Can you help me, I have a Pioneer faceplate, too, but it has trouble reading unless I remove and attach and push that round dial in. Then it would show the # of the song on the CD and volume and other readings. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the display is bad internally . Go on ebay and look for a used faceplate. You can get them pretty cheap

Do you have a suggestion for cleaning oxidized/stained metal face plates for vintage audio equipment?

I usually use Maguires chrome cleaner. It usually cleans up alot of oxidation on metals

You can open it up. Usually a couple of screws on the back and a few clips

I tint windows for a living and have cut myself getting alittle too close to the blade a few times. I don’t even feel the pain anymore. Lol
