    My quick advice, I bought a back bar from Insta360 and found out quickly the bolts and hardware rust. I had to replace with stainless. Also don’t trust the friction held Insta360 selfie sticks in a back bar setup. I bought a best360 stick because the sections clamp together with the screw mechanism

      I second that. I also purchased the back bar and had the same issues. The screws do not come stock very tight and they rust after about 2 sessions so if you are going to go that route replace all the screws and add washers asap. Also make sure everything is very tight. I nearly lost my camera twice. Once because the stock screw came out completely after riding for about 20 minutes amd the second time because the pole came apart at the base. The selfie stick it comes with came apart without even any hard wipeouts. I think im either going to abandon the back bar system all together and get one of the ones Damien posted in the description or get a stronger selfie stick. It's a tough decision as there are almost no reviews on these products. Damien, what's the system that you use?

    Sometimes, I also use the wrist mount with my insta360. Can get some pretty cool footage like that too. Keep up the great videos and tutorials guys.

    Really enjoyed this one! I've been wondering about the setups for 360 cameras, and you showed me quite a few things to try with my Insta360!

    The Rylo camera is a good choice too.

    Thanks guys. I'm a bit bummed that you didn't get into more details on board-mounted setups. That seems really tricky to do well, esp. at a vertical angle and longer poles. Other mount positions are simpler and have been covered extensively elsewhere (helmet, chest, shoulder, arm, harness, pole on wing, tracermount on wing, strut end). But you could be among the first to popularize pole-based board mounts!

      Its all really the same friend. The mounts on the board are just screwed into the foot strap inserts with anything straight to create the same effect. Sorry we did not go more in depth.

      I would but a lot of them where home made. Here are a few we used with the helmet. www.amazon.com/Aluminum-Alloy-Extension-Helmet-Insta360/dp/B088R8CV9G/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=insta+helmet&qid=1631613037&sr=8-6

    Can you go into more detail about mounting it to the board please? It looks like you incorporated the strap inserts to hold the pole down but I can’t tell how you did it while holding the pole in place. Thank you

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  Před 2 lety

      Exactly! We bolt it to the actual inserts in the board to make sure nothing comes out.

    Hi Damien, would you recommend using a "dive case" or the unprotected camera itself?

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  Před 2 měsíci

      It's better without the dive case if you are using the insta360 X3

      @@DamienLeroyCZcams Thanks Damien for the hint. I own an X4 and it comes with protectice lenses. Those will be sufficient and I do not need a dive case. :D

    Very nice as always. Now unfortunately my brand new GoPro was stolen on the beach in Ipanema Brazil. I am so upset I don’t want to buy another one. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I did a couple of decent videos Wingfoiling with the iPhone chest mounted But the video easily switch off at each bump! Any suggestions how to make nice iPhone videos?

    Hi there, do you use the water housing for the insta360 in your shots ? What pole do you recommend for handheld use in the ocean jd follow cam style ?

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  Před rokem

      Robert, I have used the housing and also rode without it. I felt using it with the housing, there were a little more water droplets I feel but without I had a little water issues but this is with one of the first generation INSTA360's. I think now they rock and you do not need the housing! As for a stick you can use anything. Lots use flag pole holders for the house and attach to you. Just make sure its strong.
