Vettel's monza win will always be my favorite
This
still gives me chills
Itâs no doubt the most impressive 1st win in F1 history. Youâd have to go back decades to find another driver winning with an underdog machinery in an underdog team. Especially during their rookie season
SEBASTIAN VETTEL IS A GRAND PRIX WINNER!
No Perez is mine he qualified last got into a incident and still managed to win with a mediocre car
Last to First by Sergio Perez đ„đ„
Also with an older engine
He was insanely lucky to win that race.
@@napalmhotdog4365even with no luck he would have finished on the podium or within a whisker of it
Without any luck he would have been last no SCâ@@sloppynyuszi
Nothing impressive especially when you remember that the car he had and also the engine excuse is lame he had a 3 race old engine
He was lucky
@@MuhammadNiz007what no SC? The first one for the lap 1 crash HAD to happen, that ain't luck, that's how it's supposed to be, the second one didn't matter much cuz check was in 3rd by the time it happened, 0 chance he'd be last
This rank is so bad it's insane.
What would yours be?

"The Race" and "Wtf1" has an infamous reputation of being Petronas Mercedes channel No.2
@@anoyingmasterI mean, winning on debut for a team, especially as a rookie driver, is a massive fucking feat. No matter how you feel about a certain driver or YT channel, you cannot possibly ignore that
Gaslyâs rating is harsh. He did have a bit of fortune with Hamiltonâs pitstop, but he had to fight off the Mclaren of Sainz, and the Pink Mercedes, which was arguably the 2nd fastest car that year
no way racing point was 2nd fastest lol
@@pikaczka44 If you swap the Red Bull and Racing point drivers, Racing point would have almost certainly finished ahead in the constructors
@@pikaczka44 The racing point was faster in the tracks with long straights. I would say that the redbull was in less than of of the gp's faster. The redbull looked fast because max was getting everything out of that car
In the hands of stroll it was more like the 5th fastest car. 3rd with Perez. Red bull was comfortably the second best car.
Sure but he was running 12th before his pitstop and the SC. He won as he was only car that managed to pit for fresh tyres before the pit lane entry got closed
Objectively, Checoâs was the best. Even had Mercedes not bottled the race, he wouldâve been 3rd in what was clearly the 4th fastest car. The first lap incident wasnât his fault, he was just lumped into it. The tyre management and pit strategy were great, and all of his overtakes were nicely done. I donât understand all the hate checo gets, seriously.
Says a lot to their former domination that most of these relied on the Mercedes cars being hindered in some way, not just out paced
Now it's basically just Max needing to be hindered in some way for other teams to capitalise.
So do you enjoy the sport as a whole or a you fan of 1 particulair team or driver?
I enjoy the sport as a whole and enjoy every win from who ever wins.
đ O
You didnât watch their seasons did you? I have and Iâve rewatched them, they werenât dominant at all compared to Red Bull since 2022âŠ
@@SirCodezyy 2014-2016 they were untouchable. 3 year period, same as Red Bull (but just Max). 2017 and 2018 had some competition. 2019-2020 they absolutely ran away with it again.
Their dominance was in the sport was huge. 8 WCCâs is a row is considered very dominant.
Leclerc's right after losing his friend in F2 was the most emotional.

Perez's last to first was insane. Yes he had some luck but he still put himself in the position to capitalize on it from the back of the grid. I'll never forget that race.
No way Max's is best. I'd have to give it to Hamilton honestly. Max relied on the exact same luck as Pierre.
Hmmm. Gasly had way more luck. The pit lane closure, safety car and red flag worked out perfectly for him.
Verstappen got lucky too, not to the same extent. And it was his first race.
I could see Hamilton's being best though.
Youngest driver to win a gp.
And his debut on the Red Bull Team.
Yes, that's a 1st for sure
And Canada was only Lewis's 6th race in F1. No hate to Max but he doesn't win that race without the Mercs first lap crash. Sergio was the first lap crash, yet still wonâ@@canlein415
How do all the other âhe needed other drivers to crash and good strategy callsâ end up near the bottom and Max ends up 1st đ
Because it was his first grand prix in a new car?
First gp in a new car and 18 years old
What did you expect?
Perez first win was the best. Last to first is incredible. Noones done what perez did. That was crazy with a 4th constructors car
Damn the French bashing went hard sainz was gunning for pierre
So Gasly, Ocon and Ricciardo won through good fortune, yet you've put Max first for the exact same good fortune. Strange ranking
True, but I think what made the difference is that VER only had two days (4 sessions) to get accustomed to a car he had never driven before with a totally different engine (RBR had Renault and STR had Ferrari at that time) which gave different handling and operation characteristics and still managed to win. Usually a racing driver needs at least two full weekends to get him-/herself comfortable with car, setup and handling (Bearman for instance already had many test laps in older Ferrari cars when he filled-in for Sainz). That's what made it absolutely bonkers at that time.
