She has been well and she just did a healthscreening which showed elevated AFP
What to do?
What is the implications?
Does it mean she has cancer?

I got 425 in January and then I did another test last week and is now 15. I’m going thru Menopause. Going for an ultrasound now. Should I be worried? When a got the 425 value, 2 weeks later I got my period after 9 months of not having it at all. My GGT is 12

My AFP is 7.5 and am worried like hell
You need to ask your dr why he/she tested for you in the first place? what was he suspecting?
Mine was 9.1 in Jan 2024. It was detected by health screening. Got referred to see a liver specialist, did ultrasound and all came back as normal. Was referred to gastroenterologist and retook my AFP last week and the result was 8.7. Was worried too. No symptoms at all. Shouldn't have take the tumor marker :( now the gastroenterologist told me it's unexplained why the AFP is elevated and if I want, I can go for CT scan, endoscopy and colonscopy. 😢 I think your 7.5 was normal tho! For parkway lab, the range that's normal was below 8.1. For SGH, their reference range was below 7.1.
Mine is always high but at one time I had a level of 10200 when I developed cancer. They gave me two months to live but I survived.
