Lost my mom to COPD on 1/31/24 and have always empathized with his situation and his mom. But how low of a human can you be to blame someone for their parents death for choices of the parent. My mom was well off and could of changed her path but had the "im going to do what i want" attitude. Ultimately leading to her death "by choice" and volunteer hospice. Like zack had a real choice, His real choice was being there for her through that slow traumatic death. Much love for you Zack and i know you brush alot of the hate off but i know that seed is planted and shes so wrong man. All predatory by opportunity animals will stoop to the lowest place to get their little morsel.
Someone hurt that other streamer bad or just years of social abuse growing up and her now small base is just enough to give her that feeling of entitlement. I remember that one time bus drivers in Japan were giving everyone rides for free to protest against the transit companies. No one being inconvenienced other than the company that are being protest** against.
On the subject of protesting, you are only effective if you are protesting at the place where the people in charge that can effect change. For example if you want a governor to do something about a local matter? In front of its office would be the place to protest, not on the nearby mall or on the public road where you only disrupt people's lives, people that can't solve your issue. You have to think about how you can be effective depending on your issue. Being annoying and disrupting in a random place is not an useful way to protest.
The idea behind protesting in public places is (I'm assuming) to get the issue noticed by a larger number of people who then would press those in charge for change. But it never works that way. It's as Asmon says - your being a nuisance doesn't increase sympathy for your cause, it has the exact opposite effect (it increases hostility towards you and your cause). We get protests on public roads fairly often over here (particularly farmer and/or miner unions, with tire burning and whatnot) and the most common opinion people have about them is "how am I gonna get to/from work now, stupid mfs!". So whenever someone promotes being a pain in the ass to normal people as a way to enforce change in those in power is either A) is hundreds of miles away from it happening, B) is taking part in the even, or C) has never stepped foot out in the real world and talked to real people.

So I read some of the comments below and thank you to those who agreed. Unfortunately, I saw some comments where people made it seem like I left my mother to suffer alone and pass away, which is far from the truth. I never said I wasn’t there when she was suffering what I said was, I wish I had spent more time in general over the previous years unfortunately my job had me traveling the globe. It’s sad that somebody would jump to the conclusion that I would let a family member suffer alone. But that is the problem with people today and maybe it’s due to the illiteracy rate but people can’t seem to read what somebody wrote without adding fictitious conclusions just to get their little dig in.

I am from India and can tell about protests because we got Independance through "Non Violent" protests and marches. Mahatama Gandhi championed that. But our protests were not about blocking traffic and holding people to ransom on public streets. Gandhiji went into fasts in a specific location like public grounds or reserved areas , like a stadium. When he goes into fasting, denying himself the right to food and in some cases water.
That form of protesting establishes sacrifice as the moral high ground. Willingness to sacrifice one's own life for standing up to tyranny. That inspires people. In India that led to millions fasting for the Mahatma and refusing to become violent. It bought down an Empire. It stopped riots when the country was partitions.
Protest should be done from a higer moral ground and should be done only in extreme situations only after all other attempts for poltical change fails.

Money couldn't get my father from leaving his home when i lost him last year. As his health declined so did the condition of his home, which was understandable to me. But when I offered for him to come live with me , he just didn't want to,he said " i want to be in my home if my time is up". He spent his last days in his beautiful garden.

I'm currently watching a parent figure of mine go through this. They smoke almost a pack day. They seclude themselves in their home. NEVER go out with anyone. They own a dog which only gets walked like twice a day for about 150m. We tried talking to them. Inviting them to all kinds of things. Talked about the excessive smoking. But that person didn't improve a single thing for YEARS now. All we can do is watch while their amount of doctor's visits keeps increasing steadily.
You can't force people to get healthier. Only reach out a helping hand - whether they take it or not is up to them.
Yep. There is a saying that goes "You can bring a horse to water but you can't force them to drink." I've wasted a lot of time trying to help some people and they are too stubborn headed, expecially the older generation.

In my case the person does appreciate the concern from our family. But that's simply the way they enjoy their life right now. No one is getting hurt. Except for the dog - which we instead as family walk for them at times.

Rosa Parks didn’t block traffic. She peacefully and effectively protested, and we still remember her and her bravery. Blocking traffic and destroying other people’s property is criminal and chaotic, and no one respects that, or remembers who they were. Tell the person dying in an ambulance who can’t get to the hospital because you’re blocking traffic about your “protest”. It absolutely is a hostage situation.
I think the point he was making was to compare and contrast. The comparison was that she broke the law. The contrast is she was breaking the law explicitly to protest the law itself. Which opened up people's eyes to how dumb the law was to exist. People saw an old woman sitting on a seat that nobody else was sitting in because she was tired and getting her ass beat because it was decided that certain people shouldn't be allowed to sit certain places even if nobody is sitting there and the people who have the right to sit there did nothing she didn't to earn it. So while vastly different the action of breaking the law was similar. This is why comparing and contrasting is a thing people do. The point isn't to say they are the same. But to prove why they are different and why the differences are more important than their similarities.

I’m overweight and smoke weed all the time. I’ve also lost 100lbs, have a degree in electrical automation and have a passionate hobby of computer building. I know Kacey very well. I helped Kacey with her streams for many years. I helped her exit a toxic, dependent relationship with Frank(catcam). I even helped her get into therapy after that since she had a lot of past underlying issues. We were in constant communication and other matters I prefer not to discuss, and she did me SO dirty in the end. I could have ruined her at her peak if I wanted by her actions alone. When she left Frank and moved in with her sister, she was finally free to do what she wanted; too bad she emulated Holly by partying, slutting around, and doing drugs; it really changed her. She has deep psychological problems, being a compulsive liar at the least. It's ironic-she mentioned that Joshua holds degrees in psychology. Yet, he seems obliviously unaware of the type of person he's involved with, possibly another dependent on her, much like her father.

blocking traffic is considered false imprisonment. Its almost the same thing as having a slave locked in your basement in a legal sense.
The reason protests happen is because is because there's a big enough sentiment that something wrong is happening, and people want do show mass discontent. Generally speaking governments don't care about these things because they are the wealthy elite that don't care about what the average joe thinks, that's why part of a protest point is to inconvenience people/services, because if it doesn't have a tangible effect it remains ignored.
This is the same reason strikes happen, if there's no tangible effect on worker movement, bussiness owners will not do shit.
The reason governments worldwide need to regulate and support protests/strikes is because they can't just arrest thousands of people whose "crime" was inconveniencing other people, it's not realistic, so they just make guidelines that people need to follow so harm is kept to a minimum acceptable, when government doesn't cooperate, shit happens like in france or any other country where people are not afraid to fuck shit up if the power structures do not listen to the voice of the people.

In regards to protesting, We had a similar thing in UK with the 'just stop oil' protests, people against new oil contracts in the UK. People sitting in and blocking roads, blocking severely ill people getting to hospital appointments or pregnant women in labour not being able to get in to hospital. People can't get to work or school. It really doesn't help, they get zero support from those who's lives they are affecting. Just get off the roads people

What many people don't realize is that you have Constitutional rights only until those rights infringe on someone else's rights. At which point, you don't have that constitutional right anymore. If this was purely just a peaceful protest, there'd be no problem. However, there are instances of Jewish students being attacked, intimidated, and prevented from going to their classes. Some of them are locking themselves in their dorm rooms out of fear of the above. This does not sound like peaceful protesting to me, and I think that's the reason authorities are trying to put a stop to it.
