpiece, from perfromance, to vfx and the soundtrack. This movie alone can take the whole MCU
I wouldn't go that far. It has a few major hiccups but it's miles better than anything else in the dceu
let's calm down there
@@oman1854 it is a masterpiece in CBM genre. Better than majority of MCU movies

The Theme is beyond perfect
Bane Fan 1 In the official soundtrack, it’s titled Arcade, it is beyond epic👍🏻👍🏻
Just feels like a Micheal Bay sound track to be clear. The original movie had a perfect music. This one insert into any generic action movie works fine.
This should have been the movie. A film about him leading up to them giving up Superman
Sooo a prequel
I agree, it would be awesome to follow Jor-El through the days leading up to the Krypton war and the destruction of the planet. To really build up that hype for Superman as well in a sequel.
Plus, what better way to use the medium like they always do, alien planet with a problem we can all relate to.
Yea that would be refreshig
【 The superman's dad is awesome, i hope we will hav a movie about him, *not Jor-el* 】
Great idea!

I’m pretty sure codex can survive it considering that it is the soul of krypton with a billion kryptonian dna inside it.

the first time i watched this movie, this opening scene immersed me so hard i was yelling at myself in my head, "why did i wait for this movie to come to dvd" i wish i was at the theatres for this one.

This was a great, truly great movie.
Will be cult classic.
When me and my parents watched this at the cinema. Not only us but also the audience were amaze how well executed the film is. I just don't get why this didn't get the proper movie rating and popularity.
Its a good scene. I'm glad you had a good night with your parents. Movie nights with parents are always good memories.
I think it is because critics expected a remake of Christopher Reeves interpretation rather than a Superman movie. Is like they don't want risks but only remakes.
Because dweebs and fanboys only wants nostalgia pieces and not new takes on old stories. Now fast forward to 2024 and they WISH they could have a superhero movie like this. Now they all are awash in bad CGI and equally bad ill timed.jokes
0:41 This shot alone deserves some praise, man of steel is criminally underrated
Some backstory from the BTS dus uss ions as well as the novelization explains why Jor-El is cool with H’araka. Apparently, Jor-El manufactured his own artificial grass to provide grazing area for the remaining animal life on the mostly barren, strip mined Krypton. We see it very briefly when the animals get startled by Kal-el crying. Jor-el was a pretty noble, enlightened dude.
Russel Crowe played a great jor el. I'd love to see him get his own movie as jor El.
Hey everyone, let's just look at the geography of this planet. The Kryptonians clearly terraform the heck out of this place. They have a surface and subsurface of the plate. Probably used those materials to make spaceship and other things for colonization.
The Gladiator as Superman's father is just epic
Don't forget Kevin Costner...

The difference between the blu ray and 4k is huge. The colors really stand out in the 4K and the greyish tone is basically gone.
Doesn't beach watching in the theater
So that's why Kalel is such a badass beyond other kryptonians? He carries the codex.
It's almost criminal how the fate of Krypton didn't have a film in it's own right.
Krypton:Origins
People were already whining on why the Kryptonian sequence even exists, that's how mainstream normies are..equally the idiotic brain dead critics, this movie had all the marketing spent for it's own Trailers, VFX, Soundtrack, High budget CGI, very high determination to set a story that sets apart all others. Till date, I cannot find an origin movie that could be so massive for a CBM. Batman Begins comes very very close, ofc it would. Since Nolan wanted to give this backstory and do did Snyder, which carries the whole weight with one act. This movie will be a masterpiece. Timeless achievement. Not even Avatar can stand against this, as it's story is weak.
All those babies in the Codex chamber being born in the worst time in 10,000 years.
Best CGI I ever seen
Man of Steel is one of the best movies I've ever seen, both Superman and DC
The goosebumps when he calls the dragon. OMFG.
Russel Crowe as Jor El always inspires in me a sense of duty and heroism
Damn that dragon bug thing really stuck it out like a boss

What ever jor El pets name is if he was on Earth with yellow sun radiation that animal would be a problem to Superman
Why? Hes supposed to be superman's friend if hes bounded to jor el
It's Krypto!
The name is Horak...
Titan Traveller H'Raka
Or other the real doomsday in yellow sun radiation, hell even the clone of doomsday that was a baby destroyed Superman.
You really can’t see it much in this scene, but I like that Jor-El’s observatory has grass (artificially created, per the promotional materials) where whatever animals were left could still graze and do animal things. Probably why he could call H’raka to give him a lift when he needed it.
Little background details to help the portrayal of Jor-El as a man of culture and benevolence, appreciating nature on a planet that has literally strip mined more than half its surface (when he flies down to the Genesis chamber, he flies in between what was the surface, which is now just separated strips).
I never thought of it that way I just assumed that was part of their architecture
Superman can fly but his dad had to take organic public transport.
If only we have that alien tech for Video Call 😏......
I just realised, the Kryptonian Empire alone could've wiped out Darksied's entire army.
I loved how this was its own mini movie!
These cinematic marvels can be seen only in Zack's movies. 🎥🎥👌👌🔥🔥

So is the "baby" "embryo" being plucked out as Jor-El is swimming in to supposed to be Clark's cousin? I never found out the significance of that part of the scene.
I don't think it is significant in the grand scheme of the story. Snyder likely put it in there to establish how Kryptonians are "born" during this time in the planet's history.
