I don't mind homeless people taking the shopping carts. They need a way to get their stuff around safely too and it's not their fault society failed them. I'd prefer this system though because it makes the employees' job easier and it could be a cheap way for homeless people to get storage space. Ain't nothin for a quarter in America anyways.

My anger issues would make this so much worse. I'm autistic so I take rules and honesty very seriously. While I may miscount, there's no way somebody's gonna accuse me of taking something when I know I didn't. Especially when there's no way I could (tight clothes, tiny purse). I'd stand there and be like "Bring the fuckin manager. I'll empty this bag and strip in front of y'all. Fuck you for not believing me when I clearly did not take anything. DO IT. NOW. CALL.. OR SHOULD I CALL FOR YOU!?" I'm the nicest most patient person when it comes to retail personnel, but press me on my hard set mental rules and we're gonna have a problem. 😤

Some places do this in the us. Aldi is the main store I know of. Although I’m not too mad when homeless people are the ones stealing the carts, it is annoying when people just leave them in the middle of the parking lot
