      I agree. This movie was almost about perfect. Michael Shannon's character of Zod is a remarkable and complex tour de force. A man (well, a "being" I guess) who was so determined to his devotion to his people/race/civilization that he would end another to save it (crush Earth to build a new Krypton) was a conflict that makes you examine the character. Was Zod a monster? Did Krypton deserve to be saved and rebuilt? Only a true "fatalist" would side with Kal El when it comes to the end of an entire species, versus the alternative of possibly saving it from extinction. Zod was right all along, even if his actions were to harm a lesser species.

      @@abongilezolanipeterson2737 what do you mean? Yellow sun enhances kryptonian cells and literally makes the kryptonians OP, the same way supes got insane powers from spending a lifetime of growing under a yellow sun.
      Zod and his men aren't weakened by kryptonite because they spent their entire lives growing up in Krypton and adapting to its environment/atmosphere or whatever you want to call it. They are however, very susceptible to earth's conditions simply because of the reason I stated before. Also, that's why supes is threatened by kryptonite and safe under the yellow sun on earth. The only exception being Zod himself, simply because he was literally bred for the sole purpose of being Krypton's super-commander/colonist and has decades of experiences at adapting to the enviroments/conditions of the plants he's fought to colonise.
      As for the terraformation, I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in the film that they seeked out colonies of Krypton and other worlds in multiple systems but just couldn't find a planet that was inhabitable. Unlike earth, which can support life (because of its position in the system from the sun and it's underlaying geography which resembles Krypton in alot of ways).
      Btw, none of this is extra information. Everything's clearly been covered in the film.

      @@lemongeezer1157 This is not true.
      Zod is also affected by Kryptonite when he is living under a yellow sun .
      Kryptonite only becomes radio active when it is in a yellow star system and when that happens it becomes harmful to Kryptonians.
      Proof of this is that in Batman vs Superman, Lex tested the Kryptonite on Zod's corpse. That's how he knew that it was harmful to Kryptonians.
      Yes Kryptonians can adapt to different environments, we already knew that from Kal El, but they can't adapt to yellow sun radio active Kryptonite.
      Zod would have had to terraform the sun as well into a red sun to make earth inhabitable after he terreformed the earth otherwise all the Kryptonians would have had to stay on armor 24 seven because the earth would have become full of radioactive Kryptonite.

      What they should have done after this film is do self contain story ben affleck batman movie set befor the event of mos then after that do BvS(with a better story) which should have officially solidfied the shared universe.

Facebook, CZcams, etc, they all exist in this film-verse, and it's stuff like that that could cause issues for him, and did. He couldn't stay in one space for very long, because the second he did something heroic, people would blab about it on Social Media, and he'd have to relocate again. Adding this aspect into the film-verse was a good move in my opinion. Hell, Henry Cavil sells the isolation that Clark felt growing up, and you see it throughout the film. Those long stares he gives, and even a few instances where he doesn't look certain people in the eye... Clark from the 20s to the early 90s never had to deal with things like Social Media. He never had to worry about someone going "Hey, aren't you that guy that did...", he could easily blend into the crowd, and just be who he wanted to be.... Clark Kent in the 2010s? No chance. But, becoming a reporter, gave him the excuse he needs to be where trouble happens... and a nice paycheck to boot.

    • @Atreus21
      @Atreus21 Před 4 lety +1

      Disagree. They wasted a clearly good actor in this scene. Repeating the same line three times was kind of stupid I thought.
      I really think they missed an opportunity with Zod. Earlier in the movie Zod accuses Jor-El of heresy. They should've continued Zod's story on that basis, a religious basis. Made him an inquisitor of sorts instead of a warlord. He and Jor-El could've agreed that Krypton was doomed, but Zod's reasoning wouldve been religious where Jor-El's was scientific. Thus his final line in this scene might've been, "and he will repent" or "and he will brought to contrition" or something else an absolute zealot would exclaim. Difficult lines like that wouldve been great for an actor this good, particularly since "contrition" is a word that can end with gritted teeth.
      Just my opinion. This movie reminds me a lot of the 2012 tron movie. Tons of potential and good talent, but there's just something lacking.
