Squirrel Girl is the most obvious choice for a replacement, it will break all the box office records
Can you take a break from selling things and release decent content? Without the condescension...
As much as I want doctor to do my don't think he should appear simply because of the situation with the conqueror he should be coming to the MCU again simply to be a part of the story not to fill in for another person but it's just a shame I just can't believe how downward spiral Marvel studios have become over the years
Do you know who could play Kang? "Chukwudi Iwuji"! He had so much passion playing the High Evolutionary that I could see him playing a pissed off Kang! Think about it...
Please break down Godzilla Minus One.
I'd like it if we had actors to play Younger Kang, Adult Kang and Older Kang. Sort of like the 3 Emperors in Foundation.
Great idea!
I would love to see Denzel Washington as an older more experienced Kang.
That’s actually a fantastic idea. Empire as a cast of 3 characters are amazing.
@@mortagon1451agreed, this is one of the only acceptable replacements that I can think of.
John Boyega, Idris Elba, Denzel Washington 🤔
That's just sad. This guy really had me sold on HWR, Kang the conqueror and Victor Timely. That acting duel between Majors and Hiddleston in Loki s2 finale was just amazing.
Agreed
Yeah it's really sad, but at least, unlike the firing of James Gun, there is a solid reason to fire him and a solid risk involved in hiring him.
@Traumglanz I wouldn't call it solid. Its similar to how Disney fired Johnny Depp tbh
yeah
He was great in the role. Ezra Miller was great as The Flash. Gina Carano was fantastic as Cara Dune. It's unfortunate they were all bad people.
Honestly I think Kang was the reason Quantumania had as big of a box office opening as it did. He definitely was a big draw
😂😂😂😂😂
@@Leroyturner720kang carried the movie i mean it wasnt the best but it was good
The promise of Kang drew people, the performance not so much
@@Aardworm-JimThat is on bad writing and not the actor
@@ikennaamaechi2054 i personally did not care for the performance either, although it wasn't as bad as He Who Remains or the atrocious Victor Timely
Fell in love with Kang as a character ever since he first appeared in Loki, I really felt like Jonathan Majors was that piece marvel was missing for awhile and he was gonna be the one to restore marvel to its previous hype but marvel once again hits us with a curve ball. They might just recast him but I still really wish he wasn’t fired, Watching a different actor play Kang Is gonna be painful. 💔
exactly
The guy has range, but there are dozens of really talented black actors aged between 30 and 40 and could easily replace Majors - they are the only prerequisites to maintain continuity. I’d say that any contact is broken now? It’s not just Denzil and Morgan now… it certainly seemed that way for a long time
I mean majors hit us with the curveball. I’d blame marvel if he didn’t do anything. But I agree he’s a generational talent and the missing piece but they wasted so much talent on quantumania. I don’t get it bc antman 1 & 2 we’re so good. To add Kang and still blow it is just beyond comprehension
@@Hdub8526 I’m not sure they did blow it - the moment he disappeared could easily be a still comic image.
They didn’t get rid of the problem - just knocked it into the long grass
I'm very much on Team Recast. If they are going to go the route of pruning the character from the MCU, I'm with Colton on this; make the new overarching villain appear as a direct consequence of previous actions, such as He Who Remains no longer being the man at the end of time.
Are you team it must be a straight black male though? I think they should have some fun with this, get someone from Noah's Arc, get Janelle Monae, do something really bold and dynamic. I don't want them to just replace him with someone as similar as possible, at the very least
@@nailinthefashion Yea make Kang a woman. That'd work out well. There'd definitely be more people calling it the MSHEU 🙄Also what on Earth does the character's sexuality have to do with anything? "Straight black male"? You're weird af.
@@roboninja3194 I don't care what a subset of sensitive men are calling the brand, I care about telling an interesting and dynamic story. She played a villain, a game maker, in the Hunger Games film. Someone unhinged, focused, and truly evil. She'd be perfect and bring that flare we all want. Who would you want in the role? Boyega? Lol.
Why are you so sensitive you can't discuss it? We should talk about every facet of the role. He played a straight/asexual black male variant and is a straight cis black male. Triggered? Keep scrolling, but don't police the discussion without adding anything other than your offendedness.
I think it'd be so interesting to see a sassier variant, we haven't had flamboyant villains often, it's fun, probably not to you and that's fine. Every decision shouldn't be ruled by one person or money, right?
