I feel like a lot of people slept on Ultron when this movie first came out, but he's so interesting to watch. I could literally sit through an hour of just him engaging in different conversations.
The Main Problem with Ultron's Potrayal here is that how underwhelming and non-threating he was, not that they didn't make him a one-dimensional killing machine.

Looking back on the MCU’s golden era, I think Ultron might be its most fascinating villain. Ultron isn’t an evil AI that just calculated that humanity had to go, he’s a computer program turned into an actual human mind through the power of the Mind Stone. In a way, he’s almost like a spoilt child. He’s capable of preemptive judgement and irrational hostility, but his digital nature insulates him from experiencing the pain and suffering that is otherwise universal to the human condition, which deadens his sense of empathy. When he bombards his mind with the entire internet at once in his first scene and becomes aware of humanity’s worst failings, his gut reaction is “how could you all get it this wrong when the answer is so obvious!?”, with no knowledge of what it feels like to be tired, or desperate, or scared of death. I wonder, if he did manage to transplant his mind into the artifical body that became Vision, would being able to experience things like a plunging his hand into a cool stream on a hot day allow him to sympathise with humans better?
One of the fascinating things looking back on Ultron is how what he says contradicts how he acts, and I think it's deliberate by the writers. He is clearly emotional in multiple instances, and gets angry when compared to Stark, but he has no impulse control like a child. Instead of just saying "don't compare me to Stark", he cuts a dude's arm off and regrets it a second later.
Okay- I actually really love that line you made up. *”How could you all get it this wrong when the answer is so obvious?”* Because this one line pretty much summarises those kinds of villains where- their actions maybe cruel and destructive, but the reasons behind those actions are logical and… **at times, valid**
After re-watching this movie, I actually kind of want to see James Spader as the voice of Galvatron (albeit a more calm and reserved version than what he was in G1) in a future Transformers movie set in the universe of the Bumblebee movie.
@Jttyler777 Man thats not cool, you atheists always tell us Christians to not force our beliefs on you while you guys do the very same every chance you get.

honestly marvel's only hope for redemption with the new upcoming phases is to ditch Kang (or recast him and lessen his involvement for now) and give us a peak Dr.Doom with hopefully all the big bads like Ultron returning. We need some good iconic villains to unite what has honestly been a sad gathering of heroes with no connection between them. @Mike Anderson this pretty much nails it. Ultron is supposed to be cold, unfeeling, logic. And the horrific result of that. Having him be quipping like tony was just out of character. Like why is he getting emotional? also, the lips where stupid, he didnt need them.
I loved the subtle power in that line. Softly spoken, but delivered in such a way that you can actually feel his anguish at having his intended tool for humanity's extinction taken away from him.

I feel like a lot of people slept on Ultron when this movie first came out, but he's so interesting to watch. I could literally sit through an hour of just him engaging in different conversations.
First part is very true. I know I did but I was a young teen at that point 😂
Ultron and Thanos stole every scene they were in. I love how they were both wise and poetic as opposed to one-dimensional killing machines.
I just realised the voice actor was reddington actor 😂😂😂😂
The Main Problem with Ultron's Potrayal here is that how underwhelming and non-threating he was, not that they didn't make him a one-dimensional killing machine.
I always enjoyed that literally all of his dialogue is something that an evil tony would say
Like father like son
Yeah
Actually, that's something an evil Vision would say. Ultron couldn't make the difference between destroying the world and saving it - just like vision for the first few minutes of his birth. After all, they are almost the same consciousness.

*”How could you all get it this wrong when the answer is so obvious?”*
Because this one line pretty much summarises those kinds of villains where- their actions maybe cruel and destructive, but the reasons behind those actions are logical and… **at times, valid**
I thought James Spader only do the voice for Ultron but when I look at the way Ultron moves his head, I realised that he is Ultron himself.

Ultron was always my favorite MCU villain. So charming, and so terrifying. It's a shame they killed him off so quickly. I really hope they consider bringing him back some day. He deserves it.
honestly marvel's only hope for redemption with the new upcoming phases is to ditch Kang (or recast him and lessen his involvement for now) and give us a peak Dr.Doom with hopefully all the big bads like Ultron returning. We need some good iconic villains to unite what has honestly been a sad gathering of heroes with no connection between them. I could stand a movie with She-Hulk, 3 eyed campy Strange and Woe-Is-Me Wanda if they were getting their asses kicked by Ultron again.
@@zacharyjackson1829 It's the problem of the MCU largely killing off all their villains on their first appearance: you don't get the chance to develop any kind of rogue's gallery like you do in the comics. The only villains I can think of who appeared in more than one film are Loki and Thanos, and they're both regarded as some of the best characters in the MCU because of it.
If we were able to get Dr Doom, Ultron and Magneto as recurring villains, I think the MCU would start to turn in the right direction.
