- Japan is COMPLETELY different in vibe from anything we've played before. We are isolationists (at least to start!) and must build a complete industry chain from scratch. Do we open our borders? Do we open other people's borders... by force? Let's find out!

Make a government without the Shogunate 2024 challenge. Difficulty: Impossible
If you can employ it, always put gold mines at the top. I don't care if you are a few months from interventionalism, or are running a red deficit. Losing out on those months of minting is throwing money away.
Cancelling the gold mines is crazy
Ports add Infrastructure with a more advanced PM.
You should always build Gold mines when available.
You should also check the Decisions/Journal entries more frequently. The years just fly by. 😀
i really don't understand all this mass railway creation when so many more things could be built to improve the economy like paper as it is so expensive and tanking his taxes. He is behind on updating to quite a few production methods and yet doesn't seem keen on switching over. I can understand why for the employment ones as it makes a lot of sense to try to uplift his many peasants, but there are also a lot of productivity ones, like the wooden passenger carriages which would solve his transportation costs issue. I also don't understand his military tech choice when his economy needs so much work still.
Never ever not build gold mines 😢😮
When a Japanese guy says 'you, build railway!' you know youre in trouble
The change from agrarianism to interventionism will theoretically result in an increased overall investment pool contribution, at least in the long term if not immediately.
Under agrarianism the investment pool contributions are:
7.5% of farmer income, 15% of aristocrat income, 15% of capitalist income, 5% of shopkeeper income.
Whereas under interventionism:
5% of farmer income, 10% of aristocrat income, 20% of capitalist income, 5% of shopkeeper income.
This seems like a somewhat bad change at first glance, but for most of the game the total income of the capitalists is much higher than the farmers and aristocrats.
Ports can/do provide infrastructure, your economy was suffering in the beginning because you aren't building industry just railways and fishing wharves, I don't have OCD but I need you to read the tooltips you are talking about since they almost always answer the questions you have about them when you have them on screen.
Hi Quill. Did you know that you have a decision available for Japan on "instantly converti g your pops from mahayana to shinto.
I was wondering about that, it seems that the state religion in japan would not empower the buddhist monks.
The decision to switch to Shinto only becomes available once you've triggered the Restoration.
Bro is building to many railroads
Like this is an alternate universe where the rail companies forced everyone to use rail even when going out to a local shop that should be 15 minutes away at max but was placed 10km away with a railway central right beside it you force you to travel via the train system, instead of car industries.
@@morgus9892 car industries? in the 1860s? lol
I wonder how many videos got demonetized because YT misheard "heya folks!" :)
first :)