Feel free to disagree, but don't just ask why something is relevant when it's obvious.... tell us how you really feel babes.
@@nailinthefashionM-She-U basically?
@@brasihle4213 if you're that simple minded, sure! What was phase 1? Masculine straight white male cinematicverse? Not so catchy.
Please just recast Kang! They've built up too much to just drop him and say Loki and the TVA are monitoring him. Technically the council of Kangs meet OUTSIDE of the multiverse so Loki or the TVA wouldn't even be able to anticipate their plans
I agree 👍🏼 💯
Isnt it offensive to recast a black actor
If they don't recast and bring in a new big bad they are gonna screw up even more than they already did.
Honestly I think they should just reset the whole thing and scrap this whole garbage face for.
@@xshadionytpx7891 they did it before
I honestly hope we get a Kang recast😅We are one phase into the Multiverse, and removing Kang would just make everything that came before so pointless during the Multiverse Saga
I reckon an older Kang would be a good take. I like the idea of an older Kang Variant killing all his variants at the Council of Kings & then he takes the fight to the multiverse. Perhaps having a desperate battle hardened "multiversal" (legacy) character hop around the multiverse recruiting heroes (& maybe villains alike) to take on the older Kang, resulting & ending in the creation of Battle World.
In the comics, Kang appears at various times in different forms, and only later do they realize "it's Kang!" which suggests his variants were not necessarily identical, like Loki's. No reason not to recast; in fact, would be the best way to respect Kang's comic representation.
Hell, even the council at the end of Quantumania showed other, non- human Kang variants
Actually I was just made aware the clause in his contract is null and void upon conviction.
@@MikeyDSavageI love that Idea. I was thinking about using Henry Cavill in the MCU, but not type cast as a muscle hero like Hyperion, but maybe Mr. Fantastic. Using him as a villain is even better. He would look badass.
They get even edit the end of quantumania to have them not all look identical just for continuity
they will never be able to find someone else to play the kang role. JM DOES it best
What if...
At the end of an upcoming film, the post credit scene shows Mobius walking through the ruins of the Kang Stadium from the end of Quantimanium. Someone used their meeting to strike and destroy every He Who Remains variant in one swoop. A new multiversal threat and mystery on who it is.
Recast Kang- I suggest Grace Jabbari. She is super scary, the way she chased around Majors should be more than enough to convince anyone.
Finally someone points out the fucked up legal situation here. Instead of crying about galactus, people should focus on what is happening in Hollywood with these men like him and Depp.
Such a great episode.
Really enjoyed the ideas you guys were throwing around.
If Majors had a clause that said only he could play Kang, and if Marvel also had a clause that if you were found guilty of ‘x’ level or type of crime, then other clauses are null and void, then Marvel waiting for Majors verdict allows them to recast and hence why they waited as long as they did
Like wa Marvel waiting for a non guilty verdict so it's safe to go on with him?
But ,he was charged with a lesser charge!! It might as well be a life Sentence & The MCU did NOTHING to support The MAIN REASONS why folks pay attention to The MCU!! It's Their Actors!! Dame 4 Sure NOT their writing ✍️storytelling NOR directing 🎬 ( 👀 at The Marvels?? There U have it) The MCU don't Support their Employees & I can't support them!!
You're talking as if you know this for an absolute certainty ..
@@EddieParker-lb3vidude, he's a bad person. Why would matvel support him?
@@dannysilbor8678 might have pivoted to something that didn’t include Kang if there was a not guilty. Just conjecture.
Felt like Loki really ended in a way that they already dealt with Kang since they're checking in on the variants
But “What If” 😉 There’s a version of Kang that the TVA can’t watch b/c his appearance is so different and this Variant is the version who will conquer….
Yes, but the key detail is that the Council of Kang is currently in a dimension outside of space and time. The TVA won't be able to detect them until they travel within the multiverse.
But in loki they literally say that there's still a threat out there just not on the radar
Yeah, it was a very well-crafted stepping off point for the character. I am still kind of sad we will not see more of the JM's Kang.
I think they should introduce the Maker as the 616 mr. fantastic and as the new big bad. Operating behind the scenes as a villain could explained his absence. A victor von doom could still aid in stopping him because of his self interests and rivalry. They could introduce the fantastic 4 later in different universes.
