One of the best aspects of Ventura's heel commentary is that he didn't just shit on the faces, he would say how good they are, what skills they have, what the heels need to watch out for, etc. He also would call out heels when they made mistakes or missed a chance to win the match.
    A great commentator.

plus he had limits to what he would accept as a heel (which is important when you need to put something over as truly atrocious) and was a consistent character. For instance even when Macho Man was a face Ventura still was a fan. He didn't suddenly hate him

@@planescaped Actually kinda bums me out a little, that does.
On one hand as an English lad who's collected since the 90's (and still has 90% bagged, boarded and boxed), I'm thinking, good! Finally! It was my boyhood dream that England get more involved in comic book stores and having comic book heroes just like America. I wanted JL and FF and Avengers to be mainstream over here. You know, other than like football, fortnite and tiktok... or in my day, _just_ football. Finally, I'll have people to talk to about story arcs, events and give/receive recommendations.
On the other hand... you get everyone giving it the "yea, always been a big fan of Harley Quinn" and "did you know Deadpool breaks the 4th wall?!?"
Sounds so petty of me, but... its crazy who gets over to mainstream audiences, and sometimes I feel like having an Alan Partridge "Stop getting Bond wrong!!" outburst sometimes.
As for the Kirby thing... don't worry they'll be full of wiki facts and facebook feed stuff to regurgitate about him in the hype build-up to The Eternals.

Its great that more people are showing an interest, but then the reality sets in when they only like it because it is trendy and doesn’t actually want to care about the source which made it awesome.
Seriously it disheartening that whenever I have a discussion regarding favorite Avenger villain I am on the receiving end of weird looks when talking about how characters like Kang was the definitive arch nemesis for the team instead of somebody they know like Thanos.

Actually, it wasn't the blot-clot that ended his in-ring career. That was temporary. He was cleared to wrestle again, hence tagging with Macho in subsequent years. But he'd already found a much more comfortable, easy-schedule, non-bump-taking job as commentator and simply chose to stay with that. He didn't have to be on the road, do house shows, or take bumps. Jesse preferred being a commentator.

OSW Review HD what conspiracies did Jesse make false claims about exactly? You guys crap on any and all conspiracies because you are too scared to publicly admit any conspiracies yet to be exposed by the mainstream media to be true on your show even if the evidence is readily available. How about it 2021 and going forward just not even mentioning conspiracies or peoples beliefs on certain topics to avoid coming across as ignorant sheep or offending the intelligence of many of your viewers. I was at SummerSlam 1999 in St.Paul, Minnesota and was right up along the entrances way, I got a few handshakes. It maybe wasn’t one of the best SummerSlams or PPVs that year but it was fun and i sort of stopped watching and keeping up with it around late 2000 early 2001, so anything beyond that I don’t really know outside or vids like these. But I was there for the Monday Night Wars and I got to see WCW Nitro 3 times and WWF Raw 3 times in person live between 1996-1999, it was awesome and then to realize it was like the peak golden era of sorts.
Especially when I think of all the legends and new gen attitude or peak nWo era wrestling, when even the cute girls at school were wearing Austin 3:16 and DX shirts, it was brilliant lol, and Jesse was surprisingly an actually decent governor for his time. Anyway thank you so much for the awesome content.

I’m surprised they didn’t get sued by DC comics with the antilife equation thing. In DC comics, an eternal galactic despot named
Darkseid, a new god and ruler of Apokolips, a war planet essentially made of fire and torture named Darksied is constantly searching for the anti-life equation.
Basically Darkseid is DC comics Thanos, and the antilife equation is his infinity gauntlet.

I love how Jesse Ventura is wearing a Plato’s Retreat shirt in some of the clips at the beginning of the retrospective. That place was a sex club in New York City that was shut down for health violations. It had a buffet out in the open that probably had all sorts of bodily fluids near and on the food.

I went to the Wikipedia page and found a couple of choice passages about the place.
Plato's Retreat was a "members-only" establishment that required everyone to follow the club's rules. Levenson barred male homosexuals, and accepted only straight couples - and women, escorted or otherwise - in the premises. Once a woman left a room after a sexual encounter, her male companion had to accompany her within two minutes. This rule was intended to ensure that women nearly always outnumbered men. Levenson strictly prohibited sexual activity between males but welcomed lesbians. Drugs, including alcohol, and prostitution services were forbidden, though, by subsequent accounts, prostitutes did frequent the premises and there was "rampant" use of drugs (most often quaaludes) by patrons.
Owner Levenson often partook in sexual activity on the premises, once winning a bet against Al Goldstein and 'Butch' Katz, owner of 42nd Street's Roxy Burlesk theater, that he could ejaculate fifteen times within a twenty-four-hour day.
In 1985, New York City Mayor Ed Koch backed the New York City Health Department's decision to shut down the city's gay bathhouses, in response to concerns over the spread of HIV/AIDS. In closing the gay bathhouses while allowing the heterosexual swingers' clubs - most notably Plato's Retreat - to remain open, the city found itself in violation of the newly adopted anti-discrimination law. The Health Department, with Koch's approval, reacted by ordering the heterosexual clubs, including Plato's Retreat, to close as well. The club's Manhattan location was shut down on New Year's Eve 1985, ostensibly for violating public-health ordinances.