Ricciardo not as much as the other 2 considering he had pace in hand even if Max and Lewis wiped each other out.
@@maestroazzeyverstappen actually had many practice runs with the redbull before getting the seat
Verstappen is a cold monster behind the wheel, winning on the first time it's the biggest fuck you all
I gotta say though I watched Checoâs first win and it was the best race Iâve ever watched live, and thatâs saying something
While it was aided by the biggest threats being out the way, Perez going last to first was incredible. Same for Verstappen winning that young even if it was gifted by the infamous crash.
Gaslyâs is one of the more emotional ones though, given how his career had gone and his sitting on the podium alone is iconic
In both races if you werenât in a merc you couldnât win so had to rely on luck or they wouldnât win at all
Gasly sustained immense pressure from Carlos behind in those final laps. It would've been very easy to make a mistake but fortunately he didn't! đ„
I would rank Hamilton higher.
Yes he had one of the two best cars this year, but that 2007 Canada Grand Prix was nuts. I think 5 or 6 Safety Cras only 8 or 9 cars finished the race it was crazy.
For me leading the race under such circumstances as a rookie in your 7th race is truly incredible.
Higher than 3rd? You just said it yourself, only half the grid even finished and most importantly only the Ferrari and McLaren could challenge for wins in 2007 & 2008 with the McLaren being the better car overall. It's always easier to manage difficult situations when you have an outright pace advantage. After all Heidfeld and Wurz finished in 2nd & 3rd. I think 3rd place in this ranking is if anything, quite optimistic.
It is a little generous, but fair.
@@AndyHack10 in my opinion it is more difficult to manage such an chaotic race at the front, every time you have to defend at the restart, make the right strategy calls to not get stuck in the pack.
To say he had it easier because half of the field didn't finish, counts also for Verstappen and Perez both had to rely on blunders by Mercedes.
But it is my opinio, of course Verstappen had an incredible race also Perez but in my eyes That Race was the best FIRST win.
â@@AndyHack10 Clearly know nothing as BMW and Renault could regularly challenge for wins in 2008.
@@liam4603 BMW and Renault had one win in 2008, not counting Renault's crashgate win which McLaren obviously benefitted the most from in the big picture. Toro Rosso also won a race. So out of 18 races 14 were won by McLaren and Ferrari, i'd say that says it all.
No way Sergio isn't number one! Pierre Gasly is also one of my all time favorite first time winners.
Verstappen fan here. Surely Perez' and Verstappen's win need to be switched around.
Last to first INCLUDING a message to the Pit Wall doing their job "Now's a good time to pit" beats everything.
Gasly deserve better than 12
How the fuck does Verstappen rank first in this over all the others when he literally got gifted the lead by 2 Mercs taking each other out đ Utter nonsense
It was his debut race and he was 18 years old đ
@@fortunasp5391Nah it was his second season and the both front runners took each other out. Top 5 but definitely not number 1 for a conditional win đ
Verstappen had to defeat Riakonnen, Ricciardo, and Vettel that race. It's true that he had what would be the better strategy over Ricciardo and Vettel, but he had Riakonnen breathing down his neck the whole race.
Dude, he was put in a Red Bull for the first time, he defended against Raikkonen and Vettel, and was only 18 years old.
@@PG-20 18 years old with a years experience in F1 already, with a faster car than the Ferrari and the Merc's both out of the race - not saying it's not impressive, but most impressive of everyone? I don't think so.
Best one is Vettel. I know heâs not on here but 2008 in a TORO ROSSO!
And in the wet! Even more impressive!
@@arjunnair8037 which was basically a repainted minardi.
For me its Perez first win. I literally cried on that day
You chose Verstappen over Perez Perez went last first with a car. He didnât even had the chance to win
So this weekend, F1 will have 12 GP winners line up on the grid...what is the greatest number of GP winners to ever line up in a race before (and I don't know, I'm genuinely curious)?
Best first win was Mark Webber's (yes I know he's not a current F1 driver). Drive through penalty and still obliterated the field, including a certain German team mate. The emotional radio message afterwards still gives me chills.
2016 was the year I started watching F1. I remember Martin Brindle referring to Max as "young man" over and over when chastising his aggressive driving style in the Toro Rosso. I became a fan so it was really exciting seeing his first win when he got promoted to Kvyat's seat.