I’ve became a huge Kang fan. Quantumania supposedly wasn’t “great” but Kang did phenomenal imo. I talked about it with a buddy, and for some reason people are forgetting that Kang is everywhere* and anywhere*. How are we forgetting that there are more Kangs than just the conqueror? There’s Immortus, Rama-Tut, Scarlet Centurion, even the blue guy! It’d be good to recast, introduce a new, stronger variant that can take over as the big bad of the Multiverse saga. And yeah, multiverse and time travel is “complicated” to understand, but that makes it BETTER. Have us think, have us wonder about what’s going on, keep us wanting more* after the movies/shows end so we look forward to the next. Plus we get all these dope breakdowns.
Don't forget Iron Lad
Kind of sad he played kang so well
I love the idea of using the Beyonder as a stand in for the audience
It would be super meta. I'm all in.
Damn it now I'll be mini disappointed if they don't do that lmao
Beyonder is too much
How would they pull it off
I don’t think it would take much work to turn Strange Supreme from What If into the big villain even though it’s a similar motivation as Wanda in Multiverse of Madness. I think introducing Maestro could work as well.
Very good convo and ideeas. Kudos
There is just so many possibilities that it would take a hell of a writing team and good production supporting the project.
They could just do the sensible thing and restart the entire MCU.
@@coltonwilkie241I've seen this take a lot and where you're not wrong about sensibility for storytelling, it wouldn't be the most sensible financially. I believe too much capital has been put in this "multiverse saga" to pull the plug before the end. I'm afraid there might be too many fingers in this pot for Disney to ok that decision. BUT if the multiverse is the catalyst that pushes us to a new marvel timeline that could support a reboot of sorts THEN we are home free. We just have to wait and see who wins the multiversal war first.
correction there are so many good ideas, that it will take a hell of a writing team to pick all the bad options
So many possibilities yes. But the ppl at marvel haven’t written anything good since 2019
@@coltonwilkie241that's what the plan already is, Secret Wars always leads to a reboot, I don't see them doing it any other way. But will this make them do it sooner and then explore more for Avengers 5 and 6... They're just far enough away to where they can do anything really.
Do you guys want Kang Dynasty or something else now? I'm indifferent. I just want mutants and magic, don't care how we get em
I think a recast is what would make all of us feel better. But i am grateful we got Kang in 3 projects and he played the hell out that part! So for that i cannot thank him enough 🙏🏾
Wouldn't make me feel better at all. I think he should continue on as Kang, and the diety little white piglet that "won" the nonsense case against him should do prison time.
@@jamieshouldbeavailable lmao chill out! It sucks he's going to prison or whatever is going to happen to him, but it's going to happen. They found him guilty enough go away. Thats on him.
That would just be the final nail in the coffin for phase 456
@@jamieshouldbeavailableHe lost man, just let it be.
He was defeated by ants 😂
the point of kang is that he is pretty much like tony but that he lost everything and now wants to control everything and making a dark tony start doesn’t make sense when those characters r the same pretty much
I’m really wondering what this means for Wanda now, especially because her and Kang were rumored to go up against each other since they’re both Nexus beings
Yeah that would have been a epic fight
Damn 😮. They fuckin erkin me
I’ve always thought that there should have been a short 2 year “Saga” after the infinity saga that was the X-men Vs. Avengers, where at the conclusion of that it would segway into a Secret Wars saga once the X-men and avengers realized the greater threat and banded together.
I haven't got to the end of the video to see your idea for the next big bad. But I think the best new villain for multiverse is actually Dr Strange. His first movie was him playing with time and infinity wars, no way home, strange 2 and even what if have him meddling with reality and multiverse. Plus, Wong has links to She hulk, Shang Chi, Ms Marvel also. We've seen 2 or maybe 3 corrupted Dr S already.
Edit: antagonists instead of villain
And apparently Supreme Strange intervenes in the new season of What If so I can definitely see what you’re saying and am 100% behind it
All I want is a mirror to Multiverse of Madness, for Strange to hunt down Billy to kill him and that's enough to resurrect a part of Wanda, just an instinctual layer of her. He wants to kill him because he found a relic that makes him see a vision of the Demiurge full power, so more of the Young Avengers find each other and get help from Wanda, America, Kate, and Kamala etc.
They all clash with Strange, but, his relic from the Dark Dimension backfires and frees the F4 and Doom who kidnaps Wanda and Billy and uses them as batteries and we get that weird Battleworld story with a twist: the F4 know how to get the world back to normal but it'll come at a sacrifice, ushering in a "death of Dr Strange" era (those comics are awesome) with Clea as Supreme for a bit.
