1st got BG I, on the day of release. Installed it that evening after work, and the next thing I knew? The sun was coming up. lol

I've played BG1 since 1998., I always thought his name was FireBEARD. Funny the things you miss in a game you've played for half your life.

This game is really confusing for me since I’ve never had any exposure to such old RPGs that require such level of thinking. But I hope that I can slowly get a hang of things and have as much fun as everyone else is with this game.
This game can be a bit overwhelming for some especially if your not familiar with the older d&d rules, THAC0 ext. I’m an old school gamer and it was for me at first as well, but try to hone a few rules/mechanics each time u jump on and it will get easier!
It takes only a bit until ya get into it how far have ya made it so far? Id say talk to everyone at the start candle keep is the tutorial lol I watched a tutorial for the tutorial but once I learned it was easy after ever since n now I'm on the 2nd game and beat the 1st with all the dlc siege of dragon spear n now I'm on bg2 act 1 it's amazing IDK which I like better lol I like 1 cuz it's lighter feeling 2s way darker and like sad I don't want to spoil so I won't say but let us know where you're at lol give us an update

@@DJdeliverance Hey, I was originally at Candlekeep after I did the tutorial since I don’t have much time to play for a bit. I just didn’t tutorial and honestly plan on doing the tutorial again to iron things out that I didn’t understand that I still may be a bit slow with, as I play on switch and need to get used to the controls. I spent a great deal of time with the character creator and planned on doing a human Fighter with skills in scimitar and dual wield. I’ll keep you posted how far I end up getting, thanks for the advice 🙏

Obligatory Modding Post: Possibly the best part of the first game is the decades of mods made for it, including the Enhanced Version.
The dialogue in the first game seems missing to me now when I don't have NPC Project installed. The combat refinement of Sword Coast Stratagems and the various Tweak mods are great quality of life upgrades.
There are even mods that will allow you to span all of the BG1&2 material, making it a seemless 250+ hours... plus additional content from other mods.
Ya after I finish my second playthrough here I may try some of that modded content out. I did see a few things on some different sites for mods and they looked amazing.

No problem I was unsure of this too when I first played.
Sometimes it can happen depending on the difficulty level. You'll know because they will explode in little pieces lol
@@nperezr94npcs can be permanently killed if they take damage that reduces their hit points a certain number below zero.
Difficulty settings may change this.
A couple of spells also cause permanent death - for example once turned to stone taking damage will permanently kill the character.
Disintegrate spell also permanently kills.
I played through these in anticipation of BG3 a few years ago. Now I don't care about BG3 anymore.
As I’m finishing my second play through again before I start BG2, the anticipation is starting to ware on me for BG3 because I’m having such a good time in BG1
Is that slate interface the default? Mine seems more brown coloured
The version showing is the free Amazon prime bauldurs gate ee.I recently bought the steam version on sale it looks like the default skin is different. Could be that if u have the steam version.

Look I don't like it either, but sadly BG3 is the center of attention these days and it's only evident that some people will mention it at any given moment.
Hell, as an og fan of BG1 & 2 it bums me out how you can't go to any platform looking for BG1 & 2 content without a few BG3 stuff popping before your eyes.
Playing BG 1&2 to prepare for 3 is like listening Black Sabbath and Motorhead before Taylor Swift concert. First two games have light hearted humor, don't try to push certain political agenda on you and have that sense of grand fantasy adventure. BG 3 is 2023 as it gets. It doesn't immerse you like first two, since you always feel like you are on twitter.
