    Quick tip: there is an in-engine function to automatically destroy particles once they've finished playing! There should be a dropdown menu labeled "Stop Action," which you can set to "Destroy" to destroy the particle system once it's finished.
    Thanks so much for the advice! This video makes my eyeballs and brain happy.

      Wow! I had no idea about that. Does it destroy the entire object, plus children?

    • @AlienoidNovace
      @AlienoidNovace Před 4 lety +7

      @@LycheeGameLabs It does destroy the entire object, so I'm like fairly certain it destroys children by proxy. I can't check right this second but I'd bet, like, a dollar on it at least.

    It would be very helpful to go into the details of setting up the actual particle effect rather than just drawing a particle.

    I would love to see your art tutorials. I just started to learn hand drawing but I'm not good. And it's really hard to find resources for game art! 🙃

    Instead of making a texture, you can just set the size and color to be random at the start for the mini water droplets on the fountain turtle thing

    Hi, nice video. Could you make a video about the effect at 0:29 or link it anywhere? Would highly appreciate it.

    • @LycheeGameLabs
      @LycheeGameLabs  Před 4 lety +1

      That effect has 3 systems. There's a sphere emitter of sparkles in the middle. Another sphere emitter of rays around it (with a thin edge radius) and a small emitter in the middle that creates a soft, dark "shadow" particle. This shadow makes the other effects pop. Use the sorting order property to make sure the shadow is behind the other systems.
      Hope that helps!

    Can you tell how you made glow around some objects on gamefield?

    • @LycheeGameLabs
      @LycheeGameLabs  Před 4 lety +1

      I render that section very brightly (using 'high dynamic range' colors) and then use Unity's bloom effect to blur these bright sections.