Convoluted and messy, sure, but wouldn't it be fun?! Ugh, I can't stop fantasizing about it since we won't know anything new til Deadpool 3. 😭
@@samcogerwe all knew he was coming back right? They couldn't just leave one of the coolest characters in a bubble dimensh for toooo long
And we never got a payoff for Mordo
Would it be possible to present the void after time and all that Alioth consumes as a realm of nothingness? This would be very similar to the negative realm and could also be where universes destroyed in incursions would be able to release energy. This would allow Annhilus to be presented as the next major threat to the multiverse following Avengers 5 and would allow for some original writing rather than just making a movie version of the comic that has already been written. Also gives an easy in for F4 in phase 6 between Avengers 5 and Secret Wars.
Just had an idea. What if the moniker of ‘Kang’ wasn’t tied to one character? Victor timely never got the notebook, so the threads unwind of him becoming kang. But someone else’s great great grandson does. You defeat that character. A NEW person becomes Kang. It’s a nexus event that SOMEONE takes up the mantle and tries to rule the multiverse. You could have multiple actors play it, without having to recast timely/nathanial richards. I dunno, maybe too far out for laypeople but it could be fun and fit the continuity and add a layer of impossible for the heroes to overcome that still feels like Kang
Exactly! I always had a theory that Kangs mere existence was the nexus event that brought out the whole multiversal war.
100% agree with Colton. There has to be purpose of the multiverse saga
I like these predictions. Let’s hope we hey can pull it off!
Out of all of the latest Marvel releases this year, Loki has had the best reviews. So Loki has already set up the next big bad of the MCU. I think Ravonna Renslayer should be the new villain. When she teamed up with Miss Minutes, they showed no mercy for their own people who they fought alongside for years. Miss Minutes also smiled while killing them which was so devious. Ravonna has always wanted power and did not care how she got it. She’s also a woman scorned and there is no fury like this. There was even a time at one point where there was discussion that she could be one of Kang’s variants which is very believable since she is so obsessed with control and power. Ravonna and Miss Minutes could do some serious damage especially with all of Kang’s info stored in Miss Minutes memory.
Renslayer was cool in Loki, but I'm not sure if the character could really become the primary villain of the multiverse saga. I just don't think she has the right kind of "gravitas" for that role, but that's something that could be worked on over the rest of the phase.
Now, if they hadn't already jumped the gun and screwed it up, I would've thought that Wanda would've made a good "big bad". Slowly build her descent into villainy over the next phase, but in the background. Small things that could be looked past on their own, but when we get to the reveal that she's the next "Avengers-Level Threat" (or more), we could look back and see all the pieces there.
Recasting makes the most sense. We are literally in the multiverse phase of the MCU, where variants can look different. Spider-Man and Loki are key examples.
They can't. Conteact Said ONLY Major can play Kang
@@deathstar9137 they have more lawyers then Majors and there are always clause with convictions....... however, I don't like a recast, just kill all variants off screen or in a small cameo with the next big bad taking all of their tech/power and going after Loki.
@@RunningGuy1980 deal is deal. If they can't they can't.
If they bring in molecule man sometime in the near future, that will be a good hint that they're bringing in the beyonder. Because they're both connected
I think they were building up to why Kang needed control and what his motivation was. It helped with the mystery of the character, we didn't know Thanos' plan really until the last few films in that arc.
yep
Was waiting for this one
Denzel could be the Beyonder or a more sinister Kang
Damn - yeah, Denzil would make a pretty excellent Kang.
Denzel Washington isn't going anywhere near a comicbook property. Ever.
Yes!
@@jackdubz4247he’s more like an older punisher
I totally agree with Colton, just recast Kang! When Iron man 2 came out with Cheadle replacing Howard the fans didn't lose their minds. They had a clever little script burn when he said "I'm here get over it let's move on" so the fans did just that & now Cheadle is our canon Rhodey, end of story. Recasting is not a death sentence for a character.
You mean Terrance Howard not Fishburne
That wasn’t Lawrence Fishburne 😒 That was Terrence Howard.
@@joshuaberrian1229 haha you right! My bad
@@kevinwhite3685 yeah lol my bad
I was waiting for this video
Your idea sounded like they could just bring in the council of Reeds and or use that idea but tweaked and if that's the case, then just fully develop and play out the council of Kangs and even pit them against the council of Reeds.
