      @@Makhnovets Hi there I have one more thing I would like to suggest seeing that you asked in the video after you've compounded and polished, "go over it with a ceramic coating", you can pick up a ceramic coating kit from any auto body shop. Simply compounding and polishing alone may leave it shinning for about 2 weeks, whereas ceramic coating which is normally used for exterior car paint, would put a protective coating on it that would last for about 2 years big difference and it wouldn't wash off during that time either.

    This can certainly work. The cost is the anti-glare coating on screen which could make it harder to see the screen during the day.
    Aesthetics vs Safety.

    • @Makhnovets

      If you do it accurate enough, there really low chance of damaging anything, After all the anti-glare coating was already damaged, and indeed it was making even worse with direct sun light then with-out also it looks nice!

      If it’s not a touch screen, just use any low grain polish, but if there’s protective over spray on lcd, you will need to do it in full.

    • @Makhnovets
      @Makhnovets  Před 3 lety +1

      By Polishing them, or replace the screen.
      Lightly polish the screen, it makes them less visible, also depends on the screen, some people was able to use some type of clear code paint, but i have no idea 💡 how and what. On the top I wouldn't even try it from my side, you definitely got to know what do you do.

    • @Makhnovets
      @Makhnovets  Před rokem

      You might of used high grain polish instead, or you had the scratches underneath or you have really soft screen, there could be many things…
      Is the scratches deep? If you can’t feel it with your nail, or you cant feel them at all then use the swirl remover. If they deep, replace the screen.
      Is it touch screen? If yes, replace the screen.

      @Makhnovets  Před rokem

      It dosn't matter, if you talking about deep scratches, it will make it looks nicer, but not going to fix it, Make sure you don't go too crazy because that can damage the screen, and make sure you don't use that technique on touchscreen. • @Makhnovets
      @Makhnovets  Před rokem

      Thanks for asking, but unfortunately I don't have a suggestion. It also depends on the touch screen and how bad it looks... Sometimes you can get away with the same solution, but you will mess up the screen completely in most cases.

    Great video. Where there any risks? I'm considering doing on my Dodge Ram Infotainment screen (just picked up a used one). My concern is about anything negative. IMO, Everyone should put an Antiglare/Matte finish iPad Screen protector cut to size (either when new or after cleaned up). First thing I did on a new car I bought. That eliminates this issue. Frankly manufactures should be doing that from the factory.

      @@fordswgt9027: I got nervous and didn’t apply much pressure so there was little change. I think it’s the anti-glare coating that gets beat up on these screens. That’s why they tend to look bad. I think what one really does is basically polish that off. I was just too nervous on a 2019. So really no help for you…

    • @Makhnovets
      @Makhnovets  Před 2 lety

      No, it's pretty straightforward, don't use heavy compound and spend more time. But that fix will not do any good for touch screen.

      @greg6162 Před 11 měsíci

      @@MikeNSX I have the same issue on a 2020 Honda CRV-EXL I just bought that has 9' infotainment touch screen. Unfortunately they don't use glass, and the dealership I bought it from (20k miles) didn't detail the car at all and when I complained about the smoke smell and asked for an ozone treatment, they decided to also put a smoke ODOR fogger (which I explicitly asked them not to use because ozone gen works better and that toxic fogger spray makes a mess out of everything and just covers up the smell and takes 2-3 days to air out and it's been raining so I'm inhaling that garbage in. So now they managed to wear out the anti-reflective coating after wiping that spray off the infotainment screen because most young kids these days have the mental capacity of toddlers. The dealership won't replace or fix it and I've only had the car for 4/days?

      @@greg6162 That really sucks. I rarely have good luck with Dealers. That may require a call to corporate but messing up a screen for a particular person like me would drive me insane. I sold the RAM and now have a Stanta Cruz (odd I know) but it has even more screen to deal with (and frickin piano black trim ugh). They should just all come with protectors. It’s a no brainer.
