Billy Mitchell really does have an ego problem. He tried sueing Cartoon Network because Regular Show depicted him as a large floating head that explodes upon defeat, and he doesn't understand the meaning of the word "parody"

yes he has a personality disorder, called narcissistic personality disorder. He literally demonstrates most every symptom of the checklist. Including cheating /exploiting others to get ahead, and also being unusually and extremely sensitive to criticism. It's very sad not only his situation, but that others can be duped into believing a con man.

I dont believe this a "true" documentary at all, but a half true recreation of events with some manufactured drama

Yes. If the proof doesn't exist, erase the score and start over. There's no reason to treat any of these scores as being sacrosanct at this point in time in video gaming history. Let them all go.

Twin Galaxies was called into question over fifteen years ago. Twin Galaxies officials dodged and even helped cover up matters. The really bad thing is that Twin Galaxies is *still* trying to bury matters. And it isn't that TG is trying to protect the innocent, because it *will* act with speed when the alleged cheater isn't one of its own old guard.
When the Todd Rogers story re-emerged, TG defended him for months, but this time the story didn't blow over and eventually TG had to act. When Billy Mitchell was exposed (and remember that Mitchell's scores and TG's treatment of the matter were first questioned years ago as well) after Todd Rogers, TG again refused to act until the story blew up again.

These scores were questionable anyway since it was a mailed in videotape. They broke their own rules by allowing a score that wasn't witnessed by official refs.
It's very simple. Keep the scores that were witnessed done live and reset those that weren't. If these guys really are the shit in Donkey Kong, then come out and prove it again.
Agent Antz the witnessed scores are the questionable one - one of Mitchell’s questionable scores was “seen” by a ref that was none other than Todd Rogers.

FinalFantasySete - that will make his inevitable exposure as a fraud that much sweeter. Mitchell keeps going on about this mysterious tape that supposedly TG has that will exonerate him. It's pretty apparent that no such legit tape actually exists, though he seems to not be above fabricating one that fits his narrative that will also be a fraud. Billy actually helped financially support TG and made threats that he would back out if they didn't accept his records as legit when he sent them those non infamous tapes in King of Kong that appeared sketchy.
The truth always comes out, even if it takes years as it did for Fraud Rodgers. Mitchell is the next that will eventually be exposed. His ego and need to be eternally the best will be his undoing....all this insane drama over a videogame score. It's kind of crazy.
It's only a matter of time before someone uncovers that Billy Mitchell's hot sauce is just rebottled Tabasco.
I have spent time with Billy Mitchell playing Ms. Pacman, not only is he kick ass at it, we talked for 3 hours talking about life and stuff playing together. He showed me how to play... who does that?

I questioned the Twin Galaxies system the second Walter Day let Billy submit a janky-as-fuck video tape where the screen glitches out over the score and the score inexplicably jumps during the glitch. The entire King of Kong documentary was a joke. The TG crew agreed to film the whole thing with the idea of setting up Wiebe to get fucked over so they could assert Billy's dominance. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't some TG lackeys even try showing up at Wiebe's house to "inspect his board" during the filming while Wiebe wasn't home?

Dwayne Richard re-uploaded his King of Con! and The Perfect Fraudman documentaries at some point after taking them down, and I would like to express my appreciation to him for doing so. Comments on his videos are disabled as I write this, so I will simply do so here. It is also unfortunate that he has had to stand alone to some extent for years on this issue and be accused of some kind of conspiracy against Billy Mitchell by people at Twin Galaxies. He stood for what was right and took a lot of crap for it, and now it is my sincere hope that he feels vindicated and is given due recognition for having fought as he has done.

Feels sad how so many of the top guys whether that be sports or games getting revealed as doping/cheating. Guys like Jon Jones in UFC, Lance Armstrong in cycling come to mind. When you look at the difference between natural body building and enhanced body building its a clear visual potential delineation on what doping gives in terms of a advantage over others in other sports and competitions.

Lance Armstrong's 7 Tour de France wins have been removed from the TDF record. Same should happen to ALL of Billy Mitchell's records, not just the ones faked. Ban the guy from competitive gaming.

It has not been officially removed from Twin Galaxies/Guinness World Record. I know this as I'm involved in the investigation on Billy's end. Just wanted to give you the heads up.

Because it is true...Billy is on level with Darth Vader as one of the most reviled film villains.. Seriously! This just adds to his legend! Lemme talk about Twin Galaxies. They came to be in 83ish. They later developed the National Video Game team which did events all over the nation. This group did the famous tips tricks & secrets VHS tapes. Several of the members went on to write books & other stuff. Most notably Steve Harris who went on to publish the legendary Electronic Gaming Monthly.
I'm still suspect of Jimmy Woods 50,000 on double dragon.

I called them a few years back to submit a score of like 70k on DK.. They said I couldn't submit with high score save kit on my DK machine so didn't bother.. I'm now rockn a 108k score! Yeah I busted my tail to get that score. I know it's no where near record but I'd like to submit regardless.. Anyhow my point is they are uptight about high score save kits which can be settings verified on video but yet they take whatever emulation! That's a COME ON man....

I would like to see a detailed breakdown of the difference between hardware and emulation done from 60fps recordings. If I had access to a machine and the ability to capture analog RGB, I'd make one myself

Arcade > the z80 does its calculation and stores the info in the vram. The vram is scanned and the signal sent to the screen like a continuous stream, displaying from side to side and top to bottom (hence why we get the "rolling shutter effect", sometime sprites are missing a part because it's not yet updated in the vram)
Mame did not emulate this accurately at first so what they did was take a "screenshoot" of the vram once every 60th second, before displaying it "at once" (you can see the world building pieces by pieces)

I also understand that these monitors are basically sideways, and scan from either left to right or right to left (not sure which side is the "top" for purposes of display retrace). I'm just talking about how the public evidence is basically choppy GIFs. Note that I am *not* arguing against the evidence, just stating that I'd like to see a 60fps visual comparison

I think they jumped the gun on this, perhaps they saw some of the other incorrect coverage that states Twin Galaxies removed scores when so far it's only the Donkey Kong Forum that has removed scores as far as I can tell. Given how long Todd Rogers was investigated, I'd assume it'll be a while before anything happens with the dispute on Twin Galaxies.
Yeah if they had taken down the scores on TG they'd have announced the findings on the dispute thread and they haven't. Realistically it's only a matter of time though, the evidence is overwhelming, but I guess they're just being thorough. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that under the current management they're trying to clear this mess up once and for all but they're being a bit too cautious in my opinion.
Surprised you didn't mention the interview Mitchell did with EMPIRE MEDIA. The host, Josh, practically kissed Mitchell's ass and didn't hold his feet to the fire.

afew guys like todd and billy had a nice side business geting appearance fees, since the new owners took charge in 2014 i think things changed at TG base and they want to clean up a few things. there needs to be good evidence to remove scores in my opinion though.

Richie Knucklez is a name I haven't heard in a while. He was part of the group that bought TG a few years back that quickly fell apart. He also used to have Billy on his web show(Arcade Culture iirc) in the 2010-2013 timeframe and was obviously a friend of his. I really don't trust his opinion on the matter and don't see how Billy didn't cheat. He's clearly a great player of classic arcades, but his ego is through the roof.

Poor Walter Day. I don't know him personally but I feel he is just so trusting and IMO is innocent. Billy Mitchell, Todd Rogers, Ron Corcoran are three names that will be forever tied in my mind, and I think they deserve it for trying to be above fair competition for their own personal gain or to feed their ego.