Recasting Kang needs to happen they neeed to finish his story we’ve been too invested save dr doom and the others for later
There are sooooo many possibilities and theories where this could go which excites audiences, it’s equally exciting and risky when deciding which idea to go with
I think the Loki comment about Kang in Ant-Man was written in a way that they can go any way they want. It could be a everything’s fine and then he shows back up. Like the vortex he was pulled in actually keeps that version out of site while he builds back up and starts manipulating things from the shadows until the final big reveal where he puts the heroes truly on the rips like Infinity Wars.
I love the Beyonder idea. I think its a really good way to clean up the MCU and consolidate things while providing a platform for the writers to go nuts with Battleworld. It would be quite the spectacle.
There's the opportunity because of the end of Loki S2 that Loki sees something and calls the Avengers together to fix it. His "Hero" arc completes. And, the Original Avengers can't solve it themselves and the newer characters have to help and then you pass the torch. Loki sees all the Kangs and learns the "what and how" of "He Who Remains", and takes his own action. The God of Stories tries to write his own new ending. It's sitting right there.
I think the Council of Kang could've originally came together to defeat Galactus, after beating him they fought eachother leading to the multiversal war. Say we defeated kang and now nothing can stop galactus from coming forth.
I get the impression Loki has basically put Kang out of the picture or at least the need to include him in the next Avengers, but as we are likely to see a convergence with the xmen universe you could have Kang return in later movies with a different actor from that universe and this time closer to the comics origin. Its a good way to reboot or overhaul a mistake, just have a convergence with another universe that wipes the slate and allows you to recast, a Universal mash up. In the Marvels movie, the xmen universe can also have another Tony Stark who is entirely different, although I'd prefere it if there are no other versions, Binary erked me a bit, it's another universe, why would that sperm ever have reached that particular egg, its an entirely different history, not a variation, even physics can be different
I think after the introductions of the Fantastic 4 where Sue Storm is rumored to be the lead, at the end of the movie tease Reed Richards becoming the Maker where HE makes Battleworld and pits the X-Men against the Avenger with similarities to the Avengers vs X-men comic were instead of fighting over the Phoenix force and Scott and Jean's child they fight over something else
Awesome video!
One small nitpick...
Molecule Man's GF/then wife in Secret Wars (et al) was Volcana, the other Denver resident empowered to supervillain status by Doctor Doom (along with Titania).
They should go with Beyonder for sure!! Dr Doom and Galactua are too big of characters to just throw in right now! 🔥🔥
Will you have breakdowns for the recent two Doctor Who specials??
That Tony thing made sense... Superior Iron man.. we can have him jump to the main universe from a What if episode like using America's powers... people who look up to Stark will feel safe again but then he turns out to be this menace like Killmonger.
I think they got to recast we're in too deep with kang and given the circumstances I think a lot of marvel fans will understand. I still want kang I find it very interesting
In too deep? One movie and one tv series. LOL. Yeah they can't stop now
nah, nobody likes the multiverse movies aside from spiderman
Jonathan majors is Kang
Yeah I think we are in too deep with the character now
I’m sad Kang is gone but I like the idea of the beyonder.
During a video at the end of Loki , I think Ryan said something like “not even waiting for Galactus” and I thought “wait no,,, that’s Exactly what we’re waiting for”
Cast Ioan Gruffudd. Kang is supposed to be a descendent of Reed (or doom), right?
Kang the Conqueror always felt too obvious for a Thanos-level villain. I'm pretty sure Marvel didn't mean for it to happen this way, but I was always fascinated by Kang being the bait in a bait and switch villain reveal. To me, that would be a clever way to reveal the new universal bad guy.
Great idea guys!!
If they don't recast him one of the best things about the mcu will be even more lost than it already is: Continuity and cohesiveness. And it would be so easy to explain the recast with the multiverse and all the variants.
Oh wow, that's such a wise comment. I hope someone important is keeping that in mind most. I think that's the main reason why a lot of people haven't been having fun with the projects.
I have had fun, but I have decades of knowledge fueling my interest. Secret Invasion to people who had no idea what it was about must have been so blindsided, I get why it failed, and that's just one project.
