    But keep in mind, if you are still shopping, that the forte of the Roland FP-30X (or the FP-10) is acoustic piano emulation. If your price point is the top of the entry-level price range and acoustic piano emulation is what you want, you will not be disappointed with the Roland FP-30X. Note that I used the word "emulation". Every digital keyboard is an instrument of its own accord, not an imitation of some acoustic instrument. However, the full-feature Rolands are designed to emulate the acoustic piano above all.
    I am not an expert or advanced musician. I reached the level of intermediate beginner on the piano 50 years ago. I was able to get my Roland for an online price at a local music store. After watching and listening to all the online reviews and comparison, I could tell instantly just playing a few notes on a couple of different instruments that the Roland is it if your aim is developing acoustic piano skills. After two weeks, so far so good.

    I watched your video last night, Friday, but I am watching it again tonight, Saturday. I am in the market for another keyboard, but I am really a professional bass guitar player, but I also play keyboard's/ piano, organ and lead guitar, all equally well. What kind of amp are you playing through on the demo, and how does the keyboard s own speakers sound, and what size are they. And thanks again for the great demo you presented. Does it come with a 76 keyboard model also, or just the 88

    Can't get the FP-30X master tuning to work. Read the manual, watched videos, no joy. Manual says hold the Function key down and hit F6, F#6 and G6 to tune, but no sounds come out and the tuning never changes. What do?

  • @Am71919
    @Am71919 Před rokem +7

    Excellent board!!! However, you can keep the weighted keys, give me the 61 or the 76 key version of this board and I'm happy

    • @thomaspick4123
      @thomaspick4123 Před rokem +1

      I’ll stay with weighted 88s. If you like 61, 73, 76 keys with organ feel, I understand. Then, get a good bass pedal board, so you can play church tunes. Harder to find a good wide stand to place pedals underneath. Also, one might want a three tier stand, for two keyboards and a sheet music rack. No bass pedal board accommodates a damper pedal and expression pedal. So, playing piano on an organ board with bass pedals is out of the question, until someone builds one. I do love synths. In particular and arranger keyboard with many rhythms.

    • @frantark2535
      @frantark2535 Před rokem +3

      Why? The weighted keys on this keyboard really make it a standout, gives you a feel of a grand, unlike most keyboards. I've had one for a couple years now, great action.

      @Am71919 Před rokem +1

      @@frantark2535 I played an upright and a grand piano for over 30 years and digital keyboards never feel like a real piano and they're never going to because they don't have the same internal parts, the action on a real piano isn't something that can be duplicated through a digital piano, the closest digital piano that comes to a real piano action is a hybrid model (because they have actual hammers and strings) besides, the light keys are easier to play I can do my runs and trils a lot faster and I don't develop calluses on my fingers trying to play the extra heavy weighted keys that digital pianos have, also, nobody in your audience is going to be able to tell whether your keys are weighted or not, all they're going to be concerned about is the great sound that comes out of your board

    Hey was wondering what speakers are the best for the keyboard? I know it’s somewhat unrelated to the product itself but I’m a noob and need some advice 😅.

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Před rokem +3

      Hey there, thanks for the interest! The FP-30X has built-in speakers which work great for practicing piano, but it also has a stereo pair of outputs so you can connect it to any speakers you like. Which speakers are best really depends on how you are using the keyboard. If you are mainly playing at home for practice and/or recording, a good pair of studio monitors would be an upgrade from the built-in speakers in the piano. I personally like the options from Adam Audio or JBL - here are a couple examples:
      www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/T7VPair--adam-audio-t7v-7-inch-powered-studio-monitor-pair
      www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LSR305mk2pr--jbl-305p-mkii-5-inch-powered-studio-monitors-pair
      On the other hand, if you’re planning to use the keyboard to perform live - solo or with a band - you’ll probably need a good portable PA system or keyboard amp. Here are a couple options to consider in those categories:
      www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EONOneMKII--jbl-eon-one-mk2-portable-battery-powered-pa-system
      www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/KC600--roland-kc-600-200w-15-inch-keyboard-amp
      I hope this gives you a good place to start! Feel free to reach out to me directly with further questions, and thanks again!

    What do you think about this one vs the Yamaha P-125. As I understand it the Roland FP-30X seems better in many aspects such as keys, speakers and connectivity. But the Yamaha has a very nice app Smart Pianist giving you easy access to all features. Also the Grand Pianos may sound better.

      I know I'm a month late but the FP-30X also has an app that allows you to select sounds and other things via Bluetooth. I believe this same app also works for the FP60X and FP90X.

      @sweetwater  Před rokem

      Hi, Lee! Thanks for your interest. Yes, you can layer or split two sounds on the FP-30X. In other words, you can either play two sounds simultaneously across the entire keyboard (piano and strings, for example) - or you can play one sound on the left side and another on the right (e.g. bass and piano).
      Hope this helps, and feel free to contact me directly with any further questions!
