It's not about emotion, it is about total concentration. In a game where the press of a button in the right 60th of a second can win or lose a match you really need it.
Completely agree. Regardless of Nerfs or buffs his reaction timing and his knowledge on akumas game play has gotten insanely ridiculous. He hits the Wrath of the Raging Demon faster than anyone else i've ever seen so far.
For Yun it's like 4-6, mainly because Yun can keep applying pressure for almost no cost and Akuma's usually running-away tactics don't work. You have to start the vortex on Yun RIGHT AWAY to make sure Yun won't win. Vs. Cammy, it's pretty much about who gets the first knockdown, and Cammy has a much easier time getting a hard knockdown on Akuma than Akuma on Cammy.
We can argue everything that Daigo didn't sleep well or that he didn't eat enough during breakfast but at the time, Daigo was either #1 or #2 best Yun at the time so if he's having problems, I'm sure other Yuns would have it too if not worse. I think it's a fair comparison to say the least with Daigo vs Infiltration since both of them are top players and both are the top if not close to it for their respective characters.
Daigo makes any character seem top tier. Put Ryu you Daigos hands and he is the best in sf4. Put Ryu in Alex Valle hands and you just get an above average pro. His decision making and handling under pressure is what seperates Daigo from mere mortals.
Whats with yuns backdash at 3:25 ? Everytime i have like 5 stamina, people just use those EX dp, and I cant land the backdash, I end up being hit by the dp during the back dash. Do I need to wait a bit, like, to use the backdash during the active frames of the dp, rather than the start up? I really cant land those, either waiting or mashing the backdash
That is true but if you look at Daigo vs infiltration in this video, Daigo's yun already has a lot of trouble and fluked some comebacks like backdash mp ex lunge into ultra. Nerfed damage, dive kick restriction, and nerfed meter building. A supposedly 6-4 matchup is really 4.5-5.5 or 5-5 (at least that's how i logic it to it like that). My reasoning for 4.5-5.5 or 5-5 is the same as what you said earlier which is why i put cammy slightly in favour or even.
I see what you're saying but I don't think the fact that he studies his opponent (maybe more so than the other players) means that he deserves no respect. The execution is still incredibly difficult at the top level no matter how much you study your opponents and I think he deserves credit for that. Besides that's a very common tactic used across just about all sports.
I know right. How people think Akuma has gotten ANY buffs is beyond me. From Vanilla to SSF4 he lost stand hard kick loop combos, whiff Demon Flip throw having no recovery and a LOT of damage and stun. From SSF4 to AE he lost escape air Tatsu but gained improved hitbox on Ultra II when cancelled from Teleport. In AE 2012 Demon Flip Palm is no longer an overhead and he's -2 frames on blocked standing Hard Kick.
Ok since people are talking about Tokido, I think he could beat anyone in an Akuma mirror match because he has Akuma's everything just down fuckin pat. But I think Infiltration does better in general because he's just so much more ballsy, he takes a lot more risks than Tokido and I think that pays off for him.
Notice Infiltration has problems against cammy? She's the only char left that can really rush down Akuma. I'm not saying seth, viper, and ibuki aren't but I honestly think Akuma has the upper hand in those matchups. Also, the twin nerfs made a huge difference against Akuma. Both of Akuma's harder matchups were gone and that's why we see him as currently the best character in the game.
What I see is Daigo making a lot of mistakes because Yun wasn't his main for a very long time and Infiltration knowing how to handle the situation because he's been using Akuma at least a little bit from the very beginning.
@VeNOM3099 Daigo said he'd pick Yun way before he was even announced. The fact that he ended up good only helped his decision to main him. It's not like he was the only person to switch mains to Yun either, lot's of people did, people only hate on Daigo because he's the best. Also it's not like nobody else tier whores either. Look how many people used Sagat back in SF4 and Ryu was way off top tier in SSF4, but Daigo stuck with him throughout those games. And since when has J.Wong got booed?
The real problem for akuma was the twins really and both of them were nerfed. Ofc infiltration did more hmk but if the twins were back to their old pre-patch selves, hard to say really :/
Infiltration was 3rd in evo 2010 and went to grand finals often way before he won evo 2012. Reasons for his improvement is not himself but akuma is buffed. Thats why infiltration still get rape by tokidos akuma till now.
Not necessarily Akuma has always been a great character, theres no way someone could win so much majors simply because their character has been buffed. It takes time and effort to improve which is what infiltration has done treating the game as his job. And on the Tokido, Infiltration matchup could simply just mean that Tokido is better at the mirror match.