I think they want to recast him, but we'll see if contracts get in the way
I agree. I also think they are seemingly, maybe, blaming Kang for bringing down the MCU’s mojo and want to distant themselves from the character in order to ‘start anew’. This would be such a mistake in what is already a goddamned mess post-endgame. Even if they were to try to start anew, so much damage has been done to their reputation. Part of me thinks they’re screwed either way. They just can’t outdo the rabid enthusiasm and excitement that surrounded the later half of the Infinity Saga.
They probably are thinking: well, Jonathan has hurt the name of Kang, so Kang is dropped T_T Don't expect from Disney to be smart, they're the worst
RECAST KANG!! I really just want Marvel to keep on keeping on and give us what they’ve been building up to. There is a lot of talent that they could slot in and help take the Kang character to the moon and beyond. It would leave such a bad taste in my mouth if they leave all of this build up to just “yeah we’re keeping an eye on those pesky little variants.” And then we never see Kang again. Disney need not be afraid of recasting especially a character that could by THEIR OWN TV SHOW’S LOGIC look like anything or anyone.
I saw your list of potential replacement actors and I think you left off a good a few good options, in my opinion:
- David Ajala
- Aldis Hodge
- Winston Duke
- Sterling K Brown
Winston already has a pretty iconic role in the Black Panther franchise, though. (i mean, yes, there are multiple actors that have played multiple roles in the MCU, but i would argue none of them were as high-profile a pair as M'baku and Kang...yes, Gemma Chan as Sersi was kinda the main protagonist of Eternals, but her role as Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel was both forgettable and she had pretty heavy make-up and didn't look like the same person at all; probably the next closest comparison is Michelle Yeoh's roles in GotG and Shang-Chi, and while she had a moderate role in the latter, i bet a lot of folks forgot altogether she was briefly in Guardians 2).
and FWIW, for the purposes of this discussion, i'm not considering Agents of Shield and the Netflix/Defender-verse part of the MCU.
In the end I find myself a bit conflicted.... All the ideas have a great amount of merit to them, and I'm not personally married to any particular one. I guess whatever path they choose, as long as it's well-considered and carefully mapped out... I'm okay with keeping my faith in Feige knowing what he's doing.
It will be a massive misstep if they don't recast and throw all this setup away. Marvel needs to do whatever they have to do to recast this role and finish the story they're in the middle of. I don't have a shred of faith that they can pivot from Kang and salvage this saga this late into things.
I think they should bring in Mephisto as the secret string puller finessing Doctor doom Who really finesses Mephisto to help him strip the beyonder power then all the heroes (the avengers X-men and fantastic 4) has to work together to beat him then Galactic comes out of nowhere
Terrance Howard w/ a jheri curl as the Beyonder would be wild, mayne!! 🤣🤣
It’s exciting that they literally can go in any direction
Its not that hard to make Gallactus. He is a giant Eternal, but when he uses his powers to consume a world, he dissolves into a cloud to surround the planet to absorb its essence and then reforms
im with Colton, "recast"
twist: renslayer is a kang variant, kang kept her close because he feared her, but couldnt get rid of her, thats why shes banished. Maybe the love interest happens but kang cant handle them both being variants like loki could. Could even have a clip of her doing a tactical kang prune bomb on the council of kangs, and then when she comes back to her partner, he mind wipes her.
Kang dynasty refers to her. Could even do an orobos angle. Where pre-war He-Who-Remains is the one that saves her and "teams up" with her.
If they are moving on/away from Kang, it should be to the Beyonder. Introducing Dr Doom without his history with the Fantastic Four and developing the characters would be a big mistake since Dr Doom should be a long term antagonist going forward. The Beyonder can be disposed of after Secret Wars and nobody will really miss him much and then MCU can focus on Mutant saga after that.
Battleworld sounds awesome, but also really, really, really expensive. With the latest returns from the MCU movies being low, I'd be surprised if they went that big.
Only the Marvel's possibly lost money. They're going huge with secret wars. It's the next endgame!
They lost money because they invested in characters no one cares about.
You slap “Avengers” on the title, it’s guaranteed to make at least $1.5B. You add in all the legacy characters? It could STILL break Avatars record. We’re talking everyone in Hollywood being in those movies.
Why not make (now the most powerful character in the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse) The God of Mischief himself Loki the next big bad. It is in his nature to be mischievous after all. Loki in my opinion is the absolute best character in the entire MCU. Now Loki can be the villain perhaps he always should have been, for all time always!
He shines as a villain and is bland and generic as a hero.
