When I did this, I just removed the arms myself and drove to a shop and have them install my bushings and balljoints for me. They have the hydraulic presses to get the bushings/ball joints in/out. then I go back home and bolt it all up. Clean everything up, paint the arm and presto.
Whenever i've used my spring compressor, i insert the center rod through the bottom of my LCA. And all that bushing work makes me glad ive got a facelift w124, just buy new arms and i'm good to go!
Dashcam Vancouver & Lower Mainland i do the same, from the bottom. I also have the non rebuildable arms on my 124’s so dont have to do this nonsense either. But i was just watching on this and letting him do things his way.

btw, there was a video about replacing your front struts. did you only knew it was bad when you removed it? or was there any tell tale signs before removing? perhaps diving? strange noises? I just trying to figure out if mine are on the way out... cheers
It helps if you just buy an battery powered impact to remove all the bolts. I'm using some big DeWalt drills to remove bolts quickly. And I use the drills for my construction job 🤙I reaaally want one of those Milwaukee stubby impacts. It's a lot better than wrenching and ratcheting most of the time.
Cool video guys. I need to service the lca on my c124 too. It dosent look much different. Found a bushing kit and balljount for 30£ Febi/side. I have a press but no bushing puller, like you guys had. Is that really a must?
I think it helps prevent deforming the new bushes when pressing them in. On my m104’s the arms are throw away ones so its not a tool ill ever have to buy probably. On those its not even worth replacing the bushings as the balljoint cannot be replaced.
Bushings are different because the w201 has bushings for w201 with sport suspension and bushings for regular suspension. The first set of bushings removed were for sport suspension. The new set being installed is for regular suspension.
vince jones they would have been purchased from the usual places such as pelican parts, fcp euro or even possibly they classic centre if they were genuine parts which I do not recall. I only helped him with my press Im not sure where the parts came from.

absolutely none of it done by me too - maybe i touched 1 bolt and held some things being pressed and that was about it.

Good video, but are these the right bushings? I ask because I know they changed the bushing at one point. What bushing kit did u use?
