We do a quick camping trip to De Pakhuys, situated 30km from the town Clanwilliam in the Cederberg region.
It’s quite basic but more than sufficient, this campsite is very popular among the rock climbing and bouldering enthusiasts. At first glance we thought “what did we get ourselves into” it looked very baron... but we truly enjoyed every minute.
The campsite has ablution facilities with flush toilets, hot showers fed off a donkey boiler, a kitchen with a gas stove, communal fridges and power to charge your devices.
In the 40 degree heat the farm dam was most welcoming. If you enjoy hiking you should definitely take the 1,2km hike to the waterfall.
We took a day trip to the smallest little village, Wupperthal to see what this little town was all about, we found a historical masterpiece, trapped way back in time in the middle of nowhere. It was quite amazing to see people living so minimalistic and happy in this day and age of technology and urban lifestyle that we are so accustomed too.
