So I work plain clothes, I was on a stop with a few other plain clothes Agents when a state trooper stopped by. He received a call stating there was a group of men possibly committing armed robbery on the interstate. When he stopped by, before he could even say anything, we immediately identified ourselves and showed our badges. We did not immediately get angry for being stopped. We understood why he could think the way he was. It’s called professionalism and understanding being in plain clothes comes with added responsibility
It’s not even professionalism, it’s putting yourself in someone else’s shoes and thinking about what may be interpreted by the situation.
It’s self awareness

Once the trooper confirmed that the plainclothes deputy was indeed law enforcement, that should have been the end of it. Assist the deputy as a back up or leave.

They're both just shouting 'STOP RESISTING!" at each other
😂
It's so they can go hands-on and be justified.
To me this video highlights how important it is for cops to wear body cameras whenever they are on duty.
This video shows way plainclothes officers shouldn't be a thing. If the cop can't tell the other person was a cop and there is no requirement for the officer to identify themselves then how is a normal person expected to know if the person is a cop or not and how can you hold someone responsible for resisting or not complying if they have any reason to legitimately believe the person is not a cop.
Cops should strap a video camera on the moment they punch in for work, leave it on all day without a mute button, and turn it off when they punch out.
in 2013, body cams were rare
I think this video is from 2013
Especially for the protection of the public.
😂 you nailed it with that “unintelligible clashing of egos” part
If I was the innocent citizen in that van... I would have filed a huge lawsuit for emotional distress, especially after the one cop screamed at the civilian, "why are you looking at me, eyes straight ahead". These guys were so unprofessional that they immediately should have lost their jobs. The people in the car must have feared a gun fight breaking out any second. Imagine if we acted like this... we would all do at least 3 months in jail for disorderly. If the public acted like that on a highway... the officers would also arrest them for putting an officer's life at risk.. I hope the people sue them.
This country needs to hold them to way higher standards than normal. It's not fair at all that these cops can act like bullies just because they have a badge, and can get away with a slap on the wrist, but if we sneeze at the wrong direction, we get a ticket or jail time.
I’ll bet you would have. Anything to get free $ from the taxpayers.

@@ChainsawFPV cops probably killed his dog to let out some rage.
It’s so insane to me that cops who VERY obviously display the inability to control themselves get the “full support of the department.” Obviously this trooper wasn’t tooooo concerned about his safety based on the way he approaches and how many other options he had besides approaching the way he did.
This was almost certainly him being butthurt that someone was on his “turf.” He easily could have radioed in and had dispatch take a couple mins to check other departments/districts to see if they had any UC’s out on the highway doing a traffic stop. He also likely would have radioed for another car if he truly felt like this could be a fucking armed carjacking by someone impersonating a police officer, and almost certainly would have kept some sort of cover approaching and likely would have just called the officer towards him instead of approaching the way he did.
We will see this cops name down the road in an excessive use of force or worse situation, I’d almost bet money on it
Ahh you speak sarcasm too! 😂

I would like to mention that several years ago I had an encounter with an Ohio State Trooper. He was extremely polite, courteous and professional. He was a really decent man and I guess he actually read the manual about behavioral expectations and took it serious. Although he did say this to me, "I know I shouldn't, BUT I'm going to let you off with a warning." So they do indeed have the discretion warn, ticket or arrest. Thank goodness my guy had a decent soul and a heart just like a real human being.
I had a very similar interaction with a sherrif recently and although I did deserve the stop he did send me on my way without even a warning for speed.
Sthu
This is great. They yell because they feel like they can control you, but if both of them have the same "power" the interaction becomes more interesting
Ego battle. I think it's funny that each agency investigated their officer and of course found that they did nothing wrong. It says that they're not supposed to yell or cuss but that's what I've seen in most videos, it looks like the opposite that you're supposed to cuss at the public when interacting with them.
@Republicansaretraitors Totheusa a sheriff has considerably more authority than a state trooper. Sheriff deputies are deputized by the Sheriff, an elected official. Within their county, the Sheriff deputies have greater authority than state police officers. That been said, this trooper didn’t do anything wrong. The Sheriff deputies just had a bruised ego. Finally, it’s hilarious how they sound like barking dogs.