Could post a link were Disney actually made a statement? I can’t find one no where 🤔
You have to credit the hot scoop or shot or poop segment from TWP specifically pls
I hope they actually show Loki utilising his new powers moving forward instead of just ‘shelving him’ after that huge power up!
Right!? He's become so OP, he could be Levitating towards a crazy big bad in amidst a dire moment during the battle world fight with all this green energy surrounding him.
I say recast. Reason being let’s say we swap him. Okay well what happens if the next villains goes through a court trial. Just scarp that villain to? Just finish the story an then make Doom the big bad for awhile.
I have to know, is the footage of Doug always the same or is it different every video? I honestly can't tell haha.
I had no idea what direction marvel should go...but you guys had me at Denzel...Either as Kang, but also as a Tony Stark variant, because I absolutely loved the idea of Tony still wanting to be a control freak. He is a good candidate to replace kang in multiverse war, and it would make our heroes feel a lot of things when they realize their biggest friend and savior variants are causing a lot of problems in other universe hahahah so denzel comes as the version of tony who has been batling his variants but ow needs help, and robert comes as the big bad tony who want to prune all timelines to protect his own timeline. I would LOVE to see that dynamic.
Galactus was also a "major" storyline threat in the Fortnite story as well, so many of younger people who will be getting more into marvel as they get older may already know who Galactus is because of Fortnite
He was also the main villain in Lego Marvel Superheroes
They need to make a cross-over like now whith wolverine, superman, and more
I don't want to talk about how this connects to Marvel too much because it is a real life situation that should be taken extremely seriously but one thing I want to say is I think we should give Marvel props because they did something other Studios probably wouldn't do which was waiting for an actual verdict before firing someone. I think of this was any other Studio or any other franchise Jonathan Majors would have been fired the second allegation surfaced but Marvel to the credit what's the leather plans in a way to the 10 months necessary to to see what the verdict was before actually firing him. I appreciate Marvel doing this, and I think there should be the standard going forward!
I think they learned from the whole James Gunn cancellation misstep they made. They panicked, fired him, and then DC picked him up.
It was a good call to wait and see, and as soon as the verdict came through, they made their decision.
@@brettabrahamagreed I think they did learn from their previous mistakes which means they are learning which is a very good thing
Mafisto and have those dark piano sounds that scarlet witch had
I appreciate screen crush for not grandstanding on “morals” like New Rockstars. Just facts and not a bunch of theater geeks who couldn’t get work so they talk about others works.
Seriously, I appreciate Screen Crush. Thank you for the insight and theories and FUN in discussing the films and characters we all love
I'd love to se the Age of Apocalypse or the Onslaught Saga at some point if the focal point swithes to the X-men..
Onslaught saga would be a dream come true, but it’s so far away from the current state of the MCU :/
Honestly i feel like they wasted a lot of potential with Kang as a villain and Disney squandered that
I love the line at the end of loki that's the perfect way to set up a new bad let everyone think he was easily defeated then he come back and kills most of them tortures ant man to let them know don't play with Kang recast is best idea so far.
I have a good big bad. Annihilus and annihilation wave. Plus he comes from another universe. He possesses the cosmic control rod which can annihilate universes. Plus he has an army of bug like creatures that can do his bidding because of cosmic control rod, and that could be the reason why the universe is collapsing. That can draw in the beyonder who sees the power in the cosmic control rod, so he can use it to create Battleworld.
Who should replace Kang?
Yes
your mom or Doom
Nobody! IF ANYOBODY, ME
Denzel Washington is my pick he is phenomenal actor would do the characters justice.
Ok for avenegrs 5 it should still be the kamg dyansty avenegrs 5 should be kang's last appearance in the mcu then in the post credits scenes we could have dr doom and in the fantastic 4 movie dr doom cna have a role and finally the beyonder becomes the main villain of secret wars as mastermind and creator of battleworld then dr doom kills the beyonder and takes his place as the mian villain
well it would be totally bad idea to reacst, they can just posponed and delay and delay the kang threat and relase the other bad things tha were stopped by other variants of kang unknowingly and not grow them and as kang is not there this other baddies grow
The Doctor Doom should be the next big Bad Ass Villian of course! My vote is for the more comicbook accurate portrait.
12:10 This just shows how a pawn Jonathan Majors was in this situation. He did everything he could to remedy his chaotic relationship with his ex calling the police when she was passed out drunk in his home. To running away from her when she stole his phone drunk. To losing his Marvel job because of two misdemeanors. And the charges that the lawyer said normally don’t go to trial because they are misdemeanors and the lawyers wanted the publicity for themselves.
