video wrap up, use the polishing compound in the rain x kit with a polishing attachment for a drill and buff the screen
instead of gps display im going to be using this for gba display
Did it work?
Dana, one thing I would recommend is that folks might want to put a couple of layers of masking tape around the screen prior to using the sand paper on the drill in order to keep from scratching the plastic housing of the GPS unit. Great video! Keep 'em comin'.
Thanks Craig, good suggestion. I did that and it came right off. Ended up polishing the sides a little and they needed it too. Wonder if a stronger tape would be in order?
We were just talking about this and, boom, you took care of it nicely!
Good!
On my non-touch screen cameras and GPS devices I have used clear shipping tape that works well. When it is worn enough, I peel it off and clean the adhesive residue off and start over.
Good advice!
Thanks for this very informational video. I have been wondering for a year or two now how to clean the scratches off of my dive computer screen. I didn't want to have to replace the whole screen because as you mentioned, time without your equipment. I'll definitely give this a try.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the advise. I have a scratched GPS that I need to try this on
It works. Good luck.
good to know! thanks
