I'd recommend drilling a hole in a set of plugs so you can use an eye screw or decorative wire or something else that can bear the center the weight, because it will be more comfortable to dangle heavy things from the plugs than the hook wire.

i was just looking to see if someone commented this, cause that seems like a great way to bear the weight of the heavier earrings. i'd imagine plugs that are simply small tubes like this probably already exist? but i've never looked into them so maybe not
There are also people who make plugs with holes for wire earrings now, too. Mostly independent jewelry artists I think

i feel like some people might like this idea: my friend bought like. 100+ worms on strings, and then made earrings in every single color. they were ridiculous but they fit with her vibes so well.

I recently started making chunky earrings for myself (mostly pipe cleaner spiders for Halloween and littlest pet shop toys) so this came at the perfect time for me
Also the idea to use twine for the connecting bit is so smart- I’ve been using bent paper clips and they work pretty damn well (and are super cheap) but aren’t super dangly- so I might be trying out the twine method in the future lol

One of the best things about being an artist is being able to look at or imagine something and go "I can MAKE THAT!!" 😂 Just did that yesterday when I made myself a drill handle. I was very excited and, in case you were wondering, successful!

@@Spidertheidiot see, in that case I tend to get wildly creative 😂 before I felt comfortable using resin I was using hot glue and tacky glue to make all kinds of stuff!

I totally love this! You definitely improved the items and they look so cute as earrings! I wonder if you could make the fingers look as if they have jagged bloody gashes...maybe by adding some type of sculpting clay.
ear shaped earrings have been on my bucket list to make for a while now.
I plan on cutting the ears off a dollar store doll and gluing them on studs.
These earrings came out great! I wear hanging earrings with gauged ears as well. I recommend using double-flared silicone plugs with small pinholes in the center which are perfect for sliding the hooks through. It'll be much more comfortable.
"Live your life; be a weirdo" The motto I live by every day of my life. Especially this time of year, as I constantly wear devil horn hair clips to my job while having rainbow hair. Also, for the heart and liver I would have attached them to body chains to wear over a shirt/dress.

I love having those moments of thinking... "oh, I'd REALLY like to have a pencil portrait of *insert name*"... Then I remember I'm pretty good at that, I can make it myself! 😅
A tip for your ears! If you wear silicone or metal tunnels you can put the hooks through there and it helps with the feeling of weightier earrings, plus it reduces the risk of tearing :) if you have trouble with the hooks staying in metal tunnels you can bend them (while in the tunnel) so they kind of latch on and they're super secure!

I've actually gotten into making/reusing my old earrings and necklaces too. Either glancing at the charms they have at whatever store or repurposing old jewelry charms.

Those finger earrings remind me of the time I was on art school, and there were some plaster hands nobody wanted To keep. I cut off the fingers, painted them To get that dead look and made them into necklaces for me and my friends.
Now I feel like making earring versions, they look so cool :P
i do the same thing with clip ons! i have a type that looks like a hoop earring and doesn't look like a clip on. its been so fun finally getting to wear a new accessory type!

My ears are 3/4" and growing. I use my 2nd piercing holes for other earrings, use tunnels, add an earring hoop and attatch charms, and also just put the earrings hook under my tunnel and hang it there. I really hope that made sense! But at every ear stretching size you can still wear earrings! It does get challenging at times tho 😊

i’m super late but some people sell plugs that have holes for earrings in them!! so they don’t hurt your ears after a while to wear it under like you have it

The heart and/or liver might be fun as pendants since they're too heavy for earrings!
I like to use the type of earrings that are a full circle so u don't even need the plug to keep them in (while my ears are no longer gauged i also love giant plastic earrings and remember the gauged struggle lol)
