If theyre in a mall/centre they could buy it, try it on in a toilet stall and take it back if it doesn't fit properly...if its a crop top she could wear something over it

Tell your mom youll only wear it with a tanktop underneath. If she allows you to buy it, do indeed wear it with a tanktop (or long sleeves if it's a cold day). Do this for a couple months. Eventually, she'll trust you and won't check anymore.

But it usually only implies for people 0-13 and then parents typically start letting their kids show more skin. (Not all parents) now in her case maybe her mom just doesn’t like her wearing crop tops and even when paying for it with the kids own money the parent wouldn’t like it.

NAH CAUSE THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO ME not about a crop top but one time me and my mom went on a whole like hour shopping spree just to find out the dressing rooms were closed(Covid, but it was 2022 and nobody was wearing masks anymore)she told me to go in anyways and she would wait for me outside but someone saw us apparently and called security, we didn’t get kicked out of the store but they kicked us out of the dressing rooms and my mom got so mad I was so embarrassed