Air fireball, air tatsu, demon flip (all 3), and HK safe jump setups. Unless you EX through his fireball, you usually get hit before that. Obviously I'm not saying to do a dumb unsafe jump and get grabbed in air. He excels in offense, vortex, damage, and running away. I do a watch a lot of tournaments. WNFs and Spooky's tournaments are those local ones but again, all you see is kbrad winning. Since I'm assuming you know more, name some other cammy players that won in tournaments then.
daigo is kinda like a pro player now, i think he need to make more results if he wants his sponsor to keep him so he choose yun godtiers even if he doesnt really want to
Honestly, I think he outclasses everyone else. In terms of air, he wins. In ground, he's at least above average, and AA wise, he's just behind Seth and Oni. Cammy actually has some bad matchups (very little ofc) but Akuma only really has like Yun... :/. I don't really see cammys winning that much tbh. Only recently Popi and Kbrad that one time
@KazuYoshitsuna My last comment was poorly put together since I typed it fast but I think tier whoring means picking a character that is high tier only for the reason of it being good. Picking a low tier character is exactly the opposite of tier whoring since you are willing to play a character that is not high tier. I don't complain about "tier whoring" btw....
@LaSwagga People need to also understand, that theres really nothing wrong with tier whoring. and it doesnt only go one way. Choosing a character because theyre not top tier is still tier whoring. Some people choose characters cause theyre good/top, some choose characters cause theyre bad /bottom, and some choose characters cause theyre not good or bad/middle. all tier whoring.
see this isnt even a bad matchup for akuma. even vs vanilla ae yun akuma can still make yun work for that win. only difference now is akuma doesnt have to worry about shit loads of damage from yun or his super long super combo anymore since it got nerfed
Infiltration isnt even close to a title like 'The Beast' Daigo is The Beast because he played well in all street fighters whereas Infiltration shone in sf4 in 2012.
For sure, a lot of people like to play unpopular characters simply for that one reason they aren't played by many others. This gives them more incentive to hone their skills and abilities and thus *top tier* becomes irrelevant, unless the character is actually unbalanced, which is something different completely.
That's not true. Im a huge fan of Daigo and this matchup in AE was 6-4 or even 7-3. So I've got to recognize that Infiltration is one step above Daigo.
He was never in grand finals of Street Fighter 4 until he won in 2012. That was his first and only time in grand finals for this game. It wasn't often way before then.
The two most technically skilled, mentally patient and durable players I've ever seen.
Great match.
Great match, Daigo's yun is so amazing. He always spaces his dive kicks perfectly to make them safe. I don't understand how he does it.
It's not about emotion, it is about total concentration. In a game where the press of a button in the right 60th of a second can win or lose a match you really need it.
3:27 is pure genius
Still fun to watch 😁
I really like how focused the announcer is.
one of the best fights I've seen
It's a non-zero-frame grab that can only work as a punish for very specific situations, and it's so goddamn punishable. It doesn't need nerfing.
Completely agree. Regardless of Nerfs or buffs his reaction timing and his knowledge on akumas game play has gotten insanely ridiculous. He hits the Wrath of the Raging Demon faster than anyone else i've ever seen so far.
SSF4 AE: Daigo Umehara (Yun) vs Infiltration (Akuma) - NCR 9 (Grand Finals)
thx. will u uploading daigo vs f champ ? that wad highlight in this torney, imo
Is Yun playing Dive Kick?
Lol
We can argue everything that Daigo didn't sleep well or that he didn't eat enough during breakfast but at the time, Daigo was either #1 or #2 best Yun at the time so if he's having problems, I'm sure other Yuns would have it too if not worse. 3:22 onward. Wow. So tense!
doesn't take away the fact that akuma is still a top tier character.
@Magnetronous Do you know Ryu's tier in SSF4? He's below Ken, Akuma and many others and he win all whit Ryu...
Yeah! Daigo, the champion again!!
daigo gets the better of this matchup. infiltration would get even next year. what a rivalry between these two. the magic/bird of SSF4.
its crazy how good these guys are! i wonder how they practice?
Whats with yuns backdash at 3:25 ? Everytime i have like 5 stamina, people just use those EX dp, and I cant land the backdash, I end up being hit by the dp during the back dash. Do I need to wait a bit, like, to use the backdash during the active frames of the dp, rather than the start up? I really cant land those, either waiting or mashing the backdash
@MajinKazuma when was this...
2nd fight of the first round, god dam comeback with yun XD
@Mearonm yea i totally forgot about that. that was hilarious
@tazer95 Probably. You've seen him when super first came out right? He can adapt to just about any character
I would say it's around a 4.5-5.5 or 5-5 for Akuma vs Cammy and Yun
That is true but if you look at Daigo vs infiltration in this video, Daigo's yun already has a lot of trouble and fluked some comebacks like backdash mp ex lunge into ultra. @Magnetronous
how so? he announced he would be playing Yun before we all knew he was top tier.
Where are your videos? And do you know what a crossup is?
I see what you're saying but I don't think the fact that he studies his opponent (maybe more so than the other players) means that he deserves no respect. The execution is still incredibly difficult at the top level no matter how much you study your opponents and I think he deserves credit for that. Besides that's a very common tactic used across just about all sports.
does Yun still have his same chain combo from 3rd strike?
