Yeah.
As primarily a DoK player, there are a few things I'll miss (6" pile on SoS and Black Horror of Ulgu), but overall it looks fine with some interesting possibilites. Nothing looks too objectionable in either direction. I do agree with you though: This reveal was a bit tame. One endless spell that has never been used (but might be now), no prayers and nothing on their spell lore.
Regardless, I love my DoK army and it is still the one I am most likely to invest my time in

With the just the small fraction of rules they released here, I can already count a handful of crazy combos that will turn any unit you like into a literal blender.
I think we're gonna be fine, and tbh this seems pretty exciting to me

This reveal makes me feel a type of way. Every hero and unit lost stuff, like big stuff. 6 inch move to d6 move on the khinarai. No 6 inch combat range and pill in on the sisters. 12 instead of 18 inch extra attack for snakes on schadow queen (and not garanteed anymore). All supstantial stuff from there kit that has been taken away.
Nothing new, only hard nurfs. This is the only army I own so that's a big hit for me personally.
New to sigmar. Haven't played my first game yet but have watched all your videos about 4th edition factions and i have to say you sir are awesome. I look forward to listening to all your vids going forward. Subbed. Keep up the great work 👌
I currently play 40k, I picked up the DoK Start Collecting box near the end of 2nd but never actually played. Decided to change that with the 4th edition announcement and I've been getting stoked listening to all your stuff.

Morathi started as THE high priestess of Slaanesh, then became the first of the Hag Queens devoted to Khaine BUT kept the Slaanesh cults running and reclaimed her role as their leader despite them being outlawed… it is fair to say she has played gods and came out on top

So question: Say a Melusai unit charges in on an 8+ and gets Strikes First; then in the combat phase they use All-Out-Slaughter. After their first Fight they get Strike Last, BUT they have Strike First *until the end of the turn.* Wouldn't that mean the Strike First and Strike Last cancel each other out, so the Melusai could Fight a second time during regular timing?

That’s a fantastic point you bring up. If the rules stay the same for fight first/last, I see no reason why they wouldn’t.
That'll be a core rules answer. Id argue it makes more sense the next proc would just take over. Since they are not passive but procs, it would make more sense it just overides the last thing, like it would in any other game.
Cancel out seems like wishful thinking. Since its a line of text, not a maths equation.
Maybe it would matter which applied last?
its a bit of a shame morathi kept her anoying 3 damage per turn abbility but overal im pretty happy with these changes. i would have expected the stalkers to have 3 health though seeing as all cavalry units have 1 extra health now.
So far I've been a big fan of most things I've seen and as cool as Morathi is, I do not like the design where you can only do x damage per turn or phase.. I saw this in 40k and it left a bad taste in my mouth. However!! If it's not a common thing I guess I wouldn't mind it on one bad ass OG Dark elf!! Here's hoping it's not going to be a re-occurring theme.
I think you need to see sisters of slaughter when they're next to a high gladiatrix and an avatar of khaine
I'm excited about what I've seen so far. I do want to know how the Aelf side is going to gain some buffs and synergies with the Cauldrons, but the snake side seems cool

I am actually excited to play DoK. My untrained eye thinks this looks okay but way more interested to know what is happening with the other characters/heros. Hoping they are as viable as Morathi and combat snakes are looking from this. Also interested to know what is happening with the khanite shadowstalkers.

You could also look at the spearhead units, sure their abilities are not going to carry over to the normal game, but their stats are going to be the same
Khaneri health 2 is great, gonna be getting them out now. Always been a unit with great abilities, but to weak to last a fight
I read all these „previews“. Their main accomplishment seems to show us the battletrait/playstyle abd then confuse us even more

So far for the armies I know there not so many rules changed as I first thought. Idoneth have their tides, dok have their staggering buffs. What do you think about that, that they mostly adapt aos3 into the new phases/tactics of aos4?

that is for the vanguard box game mode, we have no idea if that will reflect the actual warscroll.
I was hoping for more prayers, since we are fairly prayer heavy in previous editions.
All lores have been reduced down for the codex

"Once per turn (army), Any combat phase" is not the same as "its done in every combat phase" - it can only be done in 50% of combat phases. Cheers for the video Rob!
But there is only 1 combat phase per turn? There are 2 in a battle round.

I mean, when you ascend to godhood for the sole purpose of making sure that no entity can ever EVER ☆e v e r☆ can destroy you, imprison you, or manipulate your sense of self ever again, the 3 damage/turn (not round, you can potentially end the Shadow Queen by the end of turn 2 now if everything goes well for you) makes sense

She IS a goddess now, the lord of change is merely a greater daemon.
For almost her entire existence she was stronger than a lord of change, she's super strong caster
For purely flavor purposes, I wish the faction trait was changed so you only get a step up on the round list if you destroyed a unit in the previous round.
This would make the army unquestionably worse, and as a DoK player I should not want it. But it bothers me that the army whose lore revolves around blood sacrifices don't...have to make blood sacrifices
I play Daughters, but unfortunately, the only viable list they've had for awhile is "Ooops all Snakes"
So Witch Aelves, the iconic unit, are absolutely worthless. The thing I don't want in the new edition is "Look how good we made snakes!"
As a faction we don't even have artillery and it feels REALLY not fleshed out. I mean, they shove Doomfire Warlock in all the value boxes, that unit is the worst!
So -this- is what happened to Big Waagh. The Daughters stole their bonuses.

This feels very undercooked, hope the stuff they didnt show off is more exciting.
Was hoping for a Morathi redesign. The 3 damage cap always felt very gamey and a lazy way to prevent a God model from dying too fast

You could actually kill Morathi in two battle rounds, no? The ability says 3 wounds *per turn*. So I can damage her in my turn and my opponent’s turn, right? So potentially 6 damage per battle round

Well we haven't seen the other detachments yet qe are getting four before the battle tomes come out
All this talk of objectives seems rather fiddly and complicated.
If only there were some way to clearly display where an objective ends and begins to determine exactly which miniatures and scoring!
I guess such a product is not meant to be. A man can dream though.
Honestly, im reserving judgment until we can see the whole army, but just based on what we see here, this is the weskest/worst army we've seen. The faction abilities do virtually nothing compared to what armies like Sons or OBR get. The units are made of paper with no punch. Only Morathi seems good, but not enough to compensate. Again, there is a LOT for this army that's yet to be seen, so im prepared to be proven completely wrong, but so far? RIP DoK, I guess...
