    The Primos Tightwad is only $20 bucks and holds a pattern just as tight as the Jelly Head.

    Thanks for the video, I would definitely not hold at the head on a real turkey. Hold on the waddles. I have shot some with a friend and I have found that some of the older late 90 chokes like mad max, undertaker from h.s for example work really well with Long beard XR. I used to shot the Hevi-Shot magnum blend which was great but for the money i changed. I shoot Mossberg ulti mag 835 with strut stopper supreme choke and 3 1/2 LB XR 5 shot and shoots great.

    MY CHOKE OF CHOICE ON MY 20 GA BERETTA A300 IS THE CARLSON'S LB XR SHOOTING 2 OZ OF TSS #9 ROCKY RIDGE SHOT A BETTER PATTERN THAN MY 3" 12 GA WITH LB AMMO. THE TSS SHOT 80 TO 100 PELLETS IN HEAD AND NECK AT 42 YDS LASER MEASURED. PERFECTLY BALANCED PATTERN TOO NOT TO TIGHT WITH VERY FEW TINY VOIDS. OUTSTANDING!!

    Your best bet would be to get a red dot. That way you could aim right at the head and know you hit him. Great video👍

      Yes definitely doing that for next season and thank you!

    Worth noting for the TSS, it’s made for tungsten which is heavier, so it will hold tighter than lead. That said I shoot LB XR, but it goes to show that the proper load is needed for the choke you have equipped

    • @nativeoutdoorz
      @nativeoutdoorz  Před 4 měsíci

      The advertising on the packaging of the TSS says it’s for TSS, Heavy shot or lead shot. I agree it will probably do best with TSS but they do advertise it for either. Also I’ve seen different shotguns do some crazy things.

    Could you try Avian X extended range. I find its a hidden gem. I took a 25lb bird at 60 yards and dropped him in his tracks. Used Winchester 3” long beard #5

    did you watch your cross wind? looks like its blowing pretty damn hard might not be a big deal at 10 but tust me at 40 that strong wind will push your shot. jmo

    • @nativeoutdoorz
      @nativeoutdoorz  Před 3 měsíci

      Yea somebody else mentioned that too, definitely didn’t think too hard about that. I’m going to try and go back out on a day with less wind to get a better idea. As far as shot pattern the long beard XR I still think did the best

  • @JacksonBaumgartOutdoors

    Did you try it with just the basic factory choke?

    • @nativeoutdoorz
      @nativeoutdoorz  Před 2 měsíci

      This gun did not bring a factory full choke

    • @JacksonBaumgartOutdoors
      @JacksonBaumgartOutdoors Před 2 měsíci

      @@nativeoutdoorz I see. I just shoot the factory full choke which isn’t quite as tight as turkey choke, but sometimes that can be beneficial and give more room for error especially when hunting in close in the timber

    Why didn’t you aim at the same spot to get a true comparison at 25 yards? Why aim more left with the jelly head and say it shot better?

    • @nativeoutdoorz
      @nativeoutdoorz  Před 4 měsíci

      Kentucky windage lol! I was compensating for my shotgun naturally shooting slightly right. If I kept a true aim I’d keep getting a bunch of shots off paper which was not the point of what I was trying to do. The point of the video was to see which choke had a better shot pattern. The chokes did not affect where those shots were hitting

  • @heathalford4721
    @heathalford4721 Před 4 měsíci +1

    You may need an optic of some sort to shoot straight. I’ve seen some guns do and some don’t

    • @nativeoutdoorz
      @nativeoutdoorz  Před 4 měsíci

      I agree, for next year I want to possibly have a dedicated turkey 20 gauge with a red dot optic. The reason I didn’t throw a red dot on this gun is because I would’ve had to get it drilled and tapped and I do use this gun for wingshooting as well so not ideal to have a rail sitting there when not needed.

    • @heathalford4721
      @heathalford4721 Před 4 měsíci

      @@nativeoutdoorzmeadow creek makes a mount that mount to the barrel rib for red dots. My Franchi shoots true by the bead but it went with it just bc of being drilled and tapped from the factory. It’s expensive but for the 20ga I really like the tss

    The real lesson of your efforts is that you need some kind of adjustable sights preferably a red dot.

  • @junielcamejo4542
    @junielcamejo4542 Před 4 měsíci

    The reason your gun was shooting to the right is probably cuz it was super windy

    • @nativeoutdoorz
      @nativeoutdoorz  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Definitely a possibility I hadn’t thought about. But also idk if at 20 yards the wind would be that much of a factor for a heavy turkey load. Definitely leaves me thinking though
