    Anybody who says Daigo is bad for how many fireballs he uses, he would still kill you without the fireballs. his footsies are amazing, with his reads being really good as well.

    The most amazing thing, to me, is how Daigo sets his pace with Ryu at that range. When I fight, I am in a frenzy to attack and land combos. This match has taught me that there are all sorts of ways of fighting in a match.
    Too bad when you play against most people, they would consider this cheap or spamming.
    I mean, why jump into a Zangief if you are a projecticle character.

    Besides some executions errors from both ends the match was awesome, Filipino Champ stood up very well against Daigo's Ryu and I'm also "impressed" Daigo is still able to play a solid Ryu after some time playing Yun, good stuff.

    9:05 - 9:16 : Daigo changes his game plan and begins unleashing hadoukens left and right. His whole game, so far, has been using hadoukens when it's absolutely safe. Daigo used this tactic as a bait for FChamp to poke out with a fierce. FChamp took the bait and Daigo punished him. Fucking amazing.

    The generally accepted Dhalism - Ryu matchup is 6-4 Dhalism, not "8-3." There is no way that it is 8:2, that is something like Vanilla Seth versus Vanilla Zangief.

    @UltimaWeapon08 I think that a lot of U.S. players that aren't familiar with the Twins and their tricks in 3rd Strike will struggle against them. There are not too many arcades in NorCal compared to SoCal though. The Silicon Valley area people has more access especially the Sunnyvale and Milpitas Golfland locations which have AE since almost a month after its release. It's an hour drive for me to go there, so the commitment to gi at least 3-4 times a week is pretty tough.

  • @royfancoolguy
    @royfancoolguy Před 13 lety +1

    Daigo's ryu is good to the point where this matchup is like 5-5 essentially, even when Flip has the overwhelming advantage in this 7-3 matchup. The moment daigo switches to yun to get a matchup advantage, you can see how easily Flip gets bodied. That shows how much of a better player daigo is essentially. Playing a 3-7 matchup like a 5-5 and playing a 7-3 matchup as a 10-0 matchup.

    I luv how when daigo was using ryu it was even, but when he used yun he ran a train over filipino champ. The sad part is that even if they make the necessary nerfs on yun, daigo would have still won the match.

  • @ushiwakamaru30
    @ushiwakamaru30 Před 13 lety

    @Dridokof well there's two things of note 1) Sim is a pretty bad match up for Ryu, all Sim has to do is use his awesome pokes to stop anything Ryu can do 2) Daigo has a pure rushdown style which is exactly the strategy you cannot use against Sim with Ryu because he has all the tools to stop you. If you noticed, Daigo had the life lead so many times yet he lost because he wasn't patient, and kept attacking which is what FC wants. On the other hand, with Yun, rushing down Sim is way easier.

    I was kind of disappointed to see FC get tagged by the SRK xx Super and SRK xx FADC xx Ultra setups. Umehara was just fishing for those opportunities lol. But what could he do, it's part of the game.

    @JacopeX he shouldn't put ryu down, that's for sure. the twins were broken in AE and everyone knows it. ryu got some rough nerfs too, but frankly the shoto's, ryu particularly, needs more of a learning curve. If the only way to do that is to demand more hits, then that's the option. If he still wants to play yun, I'm sure he'll find him entirely viable in ver. 2012.

  • @akumous
    @akumous Před 13 lety

    I don't think the twins are overpowered because they have their openings. The problem is that many players are inexperienced with the match up and instead of learning from their mistakes they complain for a patch.
    I'll be honest, Yun was one the second characters I picked up and I prefer him over Yang because he fits my style of play. However, learning how to use Yun effectively isn't easy and not every match up is walk in the park.

    @RedaSan Actually no it's a 6-4 match for Dhalsim over Ryu in Super. This is AE, a tier chart hasn't even been drawn up yet. But all the prominent Japanese players, have Ryu and Sim in the same teir class (B/upper low tier). Yun's God tier S rank, and the best character in the game just because of his offence that Sim has no answer for. You just saw a team shoto mirror in MVC2 then the looser countering w/ MSP mag/strm/psy. This is not a testament to Daigo's skill, Yun's a broken character

    Except that zoning permits Hakan a lot of freedom to oil up and mount an attack on considerably better terms than he is able to manage against most characters.
    It's not productive to state that Sim wins if he is able to successfully zone, particularly if you're not considering what his opponent might want to do. Against Sagat, for instance, Sim cannot win by zoning. This isn't because Sagat is a better character, per se, but Sagat's design and moveset allow him to beat Sim's zoning options.

    Dhalsim professional players, accept it or not, like it or not, always have the advantage fighting Ryu professional players. It is as simple as that. Daigo is just an exception, he is incredible, I've been following these tournaments (like most of you here) and I've seen reactions, moves and reads ONLY he can do. Now, with the Arcade Edition, Daigo has the change to play a character who is able to deal with Dhalsim limbs, and THAT'S what happens! FChamp only have a BIG mouth, and that's it.

    This isn't really sound reasoning. The tier standings you're referring to are almost all based upon a comparative analysis of how every character matches up with every other character. True, a matrix of character matchups shows that Hakan, compared to the rest of the cast, has an overwhelming number of bad matchups. However, calling Hakan the "worst" is a gross oversimplification. Just because he has the most disadvantageous matchups doesn't mean he doesn't also have good matchups as well.

    @Triplethreat99 Well, Daigo is extremely good with Ryu. He's mained Ryu for years. SF4 was released in 08 so Daigo's had lots of time with Ryu. So, that was to be expected. However, Yun was just released for SF4, and it's easy to just walk all over people with him. I've seen the matches with skilled players and I've seen players pick him for the first time and do serious damage with him. Yun is overpowered. I'm not necessarily mad at Daigo for playing Yun 'cause that's who he likes. *continues*