@@krislewis63 You have every right to. If you're being pulled over by an unmarked car, you have the right to keep driving and call 911 to verify that it actually is a cop pulling you over. There were several incidents on Long Island, back in the 90's, where people were getting carjacked by unmarked "police" on the parkways. The NCPD and SCPD both issued statements on the matter. Also, if you are being pulled over, especially, in the middle of the night, you have the right to find a safe place, like a brightly lit parking lot or gas station. Just any public place with people around. I did that when I was a teenager. The cop was flashing and yelling at me over the loudspeaker. @@anarky4711 Lucky for you, your local government recognized the issue after one instance. Unfortunately for most of the country however. The dozens, if not hundreds, of body cam videos showing the arrests of impersonators across the country hasn't swayed any legislation.
Also laws against ghost vehicles. Low profile lights, painted so you can only tell it's a cop if you look directly at it in broad daylight from the side within a 60 degree arc from the side of the vehicle. Any other way and the paint won't light up enough generally to even show the markings indicating it's a cop, your only tell is if you can read the license plate in your rear view mirror, which good luck doing at night. One of my friends almost got arrested for driving off the freeway and all the way to a lit gas station before stopping, because he couldn't identify the vehicle was legitimately a cop based on it's markings, and this wasn't even when it was fully dark yet, the sun was only just going down. Dude just lit him up with all his floodlights and everything and it's impossible to even tell whose who at that point. Cops are so focused on their safety but then they make it impossible to tell if they're really cops sometimes, it's sketch as fuck. I personally know someone as well who was arrested for posing as a police officer, dude's a fucking con artist and I had to get away from him with my crew in a 24 foot box truck last minute with our gear, the whole 9 yards, out a bunch of money on the whole endeavor but it is what it is. But yea that shit's not that hard to fake these days
Good luck getting any lobbyists for such an issue, where is the profit involved for them? Best you're possibly going to get is some citizen advocates from the local level who will likely be arguing against police unions and their lobbyists, and I wonder who our elected officials would really listen to. All they'll have to do is spin a story about how they're just constantly being targeted when in marked vehicles and they could get the legislature to pass a law saying all stops must be done by unmarked vehicles for "officer safety" if they wanted to.
@@TheOriginalFaxon the town I grew up in, that's all they have now. Blacked out cars, with blacked out letters that shine gold if the light hits them in just the right manner.
this interaction demonstrates that the police dont like being treated the way they treat the average citizen
Exactly!!
they treat citizens like this only in the US..
This is the main takeaway.
“Unintelligible clashing of egos” tips the 🎂
Both them cops should be fired, especially the trooper who went absolutely bananas. Imagine being the state troopers next stop, you would have no chance of being treated fairly.
It would be funny if not for the people they pulled over having to endure all this.
I agree
Yeah man I honestly would have drove away three armed men screaming at each other by my car is not what I consider safe
@@theonlytinymunk4764 same here plus my car has cameras that record all around it including audio i would have drove off and later called 911 about the situation and would have a legit cut and close case for " fleeing" a traffic stop lol
Honestly, I hope the person sues for a violation of rights, since by the police holding them longer because they wasted time arguing, they held them longer than reasonable for the stop.
@@theonlytinymunk4764 I hear ya. Knowing the psychotic mind of all police who view the public as an enemy to themselves and eachother, I have no doubt the Bergen and State bootlickers would have instantly put aside ALL differences and worked together so that the traveling motorist did not get away without handing over his wallet, and resume their cat fight later to figure out how to divide the booty.
Take a bow gentleman. This should be used in police training videos across the nation. The way these gentleman politely handled themselves and cooperated during the entirety of this interaction is commendable. They went above and beyond with words of encouragement and sending each other well wishes! The fact they exchanged addresses for Christmas cards was something I didn’t expect to see. 👏🏻 👏🏻
this is probably how my teacher felt reading my Essays that i wrote knowing damn well i never read the book
Hahaha
It was true bromance.
Hahhaha totally
New Jersey Cops are so very nice and polite when they are talking and/or interacting with their "Fellow Police Officers". I would hate to see any interaction with Bad Guys in a Dark Alley at night!
"unintelligible clashing of egos"
Now if cops would honor people the same.
You know who I feel bad for? The motorist that has to deal with the pissed off cop that's just had his authority challenged.
After that trooper leaves he's going to have to go extra hard to prove HE'S in charge.
dang, that's a good point.
He’s not in charge. He’s a thug.
I'm actually impressed the motorist stayed... LOL.
Well, worst case scenario, if he can't find some poor motorist to show he's what's up, he can always go home and beat his wife....
Motorist should of just drove off after learning the undercover cop was conducting a traffic stop where only State Police have the authority to conduct a traffic stop. New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway can only be enforced by State Police.

We need more of such troopers!!! Imagine what happens to you if you as average citizen do ask cop for his ID, you will be faster on the ground down with your face than you can count.
No one in plain clothes should be pulling over anyone under any circumstances in the first place. How is a citizen supposed to know you’re a real cop if you aren’t presenting yourself as one?
Trooper immediately turns his back on the cop and allows him to get in his car. He knew this guy was a real cop.
Guy in the car: "yo, can you throw down after and just write my ticket so I can leave?"
Sounds like a couple of hippos fighting and crapping at each other over a cow.
(unintelligible clashing of egos)
had me 😂😂😂
I love it when two cops try to out-cop each other
Hahahaha! The CopSplaining was hilarious. Pure gold.
It's like two sharks eating each other. Lmao
It is best when they use violence.
…these guys were not behaving as professional police officers.
It is great to see that the de-escalation training is working for everyone.
I don't think that is a real thing just a tax write off or some way to embezzle money or make precincts extra cash
Not in 2013
Cop to trooper
Stop treating me like a common citizen!