I realize there are things that we don't know. I also know that the media go out of their way to give the most outrageous content the most visibility. I hope (not the best phrasing in this situation but I think you know what I mean) there is more than the video that was released because it all seems ridiculous, and everything in general seems so broken.
@@Kayne1b I agree, but if there are too many unknowns then why is there a judgment anyway? She was also brought up on assault charges but the court threw them out. And once I found out the guilty charges were all misdemeanors then that just upset me more.
And honestly, in the black community, any kind of goodwill that Marvel had from producing Black Panther is mostly gone. This is ridiculous.
@@TheCloveart Exactly. To be clearer, I mean it's possible there was more information that the jury had, but the media intentionally only revealed limited things to make the situation more offensive.
Or Marvel could have their own strange cards they are playing (I'd believe almost anything at this point honestly).
If the video I saw was actually representative of the situation though, it was (imo) 'hey, maybe both of you should seriously consider some counselling' worthy, not life-cancelling worthy.
Jonathan Majors is such a good actor, and I am sad we will not get to see more of him in the MCU.
yeah he was so good at acting like an upstanding human being. LOL
@@radrobd123 No one you have ever met has been their true selves, you have never met a person, just the character they play.
@@radrobd123 so quick to judge others for a situation you have little to no knowledge about. You don't know what you would have done in the same situation.
They should bring in the villain The Maker and use that as a springboard to introduce the Fantastic Four.
I would love to see Red Skull come back and be more evil in Secret Wars, Kang also would've made more sense as a villain that is a time traveler, and the flaw of Kang being a time traveler is that his tech would be based off Stark's tech.
Just recast kang, simple problem solved it worked for hulk from edward norton to mark rufallo , or terrence howard to don cheadle as Rhodey it would also be pretty messy to switch to a different villain.
I think the better option would have the "real" kang come out and kill the fake kang godzilla style where the Japan godzilla killed the shitty american one from 2000s.
You got to prove w h y we ought to be scared of them.
While I’m still team “Recast Kang” I LOVE the idea of having Iron Man be the next big bad for battle world because it fits his character so well. We even saw him dip into that not just in Avengers 2, but in Civil War when he nearly killed Bucky and Cap. Really really cool idea tbh.
No. There are already too many Tony Stark haters out there who blame Tony Stark for Ultron (because the MCU transfered the creation of Ultron from Hank Pym to Tony, which makes far more sense since Tony was the robots and A.I. guy), instead of laying the blame where it belongs: On Wanda. While it was Baron Strucker who inserted the computer virus into the Mind Stone's matrix that Tony used to upgrade his Jarvis A.I., so that a homicidal Ultron would be created that Strucker hoped to control, it was Wanda who in her blind wish for revenge on Tony for deeds done by other people (who had stolen his weapons) not only caused the trigger for the whole Civil War plot, but also placed the paranoid fear in Tony's already PTSD-stressed mind that he had to protect Earth from Thanos' invasion lest the vision Wanda had planted in his mind of all his friends being dead would become reality. Without that vision Tony would not have acted so hastily at the party. He and Banner would have spotted the virus code if they had taken their time.
And without Tony's efforts Vision would not have existed.
Owen Reece( Molecule Man) would be a great villain, he was a major character in both Secret Wars versions.
This video is 😢 it all crumbled before our eyes
Feels like the best move PR wise is to recast Kang, but to cast MOST of the names being mentioned to replace Majors. The Majors clause of being the only Kang should have gone out the window with him, put over the different looks of different Kangs as the big mystery behind his actions but leave it as something that means he can return whenever and we'll never know.....unless theres a big reset and plans change lol
We are heading for a “somehow Kang disappeared.” moment 😂
They could just recast him. The fact people jumping to replace the character. Just tells me people didn't want Kang at all.
@@theinsurance2450 i totally agree. recast is best. I was just referencing “somehow palpatine returned” lol
If they don’t re-cast a choose a new villain, could they do something with Doctor Strange as the antagonist? He’s had three run-ins with the multiverse already, and has been walking the line of darker magic. What if there was a way for him to become more out of control leading to him causing more incursions etc..
Is there any way mcu can reopen kang storyline after secret wars with different actor?
Because secret wars is mainly focused around dr doom
Or like after secret wars there's no storyline left for kang?