Perezâs win is an all time moment
Funny how many of these needed help either from other sources, better strategy or Mercedes deciding to have trouble
I think Lando deserves more than this
nah he deserves lower than ocon, if the safety car had been done properly he wouldnât have come out ahead of verstappen at the pits
Literally a free win because of a race control error
@@jackmcculloch6480 Ocon got lucky and came out In first, barely outpacing Vettel in a dogshit AM and needed Alonso to defend for half the race, Lando was just the quickest driver on track for the last 30 odd laps of Miami
Perez was crazy
Gasly 12th lmao
i think perez should be #1.
Hamilton navigated 4 safety cars and won in his first season after only 6 races against reigning 2x world champion Alonso!
Iâve only been watching hardcore since 2020 so have only seen the first wins of Gasly, PĂ©rez, Ocon, Sainz, Russell and Norris but gosh I feel these rankings are messed up.
Sainzâs first win was really underwhelming, Norrisâ was a good show of skill but nothing spectacular, same with Russellâs.
PĂ©rezâ, Oconâs and especially Gaslyâs felt otherworldly when they happened. The celebrations and shock of the wins was huge and the tension all three created to maintain the lead to the line was awesome. Will never forget Ocon holding off Vettel all race with Alonsoâs immense defending of Hamilton to assist or Gaslyâs nail-biting chase by Sainz to win Monza. Not to mention they were driving an Alpine and an AT respectivelyâŠ
Of those Iâve seen Iâd be rating:
1. Gasly
2. Ocon
3. PĂ©rez
4. Russell
5. Norris
6. Sainz
Letâs just insult every driver đđđ
WTF so un necessary
We all know the stories
Russell's first win was unexpected dominant
What exactly is the ranking criteria here? I would've expected skill or strategy but it seems you ranked based on how much luck was involved
Lmaooo wait max won the first race he was promoted?? Thatâs tufff
Not sure Gasly should be ranked last here.
The Sainz/Lance/Norris trio behind him were in faster cars, and while some fortunate timing was involved doing that right after the 1 year anniversary of Hubertâs crash it would have been understandable if he slipped up.
Perez basically saved his career with that win, but starting 5th & getting off soft tires, (that Lance did 1/2 the race on) for the safety car restart is a forgotten but ultimately crucial moment, (along with Mercedes forgetting how pitstops work).
norris got "help" to get a head of stappen but still put down 7 seconds on him. he didnt need help
Max made an error and Lando capitalised. Lando's win was very controlled
Norris got the help of both SC and Verstappen's Red Bull struggles on the hard tyre. If anyone missed it, the Chinese GP was the last race where Lando overtook a car.
Yeah, this guys have less criteria than the FIA
Vettel won a wet race... in a minardi. come on.
Which part of current f1 drivers didn't you understand
Donât worry, they had to put Verstappen there just cuz heâs the current dominance đ
It's current drivers. Also, Vettel was helped by a team decision, to set their cars up for wet weather, the only other driver with a car fully set up for wet weather was Vettel's teammate, Bourdais, who wasn't very good in F1 (despite showing in other forms of motorsport, that he is actually a good driver). I'd argue Max's win was more impressive, even if he had a better car than Vettel had.
Also, it wasn't a Minardi, Toro Rosso were in their 3rd season in 2008, their only car that you could even slightly call a Minardi (still incorrectly) was their 2006 car.
Are u ignorant or just don't know how to read
Ranking makes no fucking sense. Some at the bottom for luck yet Verstappen at the top
It did hurt you i see
@peterwilles7227 just confusing and non sensical. How can you contradict yourself in the exact same short
Rigged, Verstappen fan o'clock!
The fact that Verstappen literally would not have won had the Mercs not binned it. Vettel's first win at Monza will always be the best for me
So you've said Gasly needed good fortune so ranked him last, yet you've given Max first despite the exact same reason? Lol.
Verstappen is worst than at least PĂ©rez
I would rank Perez's, Russell's, and Hamilton's, Leclerc's and Bottas' maiden wins over Verstappen's, even if I think Verstappen is a better driver than most of the ones I listed.
Honestly, Checo's is probably the best!
Greatest ever first win probably Vettel 08
Second greatest first win Hamilton 07
Third greatest ever win there is nothing better than these two.
Context of the story: the help of Mercedes đ
Perez 1st Max 2nd Carlo's 3rd Leclerc 3rd as well
bro the logic is a little inconsistent. my favourites have got to be Gasly's win and Perez's. They had to push really hard in those races in like standard midfield cars.
Edd Straw: "Gasly's win relied on great fortune."
Also Edd Straw: *No.1 Max Verstappen.*
Max first? What a joke
Perez 1, Hamilton 2
I'd have to swap Perez and Verstappen but solid list
Dont forget all good cars were killed and 2020 force india was a very strong car
Webber's first win trumps them all. So many opposing forces that day, most of all his own team.
Carlos only won because Ferrari boxed Charles too early lol đ