Xenophile C yes and the new chain combo too
The Beast aka DAIGO!
I know right. How people think Akuma has gotten ANY buffs is beyond me. From Vanilla to SSF4 he lost stand hard kick loop combos, whiff Demon Flip throw having no recovery and a LOT of damage and stun. yeah right....you see anyone playing the EVO finals with Dan?
yea right....infiltration was the most dominant winner in EVO history...his Akuma destroyed Daigo's ryu...respect.
1. Turn on CC Transcribe Audio
2. Go to 6:24 where Seth says 'He was, he was guessing a little bit'
3. lulz
Notice Infiltration has problems against cammy? She's the only char left that can really rush down Akuma. Good shit Infiltration I was rooting for him oh well looks like Daigo will be winning all EVO
The Beast.
On the last fight, he let the other win the second round. Yun is really something even in street fighter iii, third strike.
vintage daigo is when he has 5 percent health and lower and pulls off the win!
lol did you see the FT10 with xian he did?
@LaSwagga Yeah, it's a pointless discussion, but it can be used as a testament to skill.
Would Daigo have won if he didn't use a high tier characters?
wait a sec went did Daigo started using yun?
which arcade stick are they using??
@tazer95 Yes. Watch him play super turbo back in 03-04
Agreed with you.
Infiltration got REAL good once he took that hat off
What's with the 240p crap?
whats that headset daigo using?
@VeNOM3099 Daigo said he'd pick Yun way before he was even announced. The fact that he ended up good only helped his decision to main him. It's not like he was the only person to switch mains to Yun either, lot's of people did, people only hate on Daigo because he's the best.

I miss this daigo
***** hahahaha
Poongko ended his career. Was never the same after that evo loss
Hope gets a buff this time around
Also, it's not like infiltration didn't mistakes either. He's had his share of screw ups with Daigo.
Well said donnk. Well said.
The real problem for akuma was the twins really and both of them were nerfed. Ofc infiltration did more hmk but if the twins were back to their old pre-patch selves, hard to say really :/

And Yun lost some combos as well (linking into lunge punch and ultra) plus nerfs on his command throw. Matchup drastically changes imo.
Akuma has been nerfed in every iteration of SFIV. Infiltration decided to get absurdly serious, that's how he got better.
Not necessarily Akuma has always been a great character, theres no way someone could win so much majors simply because their character has been buffed. It takes time and effort to improve which is what infiltration has done treating the game as his job. its all about honor ma man

He excels in offense, vortex, damage, and running away.
I do a watch a lot of tournaments. WNFs and Spooky's tournaments are those local ones but again, all you see is kbrad winning.
Since I'm assuming you know more, name some other cammy players that won in tournaments then.
@michaelxdrift I know, but would his win have been so decisive.
Gr8 players, daigo and infiltration.
yeah that is why we see the world champion (infiltration) counterpick. Right?
Go on and relate the buffs Akuma has gotten.
Infiltration wasnt a different player here. It just that yun was very powerful until they nerfed him. Infiltration was at his peak level in here.
@Linkcrc yesterday
well in street fighter it's not about the matchup it's how you play at the end
mannnn nice find
daigo is kinda like a pro player now,
i think he need to make more results if he wants his sponsor to keep him so he choose yun godtiers even if he doesnt really want to
He got pretty darn nerfed in the 2012 update
JAJAJAJAAJJAJAJA
me he meado de risa viendo al menda aplaudir motivadísimo
there are characters to have fun and characters for competition. Don't cry if you pick Dan or something.
Honestly, I think he outclasses everyone else. In terms of air, he wins. In ground, he's at least above average, and AA wise, he's just behind Seth and Oni. @LaSwagga cudnt have put it any better
and he is..watch some after evo suites
No Dive Kick is playing Yun
props to infiltration for not hopping on the twins sack.....he is the winner in my eyes.
Infiltration isnt even close to a title like 'The Beast'
Daigo is The Beast because he played well in all street fighters whereas Infiltration shone in sf4 in 2012.
Why did Seth K call this EVO? this a branch off? orrrr..
so why didn't tokido won if he is a better akuma? he did improve man
Diago probably flies home and back because he has a young kid back home.
Wish they add parry system into this game from SF3rd strike. Imagine the awesome matches with parry and focus...
For sure, a lot of people like to play unpopular characters simply for that one reason they aren't played by many others. "CHECK MY BACK" LMFAO .
I think yun is better than most characters but depends how they use him?
He was never in grand finals of Street Fighter 4 until he won in 2012. That was his first and only time in grand finals for this game. It wasn't often way before then.
taking notes on every player and making his opponents wait before every match to review also doesn't hurt.
not even surprise ^_^
Daigo Is like a robot no emotion for a loss or win on the other hand infiltration is like shit I lost or fuck yea got the win
Don't freaking become reckless when he gets meter.
@ultrakelv Yun isn't broken rofl.
