This 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the perfect example of the modern luxury. It's easy to look at the 2018 Mercedes E400 Coupe as, simply, an E-Class with two fewer doors, but that's selling it short. For Mercedes, it represents a return to building the sort of car it abandoned in 1996-the mid-size luxury coupe. The previous generation E-Class coupe and the two generations of CLK that preceded it were built on modified, smaller C-Class platforms in an attempt to give them sporting credentials. This one, though, is a proper E-Class.
You'll notice one of the best things about the E-Coupe before you even open the door. Even among Mercedes' very attractive current lineup, the exterior styling on the E-Coupe stands out, by, well, not really standing out. Unlike the smaller C-Coupe and the decadent two-door S-Class, the E-Coupe features very minimal sculpting on its body panels and fairly subdued fender flares. The result is a simple, elegant-looking car that recalls the austere Mercedes coupes of old.
You can tell Mercedes chief designer Gordon Wagener and his team spent a lot of time studying the iconic designs of Paul Bracq and Bruno Sacco in working on this car. Wagner and co. have achieved an excellent result. The new E-Coupe isn't a flashy, but it looks better the more you spend time with it, and will certainly age well.
Inside, the interior is nearly identical to the E-Class sedan and wagon, with the exception of a slightly lower driving position and turbine-shaped air vents. If you look hard enough, there are some cheap materials here, but for the most part, it's top-notch quality.

Why doesn’t Mercedes offer a remote start feature ? My M-B service person told me a while back, but I didn’t quite get the reasoning. My Cadillac CTS had remote start. I could crank the car from several hundred feet away, and the interior would be comfortable by the time I walked to the vehicle.

Amazing looking car but the fact the the screen isn’t a touch screen is a deal breaker for me. I know the whole thing about fingerprints but if I want the option to deal with that then that should be the buyers call.

From what I’ve seen on Mercedes’ website, an AMG trim package and wheels are available for the E coupe. But as of now, I didn’t see a coupe with an AMG engine. That might come a little later.
No. it is not! There is E43 "AMG" ... E400 engine tuned by AMG.
As of now the AMG lines are only available for the sedan styling of the E class.
This was, far and away the best grill treatment. The succeeding ones look grumpy and unhappy!! They are supposed to look ‘aggressive’…sorry MB, they don’t. Just nasty!

That is false.. I have the coupe.. and I have black ash wood and Black seats.. Sickest interior of any car I've been in and even looks better than the S Dash.. IMO

what the the S class dash is primarily leather, the e has wood all across and also has the center wood console from the C.. and the dual screens from the S .its a better looking dash over all.. everyone I talked to at the dealership agrees.. the size of the dash doesn’t mean it’s more attractive that’s just size, the S is a bigger car but from a design perspective they nailed it with the E.
Are you assuming I haven't driven it? lol.. I own the New E400 4 matic coupe.. and know that the S has an overall stronger interior but the dash on the E I believed has a better look. Especially with all the wood trim that is present. The S seems to be mostly leather and very little trim and I dont like how center console and dash connect. Again some of this boils down to taste, visually I prefer looking at the E Dash than the S dash.. but from a materials perfective the S will always have extra details in the finish.
That car is real low to the ground, it's little, it just have to doors, and it cost too much money! It's a waste of money really! That's why not very many people buy sports cars.

Jalin Fuller -- BMW is faster and more fun to drive though the Mercedes has great performance too. However, The Mercedes looks ten times better and has higher resale value! At this price point, looks, performance and resale value matters!

Depends on what stage of life you're in IMO. I have a 4 series & I love it! But as I get older I'm looking for something that's going to last for a while & the MB drive train is bullet proof, everyone knows that. I also had to ask myself, "How many OLD BMW's do you see driving around? Not many, but you see older MB's all the time, 10 20 + year old MB's all over the place. It's rare to see a 1990's 7 or 5 series. But you see old E classes all over.
It's a nice coup style , I like this sporty look . I had S550 that had spent $20K on maintenance over 3 years of ownership . I believed all these advanced electronic features will go wrong very often . That's the common issues of the European cars and fixing is not cheap !
