The old tv thing is called a test pattern/test card. Back in the days before cable, when tv was literally broadcast over the air, stations would shut their transmitters off around midnight and turn them back on early in the morning. For maybe about a half hour before shutting it down and after turning it back on, they would show a test pattern to signify that they were going off-air or coming back on-air (and probably to calibrate) and if you tried to watch a tv station while the transmitter was off, all you'd see is static.

I used to have some VHS tapes that when the movie ended and the credits finished rolling, it would go to a test card before going to static. Also did you know that some old analog TVs that had a built-in VHS player, that when the movie went off and it stayed on static too long it would automatically rewind your tape? I had an old TV that did that. Convenient, especially when you fell asleep.

This video was a hell of a lot of fun. Personally Clock, Cassette tape, and Balloon head were some of my favorites but the most fun was Echo's explanations as to what was happening. Juicing my brain and seeing what dribbles out may be something I take up saying but back to the art. I would be down for this becoming a series where Echo creates batches of characters where they all tie with a theme thrown out to followers.
Also, out of curiosity, anyone else leaving this video wanting a video game where everyone gets to select a different object for their head? No? Just me?

A good friend of mine and myself used to watch echo religiously in junior high. She moved schools and we slowly fell off and left our love for echo behind. We’re now seniors in highschool getting ready to graduate, and I decided to take a trip down memory lane and come back to this channel. I must say, the only difference is the hair has progressively taken over Echos hair 😂❤️

The original royal purple dye was from a shellfish, so purple shells would make sense to me.
Some seashells actually CAN be purple! Most are browns and such, but depending on the type of shell/minerals in the environment, they can be a color of purple!

The “SMPTE color bars” or just tv color bars thing, is something that I remember seeing on tv in Canada late at night when the channel would go off the air. Back in the day there were actual time blocks in the middle of the night, usually anywhere from 2am to 6am of no programming that as the years went by got filled in with reruns, infomercials, late night/early morning news, all sorts of shit, but as most tv channels are 24/7 now, this doesn’t happen much.

That Rubik's Cube head is solvable. But the colours aren't on the right sides relative to each other. (Red and Orange should be opposite each other, so you can't have a corner piece with both. Same with the Blue and Green edge piece.)
In case you're interested, I think the Rubik's cube shown could be solved, but you'd end up with a cube with the colours in different places than they are on a real Rubik's cube. Perhaps he's a cheap knock-off brand puzzle cube, idk

I have made a discovery. I've been watching Echo for quite some time now (about 4 ish years) and the red has just been slowly creeping it's way higher and higher in her hair. Some day the mystical magical red hair monster will take over completely and destroy the world. (This is not an insult, I think it looks fantastic.)

I feel like purple was a good choice thematically, since from what I know, Nobility would drink tea if available, and since purple was a very expensive color due to the lack of availability of the dye, purple was usually only worn by Nobility. The tea drinking thing could be entirely wrong, so sorry if that’s wrong.

Time to expand these characters into families... men women and children in varying configurations... not hte same head, but complimentary heads. Maybe the magic 8 ball and the rubix cube are a thing, ya know? both toys that change mood pretty easily... just a thought.
